My rating is honestly a little low because of the bun Bo hue. They have very good pho, but the bun Bo hue needs work. The menu said pork hock, but mine came with pig feet. The meat was tough and source. The broth was perfectly spicy but lack depth of flavor (like it was watered down. Plus it didn't come with the standard vegetable like banana blossom, cabbage or mint. Not awful but not great and it was inauthentic. Go for the pho.

So far in my search for traditional, reasonable, and quality pho in the DMV, this is my top contender as of now. The service was nice and quick, once you order the pho, its a seamless process. I love the touches of the paper mats and the simple tableside selection of hoisin or sriracha. The menu is also written in Vietnamese, which is not hard to understand there is an English translation, but I love it when resturants do it because it keeps some resemblance to the homeland the owners are from, and that unwavering connection to the home is what keeps the spirit of the food so good. The pho came made to order and pipping hot. They really have it down because their broth was clear, rich, and deep in flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked and retained its bight til I got to the end of the bowl. The selection of meat is also authentic, and a lot of pho menus in the DMV shy away from organ meat, but its what makes pho so delicious and varied in texture so I was so delighted to see it on their menu. Toppings were all correct, and had a wonderful time eating here! Will be coming more now that I know how Metro accessible this place is!

Decent pho. Got the basics right but first time I've experienced a bowl and longed for more noodles. Other better, more flavorful phos imo in the DMV area so keep looking. Service was fine and place was clean.

I took my daughter to the University of Maryland to retake her graduation photos. Afterward, we stopped by Pho Thom for dinner. My daughter said Pho Thom is a well-known spot near the UMD College Park MD. We easily found the restaurant and parked at the nearby CVS lot, just a one-minute walk away. Pho Thom recently reopened in a newly renovated space. The design feels modern and clean, with a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The owner warmly welcomed us and shared that they've been running the business for about 15 years. They moved from their old location to this beautifully updated space. We ordered a bowl of Vietnamese beef noodle soup and a shrimp Pad Thai. I've tried pho at other places before, but the broth often tasted too heavy with MSG or seasoning, leaving my mouth dry. After eating at Pho Thom, I didn't feel that dryness at all. The broth tasted light and fresh, and I could tell they used healthy, high-quality ingredients. My daughter also enjoyed her shrimp Pad Thai, it was flavorful but not greasy. This was the best Vietnamese beef noodle soup I've had in over 20 years. I truly appreciate how much care the owner puts into preparing healthy and delicious meals. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Pho Thom is one of my go-to take-out spots. A mix of Vietnamese and Thai, I highly recommend the P-2 and P-7 pho options, their grilled lemongrass pork (with spring roll) over either rice or vermicelli noodles, and the Pad See Ew. I've never dined in mainly because parking is a little difficult, but it's always very busy whenever I stop in to pick up my food. While I can't speak to the dine-in service, the hosts are as attentive as they can be for to-go orders when it's very busy. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is always consistently delicious. Definitely a staple take-out spot in the Hyattsville/College Park area.

I always eat here and the customer service experience was phenomenal per usual! I ordered trh basil rice with chicken and light spice and the stinger beans still were crispy and cooked to perfection. The sauce was very rich in flavor and coated the chicken well. When eaten with the jasmine rice it was a total experience! Thanks Pho Tom!

I used to always come to this spot for pho with friends but my recent two visits have made me consider checking out a new pho place to go to as a regular. The first time I found a gnat in my pho. Not too much of an issue but the second time I found multiple bugs or flies in my pho. I saw a winged small gnat and bugs with legs (very small) but might be from the bean sprouts or the veggies because they didn't wash them?? Not too sure, but it really turned me away from eating.

Delicious and authentic Vietnamese cuisine, not just food. Very quick service in a nice , casual atmosphere. Everything was delicious! Try the Brisket Pho!

Food: We ordered a variety of food between pho, pad Thai, chicken satay, yum beef, and pla pow wahn. Everything was fantastic! The noodles, broth, and meat in the pho were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The yum beef was VERY spicy (even coming from an Asian family with heat good tolerance!), the satay was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The pad Thai was flavorful and the table LOVED it! Service: This was a little rough. It was busy, but we did see our waitress walk by and look over many times without checking in or refilling (or offering to refill) water. We had to ask for the sauce caddies that tend to come with the food and tables. I will say the owner or manager was very on point. She made space by pulling one of the front desk dining tables they were using to set carry out orders to combine with another so we could sit together (about 5 of us, so more than a 4 person table but not anything huge). When she saw the waitress hadn't cleaned the table well before we were seated she was sure to call her back and finish the job. Overall, I recommend Pho Thom. My family and I have been coming here when they visit since I moved to the area five years ago (and even when I just had been flying in and out looking for a place to live). Always consistently good food!

I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was good and that's all! Park across the street and walk so you don't have to circle around for street parking.

This has been a go to spot in college park for years now. Their pad se ew is delicious and fresh. Their pho is also great, however overpriced. Never really had to wait long for a table, and pho comes out quick. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

We stopped by Pho Thom on a Saturday evening. I was disappointed as prices were on the higher end and portions (specifically for the pho) were small. We ordered a large pho for ~$13, which had almost no noodles. I'm not sure if they were running low or if this is the norm for their restaurant, but it was definitely the least amount of noodles I have seen in pho. The flavor was good - I just wish the proportions were more even. The lemongrass pork dish was also slightly oily. Overall, definitely not the best Vietnamese food I've had and I would recommend checking out other places to eat in the area.

This updated review is based on my most recent takeout experience. I ordered a small pho (#4) - extra spicy. I specified that I wanted extra jalapenos and extra sriracha. The guy who took my order said ok and asked if I wanted extra cilantro as well. I said no but I could tell he didn't quite understand. I got home excited to enjoy my pho but I was disappointed. No extra spicy nothing was included as I had requested. They put the brown sauce and sriracha in one container so it was mixed up together...ugh! I don't even like the brown sauce. The meat which wasn't much was inside the extra salty broth. Maybe they thought I wanted my broth extra salty! This was my first time trying their pho and it'll be my last. I'm sticking to my regular spot!

I had the Pad Kee Mao with pork as my protein. I have also tried their Pad Thai. Both were tasty and filling meals.

The broth was light yet rich, the rice noodles were perfectly cooked, and the shrimp were tender. The shumai were juicy, and the fried dumplings had the perfect crispy bite without being greasy. I also appreciated the fresh bean sprouts and herbs served on the side--they really elevated the pho. The restaurant was clean, the food came out quickly, and the portions were generous for the price. Whether you're craving a cozy bowl of pho or just want delicious dumplings, this spot delivers. This place offers Vietnamese cuisine, with a menu that goes a bit beyond the standards and has some decent vegan options, which is essential given that this is a notoriously hippie neighborhood. I found many people talking about having or not having reservations, but I managed to get in early. They had a slight happy hour discount on rolls, and Vietnamese rolls are invariably great, for reasons that include taro root, but here the roll was really a platter with multiple vegetables; since they came out freshly fried, I actually did a bit of a lettuce wrap technique to be able to break apart and eat them. Ordering a tofu vermicelli bowl got me a good but not great rendition; the cucumbers are not to my taste and the sauce they had to drizzle over it, while fish-free, was a bit sweet and not to my taste either. The portion size wasn't huge for the price, but fortunately I wasn't starving. Having said that, they also had a small market section with imported goods and house sauces and pickled vegetables that looked nice, and the fresh herbal flavors I received certainly made a strong case for me to come back and try something different.

We were looking for a place with gluten free options and they have plenty here! They even have a gluten free fish sauce which was great.
