4 windows one clerk!
Cara T.

Had to go in for employment to get the finger print IVP done. Check in to the right of the building. Wasn't to bad of a wait. Instructed to fill in a few more details on my form and come back. I was given a yellow card and told to stand in the Finger Print line. Two people a head of me. Four windows and one clerk who was doing busy work with her window closed. 20 minutes later another employee opened and that went fairly quickly. After that process is done, you then go sit for your name to be called. Waited another 20 minutes for that and then went through that action fast. IVP can take up to 3-6 weeks to receive. They take money orders ONLY! Have that in advance otherwise you'll be sent away! If you need this done sooner than later I would suggest going to AZ Live Scan many locations throughout Phoenix including the UPS Stores, but make sure which one you need as those locations do different back ground check requests. Their turn around time is 2-4 weeks!

I went to the "check in" window where a male police officer greeted me, or should I say rudely greeted me. I came right after my eye appt where my eyes were still dilated, so he probably thought I was on drugs, regardless I was greeted rudely, and he threw my paper number at me and said, your number 37. I walked out to my car and got my police supplement paperwork (someone burglarized and stole my property from my Public Storage unit and the police gave me paperwork to fill out as to what was stolen) and I went back to the window to ask him if I could leave it with him and he said, no mail it in, he smirked and walked away. Very rude! P.S. I'm a former PHX PD and I've never treated anyone so rudely! This is him. He needs to learn manners.

The wait was average however, I did call ahead to make sure the police reports I was picking up were ready.

We called 911 and a fleet of cops came knocking on our door in less than two minutes. They were quick to react, immediately advised me to get on my Cerberus tracking app, and stayed with me until the thieves were apprehended. They kept asking me if I was ok and when my adrenaline went down an hour later, they even apologized for the brute and cold way they first spoke to me. (I was like, DUDE you guys are doing your job, I'm not offended that you didn't coddle me, LOL. Apologizing was not necessary at all.) Detective Michelle Reyes was so sweet, extremely professional, and gladly answered all my questions about the case afterward. The police technicians did take a really long time to finish fingerprinting my phone and miscellaneous items (they said it'd take 2-3 days... it ended up taking 17 days lol) but hey, I'm just glad they recovered all my stolen items in the first place. I'm honestly so grateful. Despite the terrifying ordeal, I feel safe knowing that the Tempe Police Department is vigilantly watching over my community.

He is extremely aggressive and pushes back on citizens when they ask him to do his job. Numerous reported issues with no action by the police department. Dispatchers are often rude and dismissive, and responding officers mirror those same behaviors. They went above & beyond to be nice to me that night & I really wish I'd gotten their names because I would've sent them a thank you later. It has been 8 years since that happened and I am still sober. I think about that night often and the kindness I received especially since I was the one in the wrong & yet they made me feel safe & cared for. The whole dui thing sucked but all in all I had a great experience at the Mesa police department. Try your best not to get arrested but if you must do it in Mesa! & be up front with them. Police officers absolutely love when you tell them the truth Thank you to the Mesa police department for making what would have been only a negative experience into something positive! They refused her request stating they would take them to evidence. Three weeks later I called evidence to see when things would be released, they denied having his things at all. I called Mesa Police and was told they didn't know where his things were, nothing was brought in from the scene. Weeks later I was told they apologized but they left his stuff at the scene by mistake. In his things were every last things he owned, jewelry, clothes, medications, his Bible, his photos and a black sachel full of psych medications, suboxone, and prescribed substance, that they said they left at the scene. The medical examiners office took photos of all of those things including the medications, but the Mesa Police denied seeing the sachel of meds. I requested the report 3 times after they closed his case to accidental fentanyl poisoning, it was never sent to me. I made a formal complaint to Internal Affairs, they took four weeks and wrote me saying only, "their officers acted accordingly", they closed the investigation. To them my son was a waste of time, he was an addict, another body to collect, more paperwork. Why ? Because it was not one of their children. Shame on all of you that overlooked the last memories we would have had of my son, shame on you for not investigating the cameras at the store that viewd who gave him the drugs and shame on you for the devastating treatment we recieved.
