a bowl of soup on a table

Got the appetizer wonton soup and it was more than enough for one person. Several different sizes to choose from when ordering main dishes. We didn't wait very long for our food but we barely saw our waitress. Drink glasses were slow to get filled. My hubby raves about his wonton soup. Really loved the flavors and will definitely return.

Grilled Chicken Pho Take-out!

This place is so good! I ordered two medium Grilled Chicken Pho and fresh spring rolls for pick-up on my way home from work and I am so glad I did. The portion size was great - I could have been full with a small. I like the amount of noodles, bean sprouts, and chicken that they pack in there. I had enough for last night snack! The spring rolls tasted nice and fresh - only down side was that they did not come with the peanut dipping sauce. Not sure if that was just a mistake? All and all, I will be ordering again. This may become my new favourite Pho.

Pic is deceiving. Good portion sizes. Will be satisfied.

Broth is getting more and more flavourful every time. Meaning more visits these coming winter months. And staff is always friendly. Big CON. NO VISA. Dislike. Caveat Emptor.

Grilled chicken vermicelli

Let me start by saying, I'm not new to Pho, I go almost once a week to my favourite pho place in the downtown core. Let me start with the good: Pho Windsor is new and clean. The waitresses are nice. The bad: the food is not good!! I ordered grilled chicken vermicelli and kid's size chicken pho. I didn't enjoy either! The pho's broth is bland and light, the chicken tastes just like any typical cheap Chinese restaurant chicken. The vermicelli was bland and the chicken is lightly grilled and tastes chewy. I didn't finish any. My wife could not eat her vermicelli. My son ordered Pad Thai and he ate a small portion only. I hope this place improves, as it is always nice to have a good pho place in this area, and to have a successful owners.

I know a lot of people who really wanted a pho restaurant not in the west end or downtown. So here's Pho Windsor, a block over from Cora's (same side) and in the same plaza as Starbucks. Right off the bat, this place is open everyday from 11am-10pm (closing one hour earlier than Xic Lo). The interior is modern but most importantly clean. There are four booths, eight tables of four, two tables of two (one set has chairs and the other is half chair and half booth), and five tables against the wall (half chairs and half booth). I ordered the following: A10 Crispy spring rolls/Cha Gio (2pcs) (made with shrimp ground pork, taro, carrot, thin vermicelli wrapped with spring roll pastry) $3.50 A11 Shrimp and pork salad rolls/Goi Cuon (2pcs) (made with shrimp, pork, lettuce, bean sprouts, vermicelli wrapped with rice paper and served with peanut sauce) $4.50 S31 Seafood rice noodle soup/Hu Tieu Do Bien (in a chicken broth with shrimp, fish balls, squid, crab meat, bean sprouts, onions, chives, choice of egg noodles, ride noodles, or thick vermicelli) I chose a small bowl and rice noodles $8.50 *** for Seafood and Chicken Noodle Soups, the three sizes cost more than the Beef Soups. Small: $8.50 L: $9.50 XL: $10.50 The waitress was kind and asked if I'd like water or something else to drink but I went with water. She didn't hover while I was thinking of what to order which is always nice. She came back to check if I was ready and read her off my orders. I did ask for six chili peppers and a takeout menu too which she kindly said no problem. My appetizers came out first and she brought over the takeout menu and a little bowl with three chili peppers. I don't really take offense to that since everywhere I go always gives me less peppers than I ask for (I get it. Don't be wasteful but I always need six that's why I ask for six). The spring rolls come with fish sauce and they tasted good. They tasted like the ones at Xic Lo. The summer rolls (let's just basic name them) were good too. They're not better than Nguyen Hoang's but way better than Xic Lo's. The peanut sauce was average. Next my pho came out. Despite what the menu said about my order, I had to ask for bean sprouts. I also asked for three more chili peppers. The waitress was friendly and didn't seem annoyed by my requests. She came back with a small handful of bean sprouts and my peppers. I wasn't sure if I'd be charged for more bean sprouts but I decided against asking. The chicken broth was actually very tasty! It's similar to Xic Lo but probably half as salty which I really liked! I did not get any fish balls or crab meat which was sad but I did get lettuce and fish. The best part about my pho was that it was the same size as Xic Lo's regular seafood pho but half as salty and a dollar cheaper :) (Pho Xic Lo regular size: $9.49 vs Pho Windsor small size: $8.50) I personally like this place and will come back. REMINDER: This place only accepts CASH or DEBIT. Pros: Not as salty, my usual bowl is cheaper here, they have banh mi (Viet sandwiches) combos here, free parking (huge lot since they share with other businesses, there is parking behind/side of the restaurant too!), and there's FREE WI-FI WHICH DOESN'T SUCK! Cons: The appetizers here cost a little extra than other pho places, the beef phos sizes and prices cost a little more (Small: $7.99, L: $8.99, XL: $9.99), doesn't accept credit I have a Viet friend who had the P20 Special House Beef Noodle Soup/Pho Dac Biet and she found it very bland. She was comparing it to home flavour and other pho restaurants too. My parents also had the P20 and found it very bland. My brother says the dishes here are like Xic Lo. So take what you will with a grain of salt and come try it out anyway :)

P20 special.

Staying in Windsor for work, craving for phone and went here. Very attentive and nice staff, better than what you would expect from an inexpensive Asian restaurant. Had a bowl of extra large pho, taste authentic and on par with what I had in Toronto. Only down side is the portion feel smaller than what I am used too. I easily downed the whole bowl and drank the soup as well.

visited south windsors new pho place twice in the past week and have been impressed both times. today i ordered the shrimp curry and it did not dissapoint. it was nice to see some vegetables in this dish, but still not as many as i am used to in toronto pho places. i spent most of my life in Toronto eating awesome ethnic foods, so i am happy to south windsor restaurants expanding from its traditional windsor pizza! last we ordered beef pho and i loved it....absolutely delicious! we also had a chicken pad tai. it wasnt like a traditional pad tai that i am accustomed to. the chicken was on the side charbroiled and crispy, now it was very good, my huaband loved it. however i am used to chicken breast emmersed within the pad tai with the sauce. the noodles and sauce were very good, but they were plain...no veggies at all mixed in!!! i think the owner should revisit this decision. now the milkshakes are very good. thet are made with real fruit, which is nice for a change. my favorite is strawberry and avocado. its not on the menu, but if you write it down, they will make it. they typically serve the milkshake at the end of the meal, so if your like me and want to sip on it with your meal, you need to tell them when you want it and they will do it.

So delicious pho chicken soup: I had steamed chicken and it was amazing, and the wife had grilled chicken that was crispy tender awesomeness

This was the best photo experience I've had in the Windsor area in the last four years. I'm already obsessing about going back this weekend. Even my kids liked the food. I would recommend the pho grilled chicken soup.

This is a legitimate/authentic Vietnamese restaurant with Vietnamese owners (some of the kitchen staff used to work at Pho Xic-Lo). Great restaurant. I've been back more times now. I also noticed that each time I go there, more and more people are dining in and taking out. I've had both pho and vermicelli (bun) and they're great. I have yet to try their rice (com) dishes. This is the only pho restaurant in the area (the majority of others are in the downtown area). They also offer tax-free pho prices on Monday-Tuesday 2:30-4PM (there's also a sign outside on Walker that says that).

two plates of food on a table

My mom and I ordered Pad Thai, Tofu and Chicken The sauce was delicious, decent portions and it tasted fresh. Definitely wish there was a balance between carrots and bean sprouts.

Huge portions!

Simple interior but that does not take away from a very good, tasty Pho. Will definitely go back.

Soup base is lacking in taste and shrimp balls are not as shown. They were very small. Service overall is slow.
