I ordered a civil standby after a family member of a slumlord physically threatened me twice following a civil dispute w the property manager of Studio 51 (ghetto slumlord) regarding a sewer water flood which the slumlord didn't wanna pay for the resulting damages on. The cops were utterly rude, dehumanizing, irrational and unrealistic throughout the entire process. I really don't think they have any idea what the words "serve" or "protect" mean. They ignore all evidence to fabricate their own narratives out of thin air. They had me waiting in the hit car, dehydrated, for hours until they showed up. I was understandably disgraced as I'm older woth health issues. Despite the obvious resulting flood damage (all my stuff in bags, luggage ruined, etc), they accused me of being on drugs and talked about me to the office worker as if I wasn't there. The PD here are really just a group of small men who need any and every excuse, even when they need to make stuff up out of thin air, to feel superior to the citizens they are supposed to "serve". We have a policy that states vehicles are not allowed to park in certain areas here due to security and we have multiple signs. If I could put zero stars I would. Visited the station yesterday to file a police report since someone hit my mirror of my car while it was parked early that morning. I wasn't sure what to when I saw the damages since it was a hit and run and I didn't see it happen so I looked it up online. The AI Google told me to visit the station early next day and submit a report. Explained the situation to the front desk officer and she laughed in my face implying I didn't call the police that night/morning since it was 1:30am and I must had been drinking and turned me away from the counter. Her exact words were "at almost 2am...sure hahaha, I guess we can go with that story". I felt so small for needing help and the crazy thing is I didn't do anything wrong. Instead of being rude she could have just educated me. I didn't call the police that night/morning since it was just my mirror that was damaged, just needed the report to help report it to insurance since it wasn't like I was hit while in the car and the last time I called when someone hit me on the freeway while in the car, it took 2 hours for someone to respond. Google told me I was able to file a report after the fact since I had a witness and photos so I did just that. The officer lady that was in the front assisting me should be ashamed for her behavior and that was highly unprofessional. Thanks for no help phx pd. A previous time glass was falling off a skyrise building next to where I live almost killing people walking and they said if someone dies or gets hurt it's the building's problem. Tonight's call was the topping on the cake which made me write this review because a tenant witnessed a drug deal going down out of an RV that has been reported numerous times for at least the last year for the same issue, has expired temporary plates, has tapped into the electricity in the past and is currently camped out on a street which is also a violation but yet Phoenix PD couldn't do anything about it because they couldn't make contact with the people inside so they just left you would think in this situation they would've called a tow truck and waited for them to come tow it away. I want to say thank you to the 2 police officers who possibly saved my life in 2019. I was dating an abusive man and when he was belligerent and drunk, he was threatening me after destroying my MacBook. Because of the yelling, the police were called. When I explained that the man who I was dating had just destroyed my laptop in a drunken rage, they believed me. He was upset that I had to go to a doctor's appointment to extend my FMLA on his birthday so he took it out on my $800 computer. I explained to the police that I didn't even want to press charges as that would put my safety in danger even more, but I wanted him to leave long enough so that I could pack up my stuff and stay with my friend. They arrested him that night so that I could have at least 12 hours to pack up my belongings and leave the apartment. I was able to successfully leave that night after the officers took him away and found an apartment to rent. I thank them for that because now I'm free from his abuse and happily married to someone who does not make me walk on egg shells or afraid to live my life in my own home. My ex, the abuser, who moved back to his home country in Europe (Belgium) in 2021, was eventually arrested for attempting to murder his girlfriend and their daughter. Thankfully his victims are recovering in the hospital and I'm sure my ex will be in prison where people like him belong. I truly believe that because the Phoenix Police took me seriously and didn't just write me off as wanting to cause drama or conflict, I probably am here today because of their hard work and dedication. I'm taking the time to write this review because I feel now is the time. Back on January 06th,2018 I lost my 19 month old son. It's a pain I wish on no one, I couldn't make sense of anything and I had a million emotions running through me at the time and even now. A lady officer took me to the hospital I don't remember her name but she was very uncaring and seemed irritated to even be at work. The sergeant working the area that day was very professional and I had every bit of faith in him to figure out what happened. A few hours after being at the hospital a few more officers came along with my husband the lady officer still was cold and extremely uncaring making snide comments and just genuinely uncaring. But there was one officer whom I am still to this day positive god sent to us his name is Officer Drew Nokta he had a glow like an angel and with him came a warmth I cannot describe in words he was comforting and professional, it was unspoken but you could feel that god sent this angel to comfort us. I have never forgotten him nor will I ever forget him. When I say my morning prayers I pray for god to keep him safe, I almost lost hope in god, losing a child is something you don't want to happen to anyone. The doctor at Banner Thunderbird couldn't even make time to come talk to us, all the officers were very professional and did their best to help us while doing their job. Except the one lady officer who truly didn't care. I truly believe she's in the wrong field she was angry and not wanting to be there. If Officer Nokta's parents ever read this please know he's a true angel that changes lives. I never believed angels existed until that day, and it wasn't a spoken thing but once you feel it you know. I know my son sent him to tell us it will be ok, Officer Nokta is the last link we have to our son, the detectives did their job and were professional but there's not a day that goes by that we don't think about Officer Nokta we know he is an Angel sent by god. I know our son watches over him and no words can ever thank this Officer enough but his parents should know their Son is out in the world making a real difference. We love this officer and all the Officers even the lady who didn't want to be there. I will never get over this pain but in time I am learning to cope and redirect that pain. The community needs Officer Drew Nokta, I honestly don't know where I would be today if it weren't for him. I also thank god for sending him. His parents must be very very proud people to know what a difference their son is making. I won't post the ladies name because I don't want her receiving hate, I just pray that she learns to be a little more caring. And it should be mandatory for the doctor to talk to parents in these situations. But she never did speak to us. The caseworker and police were all there to help us but Officer Drew Nokta will forever be etched in our memory and as a Christian person I know god sent him it was an unspoken thing but the warmth and glow of him told me. Other than the fact that we have homeless and drug addicted people breaking into our laundry rooms, we have had issues with a loud neighbor for over a year now. I consistently call in to have an officer come out, but it's obvious going against tenant rights is no issue for this neighbor, nor our PD. One officer walked by last week saying "turn it down" but didn't actually do anything about it or stop to see if he actually turned it down. Let's also throw in that it takes at least 20 minutes to get anyone on the line to file any kind of complaint. read more

last November 19th was a drastic time for me. I'm 70 years old. I had missed my flight and lost my credit card and was stuck at the phoenix airport for hours at 2 a.m. in the morning. I was in tears. I didn't know how to fill out my Uber app. let alone fire up my phone and connect to wifi on my lap top. All I could do was sit by the baggage claim and cry. I sat there seemed like forever totally lost and scared. I have ptsd and was scared of strangers. The term ptsd can be used loosely but a man sprayed me with kerosene and lit me on fire after he shot and killed my friend and mortally wounded my daughter within 30 minutes. That happened years ago but here I was in a strange town falling apart and totally lost. Jose and another policeman scooped up my problems and together we set up Uber for me. They even took me and waited with me until Uber came. I hope their superiors read this. His phone died I called 911 and they said they'll get a officer out in 5-10 minutes and 30 minutes goes by not a signal officer passes but a Tahoe SUV K-9 unit flies by taps the brakes and looks at us and takes off fast and the other guy jumped in his car and met at the intersection the other guy told the officer "a dog got hit bad and we don't want to leave it and it's not dying" officer specifically said "I don't care about that dog" as some other unprofessional language and floored it and took off and criticizing the one guys driving when the K-9 SUV officer was driving like a total lunatic in the first spot. I thought the police are good and helpful and caring and especially the K-9 unit officers but I've lost hope and respect for all K-9 unit officers and the PPD. If I can get a dang apology I'd be happy and I think people will understand better. An apology and the officer on 35th Avenue in the K-9 unit SUV the two officers between Camelback and Campbell road to visit me or have the Sargent or their supervisor call me up will mean the world. I'm a animal lover I will not let a animal die on the side of a sidewalk or anywhere alone. I just wanted it removed and taken somewhere or if worst case put down but not to die on the side of the road. December 25, 2023, I contacted the Phoenix Police Department, 911, today around 1 pm. The call was in regards to a young boy that had been kidnapped and raped. I requested not to have police presence at my door due to being a new tenant. It can raise suspicions and cause judgement quickly. The 911 operator finally stated that the police department can contact me by phone. I verified my number and asked when I would hear from an officer. The operator said that they will contact me when they get around to it. It's now 10pm and I called 911 again in hopes to have follow through from the Phoenix Police department about the original call at 1pm. I was given the same run-around. I have never been so disgusted with the lack of care and concern from the individuals put into place to assist in aiding society during times of crisis. I am beside myself. The fact that a young boy has been kidnapped and raped and no one will address the matter, is blatantly disgusting and blasphemous. I feel that the Phoenix Police Department should be sued for negligence. Possibly, have certain individuals badge and rights taken away from them, as well as, their pension. For the police department of the fifth largest city in the United States, it is an amazingly awkward police department. Police response times are the worst in the country and many times they simply do not respond at all. Thank God that I am a white female because I would be truly afraid if I were a person of color or a latino/a. Any time that I have had to call the police department, they have taken hours and hours to respond, no mater what the time of day or night. They claim that they are overworked, understaffed, underpaid and yet their colleagues in other cities are doing much better with much less funding and with much less resources. And now that they are cooperating in immigration roundups and deportations and shootings, they have become even more dangerous. I really wish that there were a Police Oversight Board like in New York or Washington or Atlanta but there is not and there will never be. This is Phoenix and the law is cowboy law. I met with a team of three officers headed by Sgt. Spross and I can not tell you how impressed I was. Officers Gary Nelson and Henry Smith are top notch assets to Sgt. Spross' team. If you have neighborhood security concerns or you believe there is something not quite right with the way Phoenix PD is relating to your neighborhood... Do not sit home and feel let down... I called the Police department due to my son has been stealing to report the crime as i told my son I would do if I caught him doing it again. The officers who responded were rude and unprofessional the minute they stepped foot in my yard. I was told it was not their job to parent my kid. I didn't call you out to ground him or help him with his home work. I called to report a crime and make a report. When I tried to push the issue that I wanted to make a report I was threatened with DSC being involved if they took the report. I told them that was fine and still the officers belittled me for wanting to have them write up a report on my son because he's only 11 yrs old. I was so upset I couldn't believe that this is the response I got from the individuals who put on the uniform and proclaim to be officers of the law. Ofc. Montano and Ofc. Baniewicz thank you for taking any authority I had remaining in my sons eyes and crushing it. He is still stealing and now has no respect for me or the uniform you wear. Protect and Serve more like Criticize and Judge. You were not my first tactic to teach my son right from wrong by no means.
