Pho is ok but is expensive for small amount. When I'm in bigger cities like salt lake, San Diego, LA or the bay, you can find pho for less than $7 and it's even bigger in quantity than you would get at pho le. Broth here is sometimes hit and miss. Food is never the same. In next week or so I'll be coming to check out the other pho restaurants here in town and compare. read more

Nice, somewhat orderly open space. I have been there several times. I see the same two dead bonsai plants displayed as, I guess, a decoration of sorts. There is a messy, dusty station by the entrance that seems to be a catch-all for seldom used items. The large screen TV runs an animal planet show with some videos of animals in their natural habitat while also being hunted down & killed by other animals. I have ordered the pho every time. They are generous with the basil, fresh mung bean sprouts & fresh lime. The broth is lacking in substance. It is just salty with faint beef flavor, no ginger, star anise or any other depth of flavor. I am desperate for a real deal pho place around here. If they could nail down the broth, I could look past the other visual items that seem so obvious. read more

This place was okay. Not terrible not great. We had the photastic size. We requested that the meatballs be substituted for more of the other meat. We then over heard the manager tell her that they either leave out the meatballs or charge more for the extra meat. And when we asked if they substituted she said they did but never asked us about it. Also the service a bit slow and we were the only ones in there. Not once was our water refilled. Typically Pho restaurants will substitute the meat no questions asked. A bit on the pricey as well. read more

We have a monthly dinner with friends and we only go to locally owned restaurants. Our friends chose a different restaurant that was nearby but lucky for us they were late so we redirected them to Pho Le! Excellent choice on our part. Our waitress Pamela was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. The Pho Sure for me was amazing. The hubby had the steak and shrimp vermicelli which was also great. Ambiance is nice and clean, waiter was friendly. Prices are insane for what you get. I have had Pho from coast to coast in every major city and many small cities in between. We figured based on 4 star reviews and the limited menu they must have great pho and stick to the dish they know. Unfortunately after ordering two large beef pho bowls we were immediately disappointed with the size and portion. If a restaurant makes a mistake we will ask them to correct it, if a restaurant rips you off we will not return, pretty simple. Nevertheless we got our bowls and the amount of meat was laughable less than what looked like maybe 2oz of meat, but we just kindly asked our waiter to purchase two additional meat platters at the tune of $4 each so we are now at $21 per bowl before tax and tip. The waiter returns with two tiny sauce dishes with maybe 2oz of meat in each. Too Small of a portion of noodles and Extreme lack of condiments, peppers, chilis, just missing everything 95% of pho places typically carry. No value here, waste of time and money. This was the second largest disappointment in over nearly 100 different pho restaurants we have been to. Do it right or don't do it don't it at all. read more

The inside of this restaurant is very clean. The wait staff was nice enough. I personally feel like the prices are too expensive it's $10 for a small pho $13 for medium and $15 for large. The bowls are pretty deep so you did get a good amount but it's still too expensive for my taste and what you get. The best thing I ate here was the vegetarian spring rolls but I only got two rolls cut in half and it was $6. I ordered the vegetarian pho as well and the tofu and noodles were good but I felt like the broth really lacked flavor and salt. 5 stars for pho? Why? Finally I found the best pho in Boise, hands down. This is why....The place was clean and we were greeted by a friendly staff. Their menu was cool, and you can order 3 different sizes. I got the medium photastic which really was fantastic. Friend got the vegetarian because the picture looked so good. Here goes.. Vegetarian rolls. Yummy with a nice piece of tofu wrapped inside, but the dipping sauce was ridiculous. I'm usually a peanut sauce gal, but this was drinkable. Now the pho. My BIG bowl was FILLED with tender meat. The brisket was perfect and I loaded on fresh basil and used their (5 stars) house made hoisin sauce. Oh and chili garlic paste, just a little, so I could taste the broth which was perfect. Friends veggie bowl looked beautiful and had triangle yummy squares of almost a fried tofu (not mushy which was awesome). I even tried a tad of tendon in mine. Wow. The texture was good and flavorful. I couldn't believe it wasn't chewy & awkward. 5 stars to service, broth, presentation, AND HOUSE MADE SAUCES I WANT MORE OF. Yes, I'll be back... Start with the Pho was tasty. We ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls. The menu said 6 each, but they just took 3 and cut them in half. No lettuce or mint, cilantro to roll. Just a single 4" by 4" piece of iceberg, wilted at the edges. The spring rolls were just 2, cut in 3 pieces each. So I cut them all again and I had 12!!! Pros: The service was great. The server later told us it was her first day, if so they better keep her around. Probably the best thing they have going. The place is very nice, clean and hip inside. Could easily have more tables if they need them. Service of food was prompt but then again it should be, pho is pretty much always ready to be served, is it not??? Cons: Food is SUPER over priced!!! It was twice what I've payed all over the country! Quality was low and quantity was too. POOR quality meat balls, lots of fat, gristle and even, I think a little bit of bone in mine. Weak broth with less flavor than even many discount places. Tiny portions of meat in the soup. I asked for the optional fatty brisket but not the tendon. Came out with maybe one little piece of fatty brisket and still had tendon in it. (I would guess my normal place gives at least 3-4 times as much meat for half the cost) Not enough basil and the bean sprouts were beginning to turn brown. Just ok quality for super high price. Not likely to return. Downtown prices in a strip mall next to St. Vinney's. NOT IMPRESSED. read more

Happened upon this place tonight because we wanted some Vietnamese and our place was closed. Pho le did not disappoint. The atmosphere was pleasant with a modern decor. The cha gio had great flavor, the portion was much smaller than most comparable restaurants in the area though. My husband had the small pho (pho sure) and I had the cold noodle salad called bun bo Tom nuong.Both were delicious. The portions were good and the service was attentive and helpful. Great Pho!! I love pho and this was a great broth with perfect noodles and a lot of sliced beef, meat balls and they even throw in the tendon on request. My daughter who has usually gets the "chicken" Pho which is usually chicken breast thrown in the beef broth ordered it here and was told that the chef had been working on the chicken broth for several months. They were not lying I caught a whiff of the bowl as it was passed to her and I had to try it. It was delicious!!! Great service, mediocre food especially for the price. More of an Americanized Vietnamese restaurant. Very simple menu. The Vietnamese egg rolls did not come with the plate of veggies it's supposed to be served with (the proper Vietnamese way). My husband had the $15 bowl of large chicken pho, and there was very little meat in it. I ordered the Bun (vermicelli salad bowl) with beef, pork, and shrimp and no noodles. I asked for extra veggies instead. My meal came out and it was meat on a platter with vegetable garnish on the side. I asked for extra chopped lettuce and they brought out large pieces of lettuce. They obviously don't understand the concept of BUN- it's supposed to be a salad bowl topped with noodles and meat! I ended up using the pieces of lettuce and making lettuce wraps with the meat because I didn't want to be "too high maintenance". Compared to other Pho places I've been to, the meat is relatively bland. The only reason they're getting 3 stars is because the server herself was very nice. read more
