This place has the cheapest pho I ever seen. I brought the Pho Special to go for only $9 before tax and the portion size is probably a medium. I didn't mind the taste of it, it was just ok. Not much beef flavour in the broth but they did give out a good amount of meat. Things I didn't like was how they pre-cooked the bean sprout and didn't give me cutlery. Overall I'm pretty happy. I like how it's conveniently located inside First Markham mall as it allows me to buy other take out from other stalls at the same time.
Pho Ling has been around for many years! I've ordered the "Bun Bo Hue" (spicy beef vermicelli noodle soup) Overall a solid 4/5, for the taste and price to portion ratio. It is very filling for $11, and it is suitable for people who wants a quick solution to pho cravings. FYI - this place is located within the First Markham Place foodcourt. Cash only. Does not accept debit or credit card (I really wish I can pay by credit since that is now my mainstream preferred payment method)
My bf and I came here to get some take out after shopping near by. I had a craving for some bun( vermicelli) but this totally ruined it for me. I ordered the vermicelli with chicken n spring rolls and my bf ordered the pork chicken rice . Both were $7 and came with a bottle of water. Price is 5/5. The chicken tasted old, dry and some pieces looked like "mystery meat " . The chicken also had a lot of soft bones in it making it really hard to enjoy my meal (2/5). The only good thing was the spring rolls, it was crunchy and tasted like how it should be (4/5). The fish sauce did not taste like fish sauce, it was salty and not sweet at all. It also left this ratchet smell in the car :/( quite different aroma than what we are used to). (1.5/5) The pork in my bfs rice was sooooo dry, even after dipping it into the fish sauce , it didn't make much of a difference. The chicken was as bad as the one in my meal :( (2/5) I am very unsatisfied from this meal :( not sure what I just ate ... ! It's cheap and they give you a lot of meat but quality is terrible! A better option is the bbq pork food vendor on the other side of the food court..it's only $6.50 and so much more enjoyable !
Horrible. Don't come here - this place serves terrible Vietnamese food. I had massive cravings for Vietnamese vermicelli with grilled chicken, and was initially delighted to find it here... Only to be disappointed. First, the chicken was absolutely tasteless and had been so overcooked that it resembled pork (in particular, like char siu). There was no flavour whatsoever and the meat was unbelievably dense. I absolutely don't understand nor comprehend how that's possible. Second, the fish sauce itself was completely diluted. There was only a slight sweetness and some nasty funky taste. I am a lover of fish sauce, and have no idea what this liquid is. I left the majority of my dish untouched. Will not come here again.
[LOCATION] - 4/5 This place is located on Rodick Rd. and Hwy 7 inside the food court at First Markham Place. Parking spots near the entrance are limited during peak hours [SERVICE] - 4/5 Staff were friendly and efficient. [DÉCOR] - 4/5 Seating in food court was limited during lunch rush, but sufficient for a quick meal. [QUALITY] - 3/5 Average-quality ingredients for pho from a food court. Nothing too fancy, and hits the spot if I crave cheap pho. [ORDER] - 3/5 - House Special Pho (comes with with pop/water bottle) - $7.00: beef balls and beef slices were not incredibly tender, but satisfactory. Noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. Definitely worth the price because the pho comes with a drink. [OVERALL] - 3/5 Definitely worth the value because the portion was quite large. Overall, I would recommend Pho Ling's for their decent and cheap pho.
Maybe I should had order a pho with no toppings?! Pho with Raw Beef ($5.99) with choice of pop/water is a good value. I like how the noodle is served in a plastic bowl instead of one of those take out containers... Have you ever see those styrofoam containers melt because of how hot the broth is?! Portion is good and broth is decent. But sadly though, the raw beef was hard and chewy and tasted freezer burnt. Too many of those beef in my noodle really making my bowl of pho MEH. But for that price, maybe I am expecting too much?! Life is too short for cheap medocre food. I will pass...i
Pho Ling's is the Vietnamese kiosk in the First Markham Place food court and has been run by the same family as far as I remember. The owners are really friendly and speak Vietnamese, Cantonese and English fluently so no problems ordering here:). I've only gotten pho here over the years as its very good especially for a food court. The broth is flavourful and the noodles cooked perfectly. The protein portion is a little on a small side but seriously hard to complain when you get pho for $7.50 (tax included) and it comes with a drink! Overall very good value for pho and +1 for a really nice family!
If you're like me, then you may have never tried food court pho because you're skeptical that it could be any good. Well, I finally tried it and I loved Pho Ling's! For just $7 and change, you get a nice size bowl of beef pho and it comes with a canned drink! The noodles were perfectly cooked, the broth was tasty and not too herby and no cilantro, and the portion left me feeling full and satisfied. Overall, excellent value and I love to recommend this place for pho to anyone. They're located in the food court of First Markham Place, so good luck finding parking during peak lunch or dinner times.
I go to First Markham regularly for lunch and Pho Ling's is a go to place for something delish and cheap. I usually get the Pork Chop on rice with a fried egg on top. it's something like $6 and includes a bottle of water....cheap cheap cheap.
Pho Ling's has been at First Markham Place for many years now. Not much has changed, still the same friendly and always smiling group that work there. I usually order the House Special Pho, which is loaded with Beef Tendon, cooked and rare beef, tripe and beef balls on top of a decent portion of noodles. They use dry noodles, which I'm not really a fan of, but the broth is what makes it so good. It doesn't have a overwhelming amount of MSG, and it's the right level of sweet/savoury flavour. A good bowl of pho, for a decent price. I tried the Spring Roll and Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli my most recent visit, and it was definitely disappointing. The accompanying sauce tasted like a mix of Salt and Vinegar, lacking that tangy and sweet flavour. The Spring Rolls looked delicious, but were loaded with pork that had a funky taste and huge chunks of taro. The grilled chicken was okay, but was lacking flavour. It was just lacking flavour all over, and didn't have veggies like basil or enough crushed peanuts and fried onions to give it some crunch. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from a food court place, but this was just disappointing because other items are great.
I'm usually hesitant on getting pho at a food court as I tend to think that because it's just a store within a mall, they lack customers and so stock less compared to a pho restaurant which leads to a compromise in the freshness and quality of their ingredients. Pho Ling's has changed my perception of food court pho stores. Located in the corner of the food court, this place is barely noticeable, but let me assure you that you'll never forget this place once you've tried their house special pho and spring rolls. The broth in the house special was very flavoursome, and their spring rolls were crisp. CRISP. I never use fish sauce, but let me tell you that I tried it with the spring rolls from this place, and HOLY TASTEBUDS... I tasted just about every flavour known to man that so beautifully fused together in just the perfect blend. Basically, try their spring rolls is what I'm saying. By the way, drinks are complimentary with meals. Came to about $7.90 tax in for the Pho, and $4.50 tax in for the spring rolls (2 pieces). Note: cash only
My go to whenever I'm at First Markham Place and looking for food. It's located at a corner in the food court. Their prices are very affordable ranging from $10-12. Vermicelli with chicken and spring rolls is less than $11 which I can't seem to find this price anywhere else. The portion is pretty generous too. Highly recommend. read more
Fast food - foodcourt Pho is a little scary because it may be hit or miss. I loved the Pho at Yorkdale but that closed down but this place at First Markham Place is great. Great selection of dishes and good quality for the price. I had the Pho with all the fixings and my wife had lemon grass chicken. Everything was great and at fair price points. The only downside was cash only! Ambiance is N/A because you are in a foodcourt, but service was okay. read more
We were hopeful that this would be a good meal after deciding to order from here instead of another place in the foodcourt. I should've checked the reviews first. At first we were going to order #32 - grilled pork chop and spring roll vermicelli but there's a sign that says they're out of pork chops. Not sure if they just don't order pork anymore or they're out for the day. It seemed unlikely that they'd sold out for the day when it was not too long after 11 am. We went with #33 - grilled chicken and spring roll vermicelli instead. We were told it'd be 8 minutes. It was not barely even 2 mins later when the food was ready. Kinda suspicious when it's only been 1/4 of the estimated time. Biting into the spring roll was a bit tough as it must've been refried (leftover from the previous day?). The chicken wasn't much better as it wasn't even hot on the inside and we suspect that it was also a leftover from the previous day and heated up in the microwave. read more

Decent quality and decent price, on top of that, you don't necessarily need to tip since it is located inside the food court of First Markham Place. Noodles come with all kind of condiments, and as a Vietnamese, it comes with fresh lime slices that give the noodles fresh juice, bringing out the flavour in the soup. I can see myself come here often and strongly recommend to anyone. read more
