Just hung up after telling me there was no appts left for the day and to make one for tomorrow. And when I asked when they opened she said "5pm tomorrow click." So RUDE! My son broke his arm. Don't work at a children's urgent care if you can't take a moment to help the actual kids. And not waiting until TOMORROW NIGHT to get help. That is the dumbest. We use PCH for all of our kids' care needs, having the pcp and urgent care system all connected makes everything so much easier. We have been to this urgent care a number of times, but the more recent ability to schedule online a half hour before i leave, fill out all the paperwork then load my kid and go is a complete win. No more balancing check in and tiny sock person needs. read more

Came in, NOT one person waiting in the lobby, no one was in the lobby waiting, there were two people behind the desk and asked us to scan in for an appointment, again, NO people waiting in the lobby and one family had even walked out after receiving care, so we scan in, and apparently the wait was somehow 4+ hours...unacceptable. Terrible customer service and care for what seemed like a vacant, unbusy urgent care. Another family left who was coming in behind us when we told them the wait time as well. read more

This new process for walk in patients is absolutely horrible and would not recommend coming here especially if you have other things planned for the day! Over 3 hrs of waiting we should've just went down the road to gateway hospital atleast we would've got a show! Call a head a week in advance I guess and plan your emergencies accordingly! read more

I arrived with almost no one in the parking lot, but they wouldn't let me be seen without an appointment - even though the door says "no appointment necessary". I was asked to scan a QR code to set one up, but unfortunately the next available appt was in three hours - at 9:45pm. The waiting room was almost empty. Next time I'll go somewhere else. read more

Be extremely careful about PCH billing. I went for my daughter, they kept scheduling appointments and tests . After all that they still don't know what's wrong!! Now they sent 10x bill of the estimated amount. I called several times, only money hungry unprofessional works there and didn't do anything. Wow just wow! Our appointment at Phoenix Children's Hospital Blood Disease Center was so helpful, refreshing and actually gave me hope for the future. We saw hematologist, Dr. Williams. My baby girl has been sick 2-4 times per month, with chronic diarrhea, since she got Covid 19 months ago (she was 1.5 month old). Dr Williams took his time with us and really listened. He did a lot of bloodwork and even tested to see if she is missing her spleen. No other doctors mentioned that can cause some of her other symptoms. He looked up all of her labs and test, done from other specialist, prior to our appointment, so he was already familiar with what had been done, what needed to be done and her diagnosis she has. I left feeling very heard. I think he really cares about helping kids and helping parents that are worried about their kids. I swear he seemed like an actor out of a movie playing the character of an amazing doctor. I was and still am so impressed. I now see why the referring dr spoke so highly of him. He was also very good with my daughter. She has been poked and prodded by so many providers/machines/etc. her whole life. So, she usually cries the whole time, at all her visits, but she didn't there and she really trusted him because he took his time with her and even let her play with his stethoscope. I keep telling people about this doctor. I'm so grateful that her immunologist, Dr Shimamoto (he's a fabulous doctor also) recommended him. The front desk staff were also wonderful and friendly. The nurses and blood drawers were also great. Everyone was easy to talk to. They were all exceptional with Hazel and made her feel seen. They even gave her a full sized Mrs. Potato head toy after they drew her blood. She had a swallow study done at this location (about six months ago in a different department) and that also went very well. read more

Just waited for two hours with my child who has a high fever and ear ache. Said just wait a couple days then see your pcp. I honestly wouldn't be sitting in there at 11:00 at night if this wasn't a major ear ache. Hate docs like this. Don't waste your time at this place. read more

The front desk staff is so rude here. I brought my son in and there was one other child waiting in the lobby. During registration my son had diarrhea that went through his pants so I asked where I could go to change him quickly. When I came back, out of being courteous I apologized for having to leave to change his diaper (which I should never have to even apologize for) and she responded with, "Good thing we're not busy or I wouldn't be able to let you do that." I looked at her in disbelief and responded, "Well, I'm not going to let my son sit in a dirty diaper." Appalling customer service. Staff once we got called back were nice. You need to hire new front desk personnel or train them in customer service. And I should know, I'm a nurse at a EV hospital. read more

Had to make a quick visit to the PCH urgent care after a small fall off our bed. Wait was minimal both to get into a room and then to see a provider. Waiting areas were clean as were the bathrooms. We did find a wrapper at the base of the examining table which was kind of gross. Never know what the child before us was in for. Dr Chris was very nice. Examined our child quickly and answered all our questions. We didn't feel rushed or anything just took care of things in a very timely manner. After a brief wait we got our discharge papers and were on our way. Definitely recommend this facility for future after hours falls, colds, etc. read more

I didn't make it past the front desk or see a doctor, but I figured it'd be important to pass along the info that trying to utilize their urgent care before 5pm is a no-go. You will be sent away. Front desk guy was perfectly nice. The whole clinic seemed nice and put together; just irritated that this info was neither listed on here or online. Should probably change the name from being specialty clinic AND urgent care since it's a bit misleading. Maybe "... And After-Hours Urgent Care." We have had pretty good luck at this location and I do understand that they get busy because there aren't a bunch of Children's options in the East Valley on the weekends; however, a two hour wait at an urgent care for a maybe 10 minute visit is tough to stomach, especially with a miserable one year old that I can't explain anything to. Better communication would have been nice. Had I known we would wait that long, I probably would have gone somewhere else. And then she wanted to say well how about I just send you to the er, no I don't want to go to the er I came here, an X-ray could've been done I've been here multiple times and all the other time physician care has been good, but I will not be allowing my family to see that specific physician she had no bedside sympathy/empathy and then . She had to come back and correct my son and I on his diagnosis yet she was not there the day they discovered his abscess. My almost 16 year old son had arthroscopic shoulder surgery yesterday, from beginning to end the front office/billing/nurses and Dr Vaughn were over the top kind/caring and accommodating. I had taken my 3 children (now grown) to this facility for the last 16 years when we had after hours situations. This past year my eldest daughter gave birth to our grand baby and last night she was running a low-grade fever and had a runny nose, so on the side of caution I recommended my daughter take her to this facility to have her ears checked. Let's just say it was a traumatic experience and we will never be returning. I am disheartened that we have somehow lost compassion and the ability to be an advocate for our children without being bullied, scared, or made to feel like you are a bad parent for refusing invasive tests, wanting a 2nd opinion, or desiring to wait a few hours to see if further action is really needed. Has covid changed our ability to question seeming unnecessary procedure and tests to a months old baby who has had a fever for only a few hours and is also teething? I felt helpless to hear my daughter feel cornered, crying, and anxious. Thankfully I live in a community and have several neighbors who are medical professionals and came over to talk her through it. Please be kids to parents. New parents need help, not ridicule and we would never put our baby in danger. You've lost a long time family PCH. Try being a better listener and respect a parents desires. The baby woke up this morning back to normal and I am proud of my daughter for holding her ground. read more

I have used this urgent care for a few years and have always been mostly ok with the service and treatment. I took my 8 year old there on Saturday night after she had been running a fever with complaints of earaches and a sore throat. I knew she wasn't well and trusted my child when she said she wanted to go to the doctor. I was ok with the nurse taking a throat a throat culture because I wasn't sure what was wrong (I work in medicine). Turns out her throat culture was positive for strep. Dr Hindman was advised that she had mostly ear infections recently and the year prior she had strep throat several times. Dr Hindman tells me that they don't provide antibiotics due to recent clinical research (research says if you over provide it can cause problems) and that she had no findings. She said to take her to my PCP when she is well and have her tested for strep because she has a virus. She stated that my daughter is a carrier and doesn't actually have strep. Dr Hindman stared she will always test positive when she is a carrier. She was talking down to me the whole time even though I made it clear I have a medical background. She has no bedside manner. She also told my daughter to make sure she was peeing three times a day (yes thank you lady). No point. So now it's Tuesday and my daughter has a fever of 105 (she's been sick since we left urgent care with fevers increasing and active complaints of pain, headache and sore throat) and again has a positive throat culture at her PCP. Her PCP was shocked at the treatment I received and my daughter was in severe pain as of today. Guess Dr Hindman didn't get the training in school that complaints of pain are subjective (they are what the patient says they are) and findings on diagnostic studies are considered objective and valid. I would absolutely never let this physician treat your child and don't know that I will go back. All of my faith in Phoenix Children's Urgent Care just went out the door. There is no reason not to treat a child that has symptoms which include subjective complaints of pain with a positive throat culture. I sure hope she see this and knows my daughter suffered because of her incompetence and unwillingness to give her Amoxicillin. read more

Get off your high horse on Covid and let both parents come in with their child. Especially if they are both vaccinated. This is outrageous. Not only does the child need to be supported but sometimes the other parent needs support too, especially if it's their first child that is severely sick and needs attention. That's the only reason you get one star. Besides that their pediatric doctors are really nice and worth going to but the urgent care is iffy. read more

I have never used this office as an urgent care, but we have to go here for some scheduled appointments for one of my daughter's doctors. The care we receive by her doctor is 5*. I wish his office was at the main hospital in Phoenix still. Here's why I don't like having scheduled appointments for non-sick children at this facility: When a child is not sick, it does not make sense to expose the child to other children who ARE sick to the effect that they are in an Urgent Care facility Also, there are signs, not at the entrance of the building or inside the entrance, but on the check in desks that indicate if you have traveled to certain countries in Africa to notify someone there immediately. This does not seem like an effective way to contain something, seeing as though you actually check in first on a monitor and then are called up some minutes later to check in at the desk to sign paperwork. I hate going to this location and I feel I have to sanitize my hands several times during the visit since there are coughing, sneezing, sniffling, crying kids on every visit sitting in the same waiting room that we are in. read more

There's closer urgent cares to us, but we prefer to visit this facility. It's a PCH, which makes me feel more confident about the pediatric care than your typical strip mall urgent care. The staff is friendly, hours are great and we usually see a doctor within about 15 minutes -- key when you have an irritable sick kid. We usually see Dr. Young, who is knowledgable and takes time to explain why my son is sick and how to get him better. Access to this level of pediatric care is both convenient and reassuring. read more

I have used this urgent care first time back in January as PCP couldn't provide the appointment. Both of my sons 3.7 and 6 months got heavy fever on/off with cold. Staff was nice and just did the basis checks ( temp checking, etc) and asked to give Tylenol/ Motrin. My 3.7 was never so calm... told concern and I checked with them as this is a cold season do we need to do any thing else? They said NO. Keep repeat regular medicine and see the PCP ( In case need just to go ER) After two days we went to PCP ( Again phoenix children group been using from my first child birth ) and they inquired did we go to urgent care and check. Etc.. the cold and fever symptoms are same.. they performed the Flu test and it was type-b ( most of the people got it this year).. as it's flu and passed 24-36 hrs they couldn't give any medicine. Finally all house hold ended up with flu for 2 weeks +. I feel a clear service lag in this. When received the bill and try to address the concern with customer care they also don't have any word.. other than we served .. I use to go to other urgent care they are far better. I am going to rethink to use this urgent care any time. read more

I'm torn with this place. Ive been here twice before for after hours urgent care and the wait was minimal, like 10 mins. This is where they get 4 starts. That was great but today i have an appointment and have been waiting to go back for an hour now. It is a simple visit, just here to have a cast taken off. Good urgent care center. Saw a nurse within 15 min of arriving. Nursing staff was helpful and comforting to my daughter. MD was also handled my daughter very well (...as would be expected). Facility is clean and has lots of entertainment for the children to play with while waiting. Overall, very good experience. read more

My 3 year old had was screaming in pain of course on a Saturday evening. I was freaked out and called a few urgent cares, some were closed and others had super long waits. When I arrived here is was able to get him checked in and in a room without even waiting. All the staff were very kind and good with my sick baby. The amount that Progressive Management Collections NEVER contacted me about was paid in full 5 MONTHS AGO, and my Transunion and Experian credit reports do not reflect anything.
