I've had an amazing experience at Pho Metro. The service is always great, and the food is really, really good. We went in and a waiter came right away to check on us and take our order. The food arrived in about 10-15 minutes. I've been here countless times, and the food has always been consistently good. One time, my friend didn't really like what she ordered, and a staff member immediately offered us a discount. We tried to insist on paying, but she genuinely insisted on giving it to us, which was really kind and appreciated. It's a bit on the pricier side, but nothing too crazy for the quality and service you get. The inside feels really cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to sit down and enjoy your meal. Pho Metro is a spot I keep coming back to because everything is consistently good. Parking is easy, and service is friendly every time. The owner remembers guests by name, which makes the place feel very homey and welcoming. The menu is classic Vietnamese food with a good variety. Really solid location for viet food whenever we're in the area and dont' know what to eat. First the Bahn Mi's are AMAZING. Stuffed to the brim and absolutely delicious. Quick too to order and enjoy. The sit down area is a bit tight. We normally order take out when we want to order from here. Their Pho is pretty good. Nothing super special, but very comforting. Highly recommend the Bún Riêu (H9) - Vietnamese crab, pork & tomato noodle soup. Seafood freshness blended in quite well with the tomato broth. Spring Rolls (A1) undoubtedly is a must when you go for pho. Nicely made, simply tasty! Grilled chicken, grilled pork & bean curd skin + shrimp with rice (C9) gives you a good variety of Viet grilling flavor. Beef ball noodle soup (P5) and the clear noodle soup with mixed seafood, pork & quail egg (H1) are great classic soup bowls. I really like the clear noodle a lot. Hands down my favourite Pho spot in the city. This is literally my go to spot after a night out partying or even just when the craving hits. It always satisfies and it's consistently so good. I always order the house special pho and a side of their crispy spring rolls. I loveeeeeeeee their spring rolls. Ambiance is what you would expect any pho restaurant in Scarborough to be like. I stumbled upon Pho Metro when stepping through the door looking for a Bahn Mi. The two places share and entrance and dining area but have separate kitchens. Anyway, the latter was closed so I elected to try the Pho restaurant. As many have mentioned, the queue for seating is joined by adding your name and mobile telephone number to a tablet near the entrance. On a Saturday evening just after 6PM and the wait was less than 5-minutes. Once seated, my server brought menu cards, a pot of tea, and an order pad and pen. I thought briefly about ordering pho but instead chose Bún thịt nướng - Rice vermicelli with grilled pork. I loved it, my meal arrive quickly and the noodles were tender and fresh, the pork perfectly grilled, and the vegetables crisp. The portion size was very satisfying. I ordered the Rare Beef Noodle Soup, as I don't like some of the other meat that normally comes in Pho, like tripe. The broth is super fresh and soothing. It's got a light ginger, cilantro taste. I'm not even a broth person, but Pho, and specifically this restaurant, is my absolute favourite. Went at 5 pm on a Sunday, heard this place is very busy but turns out to be relatively vacant, but their service speed was still quite slow because of how much takeout they do. Got fried chicken wings(dry) and bun bo hue. My friends got pho, spring rolls and their rice house special. I have not really tried bun bo hue before but from the reviews I saw people say they are the best, so decided to give it a go. The portion is huge, I got a medium and I couldn't finish it at all, it is a little bit too spicy for me but it is overall very flavorful! Chicken wings is good, crispy and flavorful, but you can find similar taste anywhere. I honestly think their seating limit and "we don't split bills for more than 4 ppl" is a little stupid, because it is such a trivial thing to do, it's their choice. Is it good? Pho Metro is currently my goto Pho place in Scarborough. This place just does Pho right!. I've tried multiple menu items and think they have all been delicious! Today, it was raining & cold so, I went with their House Special Pho Noodle Soup P1 - small. This noodle soup is just what the doctor ordered to warm your body and soul. The "House Special" like most Pho places consist of rice noodles, rare beef, brisket, beef balls & tripe in a rich savory beef broth. Bean sprouts, basil, and a wedge of lime come on the side as well. The broth here is so flavourful, I rarely chose to add side condiments like Hoisin or Sriracha. I felt a bit spicy today, so I had a sqiurt of Sriracha. A little goes a long way. You don't want to mask that broth, just enhance it. For people that are concerned or put off by the rare meat, don't be. The rare beef is sliced so thinly that it cooks in the hot broth. I believe this is to ensure that your beef is tender and not overcooked. There's not much more I can say about this Pho that hasn't already been said by reviewers. It's just SIMPLY YUMMY! I also ordered the deep fried shrimp & pork spring rolls, but to me, they are just average good. Maybe on the smallish size compared to other places. This location seems eternally busy even after normal lunch hours, which explains why they have a posted 1 hour seating limit. However, I have never seen them have to enforce this policy as the service is fast. I went around 4:30pm on a Thursday and was seated immediately. The kitchen is like a well-oiled machine. The food arrives literally minutes after you order. This is not a hangout spot, it's more of an eat and go place, and the decor reflects that. The restaurant is clean, but it to me has an old school vibe, nothing modern or trendy... just the way I like it. They accept debit, credit and cash. AND if you pay with cash, you get 10% off! Rather than playing hopscotch, we did our homework in advance by scanning the menu and selecting these Sunday afternoon delights: A5 Gỏi cuốn tôm thịt - Shrimp and pork rice paper rolls B2 Bún thịt nướng - Vermicelli with grilled pork P12 Phở tái saté - Rare beef with spicy satay noodle soup N17 Chè 3 màu - Vietnamese 3 colour bean dessert The P12 noodles where good but the rare beef should have served on a separate plate to allow the customer to add whenever they wanted. Thin cuts of meat swimming in hot broth destroys the texture fast. The spicy soup broth was a disappointment as it wasn't flavourful. I enjoyed my B2 vermicelli and the accompanying green tea that was provided after we handed over our completed order sheet. I finally dropped by this place. The joint was busy, many people waiting for food or a table. Many here, perhaps like myself, compelled to give the joint a sample cause of all the reviews. Well I lurvvvvv Vietnamese flavours. Lemongrass, nuoc cham, freshness of herbs and garlic. I was craving 'bun ga nuong' | vermicelli noodle bowl with vietnamese lemongrass chicken, but they don't offer lemongrass chicken so I picked up their #3a chicken bun with spring roll. It did not at all meet my expectations and cravings. There was not a drop nuoc cham, but a golden, slightly (very slightly) savoury dressing the herbs were a lil mint and zero corriander, the carrots and sprouts thankfully were fresh. Generous amount of veggies were given and I added basil for that extra fragrance. My Vietnamese iced coffee also tasted lovely with a good amount of sweetness. It reminded me of the Vietnamese coffee hard candy! My friends also ordered a bowl of pho, bun bo hue and a rice dish which they all thought was really good. Pho Metro is my number 1 pho spot in the GTA, period. Anytime I try any other place, this is the spot I compare it to first. The meat is always tender and tasty. Not clumpy or chewy like other places. And there's tons of it. At the beginning I'd always ration it carefully so that I didn't run out and would always end up with a ton of meat at the end. I've since learned that I don't need to do that. Just enjoy meaty bites from the outset and I'm good for the whole bowl. The noodles are good. Again, not clumped together like many other pho places. The broth is delicious by itself but if you know me, you know I've gotta have it spicy so I always ask for a side of satay to tun it up I'd highly recommend this spot to any pho lover and challenge anyone to let me know of a better spot (after you've had these guys). read more

After my go to at Com Tam 168 at Pmall had moved to a further location, I've been searching for my staple Vietnamese food joint in Scarborough. Went during the Sunday lunch hour and waited 30 minutes for my table. Just killed some time at FV Foods next door and the 30 minutes felt like it flew by anyways. You use an iPad at the front to enter your name and phone number to secure your place in line. You then get a text message showing you your place and how long you've been waiting for, very helpful if you wanted to wait in your car instead of standing with the crowd. I don't know if it's because I've been eating some pretty mid phos since Com Tam left, but Pho Metro wasn't bad. BUT, the broth was extremely salty. I don't know if that's the norm for Pho Metro, but it was a bit too much for me ... For now, I'm going to brush it off that it was only today that the pho was super salty. Bowl was also $13 something for a small, which is kinda high for a Vietnamese place. The deep fried pork spring rolls were out of this world though, might just be the best Vietnamese spring rolls I've ever had. I swear they make their own wrapper, because wow. Food and service is super fast. But I guess they have to be, since this place is always packed to the brim with people. Kinda wish the space wasn't so small though, I know they did expand for their banh mi place. But the seating is kinda crammed and you're really close to other tables. The food there is usual fare for Vietnamese. It was good with little attention paid to plating. Where I take exception is the couple of times we had tried to go there for dinner (pre-COVID), we were treated like unwanted second class citizens. They do not take reservations, so imagine our surprise when we waited for a table and a person of Asian appearance, was able to move ahead us, with no apparent reservation. The service itself was slow. Other diners were served before us, despite having been seated after us. Not intending to sound racist in any way as we really love Pho.
