I will never mark down a dog shelter that's only desire is to allow adoption of shelter dogs. It is…read morea business that is sad to look at but due society and the believe a living dog is a throwaway animal very necessary. And I back them 1000% as I do all legit animal shelters. However, in my opinion (AND IT IS JUST MY OPINION); their regulations of not allowing a current dog in a home to meet at the kennel with a possible future adoption dog; is not good for people and/or a dog they might be considering. Not everyone lives close to the shelter, some would have to travel close to 100 miles and great and meet with the dogs has always worked great for me and all my shelter dogs I have adopted in my lifetime. They do stress you have x-number of days to return, but a return can be cut down with a meet and great to get an idea of how the dogs will react. Yes, it could happen the current dog will have a problem with a new dog in a home that had no problem with the meet on neutral ground, but that never happened to me, or in fact, anyone I know who has added a shelter dog to their home with their current dog. However, it is their policy, and hopefully, more can live it, than area like me. Therefore, as I noted I have to give it five stars for doing what they do when homeless dogs. So, if you want a great breed; Rescue is the best and good luck. These homeless dogs deserve a home of their own and to be spoiled.

Many who are leaving less than stellar reviews do not fully understand how the organization is most…read moreeffective. Yes, we all want animals to have forever homes but that simply isn't always possible. An organization must maintain a focus and this organization has done that beautifully. I have volunteered at the shelter and see how much investment they make in maintaining it and keeping things clean and the animals comfortable. I have used the associated veterinary services next door and have found them caring, competent, and less expensive than many, and I have gotten dozens TNR'd through their discount program. Like any organization, it has its glitches but please don't slam them because they don't comply with your individual ideals. Btw, according to numerous articles about cats, they don't understand the concept of homelessness. They don't think they are homeless, just free and living life as it should be. We can always help make it easier for them through feeding and TNR but, otherwise, they are generally content. If you want to make this organization better VOLUNTEER!!!

I had the misfortune of dealing with her a couple of years ago as well. I was advised numerous complaints had been received about her unprofessionalism and unfortunately again this week. Time to grow up Celia and take the chip off your shoulder. People are trying to assist animals in need. Not deal with your childish attitude. Do better...
