I had visited Phoebe's for the occasional latte and pastry, a sandwich here and there, and have always been happy with the taste of their food and very friendly service. Once while having coffee with a friend at the Cooper Point location, the server brought creamer over to our table because she saw our hands were full with crawling babies, even though the creamer is on a self-serve station - so nice of her to notice how she could help us! I ordered my baby's birthday cake from Phoebe's and the process was easy. I went with their standard 1/4 sheet cake, no special decorations. However, when my husband picked up the cake, the "standard" cake was beautiful! The icing was well done with piping on the edges, and a cute sign with the birthday message. The funny part is that when I cut into the cake, my husband asked what flavor it was and was disappointed to hear it was carrot cake - but one bite in and he was sold! The carrot cake was amazing! So flavorful and moist, just sweet enough, chunks of raisins and goodies, perfect amount of cream cheese frosting to balance the cake. It was a huge hit at the party and we were glad to have leftovers to ourselves! Helpful hint: The Cooper Point location has a sign board out on the sidewalk, almost always with balloons, so that you know where to turn into the office complex to get to them. However, if you're driving a bit quick and miss the sign and driveway like I often do, you can turn into the next driveway and work your way through the office complex parking lot to still reach them. So don't fret if you miss your turn, you can still get to them! read more

Hands down! My kids and I just went there and they are so friendly, great customer service and the best best best cakes! I have had a sweet tooth since before I even had teeth. . The cake is so moist and it just melts once you take a bite. We also got the meringue cookies that they had, wonderfully balanced! My daughter got the heart cookie and she devoured it. She is very picky about sweets because she is more of a sour person, but she loved it! Love love love the cakes! Of course they have wonderful slices of cake, as I well know, but I had their chicken caesar salad and it was fabulous. The generous portion of chicken was cut up just right, lots of crispy bite size lettuce, little tomatoes, and even black olives. I always drive by Phoebe's Pastry Cafe and never really got a chance to go until today. The cafe is really cute and different compared to other bakeries. They have variety of the normal bakery items and sandwiches. They also carry Batdorf and Bronson coffee, which if you've tried there coffee you know it's legit. There isn't much i door seating but they have plenty of outdoor seating so definitely come when the weather is a bit nicer. I ordered a cranberry orange scone with a English toffee latte...it was yummy. I'll definitely be coming here again. read more

This place isn't within range of my usual lunch area but I happened to be near by and figured why not. It was a good choice. The atmosphere was simply decorated but they used rich colors. The place was fairly empty on this visit. The selection of food looked pretty good and the pastries were amazing. (I tried a blueberry scone and a gluten free thingy off the counter) Pricing from what I looked at didn't seem out of line. If recent events in life return I will be able to stop in again. I really wish that I had a better review to write. I stopped in today to try a slice of cake. I always love to find hidden gems and local bakeries. I was a little surprised that one slice of cake was about $6.50 after taxes. The woman who helped me was not very friendly overall but, they asked you if you want to leave them a tip. ( For handing me something.) It's definitely awkward to say no in that situation so the price went up from there. The flavor of the cake itself was not bad however, the slice I received was very very stale and for nearly $7 I would expect it to blow my socks off. Far from that. This is a cute little pastry and coffee shop near the auto mall in Olympia. The coffee beverages seems to be about the same price at Starbucks, but didn't taste as burned as the ones at Starbucks. I really liked the pastries here, especially the cookies. I just wish the cookies were a little cheaper, the peanut butter chocolate one is around $3. This would be a cozy place to grab a cup of coffee and catch up with a friend. There aren't big tables, so if you're going with a big group, you'd probably need to split into smaller groups if you're planning to sit. Parking is on the street but it's not very difficult to find a parking spot. This is close to a bunch of law offices and medical offices. I just wish that they were open for a longer period as this is a breakfast and lunch place only. I really liked their pastrami as well as the olive tapenade spread that they have. The sandwiches here are totally dominated by toasted carbs and melted cheese. I prefer a more harmonious mix of bread, cheese and meat, with some fresh veggies to brighten it up. So, I didn't enjoy Phoebe's as much as some people might. Plus our pastry was a tad stale. The ambience is not cozy, but it's clean and comfortable enough. So glad I've discovered Phoebe's! It's kind of in a strange location -- in the middle of an office park with some law firms and that sort of thing, but once you step inside you're surrounded by a warm ambiance that feels like home. Here are the things I've tried so far: 1) Breakfast sandwich with feta, egg, spinach, and pesto on an English muffin -- while it wasn't big enough to be my entire breakfast, it was really tasty. 2) Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies -- so soft and chewy and moist, with dark chocolate chips, and a swirl of dark chocolate on the top. Baked perfectly! 3) Maybe the #1 reason to go here: cinnamon rolls, hot out of the oven and covered with cream cheese frosting. The cinnamon rolls are no joke. They are GIGANTIC and soooooo, soooooo good. 4) Cup of coffee. I'm a coffee lover so I wasn't expected to be even satisfied with the coffee, but it was solid. It's no Olympia Coffee Roasting Co, but it didn't disappoint for a morning cuppa joe. Where to start...First off this little gem is hidden in a most unlikely setting. You need to pay close attention to the sign on the street! Pastry Chef Phoebe and her staff are truly talented and amazing bakers and artists . There is nothing that they don't take to that next level of yumminess. The food and coffee also do not disappoint. And right in the middle of everything is Phoebe herself: joyful and welcoming. Clearly, she loves what she's doing and it shows. Went here twice in one week, if you "like" their facebook page you get a picture of the daily special...but be forwarned, you might end up making excuses on making a trip to the Westside during the day. From what I can tell, there are "staple" sandwiches/paninis (italian, tuna, ham, breakfast varieties) in the case and then a different special a few times a week. day 1 order: Turkey, Bacon Avocado sandwich, Grilled on Sourdough. mmmm melt in your mouth, perfection. This was one of those specials that came across and had me driving across town. Also picked up a German Chocolate Tart, it was delicious! Day 2: Got there late (about 2:30) and the sandwich selection had dwindled, but I would rather have fewer to choose from with the comfort in knowing that tomorrows food will be fresh! We shared a mediterranean chicken panini and a cup of Shrimp Pasta. The shrimp pasta was creamy and delicate with flavors coming from fresh ingredients, dill, bell peppers, tomatoes and of course, shrimp. Although you can buy a single slice, I look forward to the next birthday celebration because I would love to order a cake from Phoebe. Phoebe's is my happy place. Really. Good day. Bad day. I love this place. I love the happy, smiley people that greet you when you walk in the door. I love that they ALWAYS have the food you want when you want it. I love that they know you as a "regular" and that you will want "the usual"... Eating gluten-free can be challenging when choosing to eat at a pastry café. However, the broccoli, cauliflower, and bacon salad is simply the best and most satiating food I have found in months. I eat it for breakfast four out of seven days a week. I particularly love that the staff knows that I eat broccoli for breakfast rather than a fresh, hot, sticky, yummy cinnamon roll... and they love me all the same! When I have "glutened" myself their cheesecakes are delicious. And my kiddo absolutely LOVES their cute decorated cookies. She's had everything from smiley faces to snowflakes to fall-colored leaves... All intricately decorated! With a variety of options of sandwiches and pastries, this place offers a warm, homey atmosphere with low-priced, quality coffee. This place is a gem. I had grilled pastrami and Swiss on rye, potato salad, and an orange Sanpellegrino. It was good. What was even better was being able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine while eating lunch. The location makes this place a little hard to find, but business seemed brisk. Great coffee shop hidden away in an office park. Despite the out-of-the-way location, there's lots of space inside and comfortable seating, as well as power outlets and wifi.
