Hey fellow Yelp users! I went to Forbidden Noodles in La Grange on 7/17/24 (Wednesday) with my…read morebestie. This was my first time coming here so I didn't know what to expect. My bestie has been here a few times, so I went with the Ramen should recommended I should get. Forbidden Noodles definitely exceeded the expectations I didn't have. Food: I ordered a pork tonkotsu with miso instead of the tonkotsu ($14.99). Since I was treating myself that day, I also decided to try their cream cheese rangoon with their spicy mayo ($3.99 for 3 pieces) and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly a great combo! Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. I went on a really hot day, so it felt nice walking into the cold. The place had low lighting which gave it a warm and cozy aesthetic. Perfect place for a date or catch up lunch/dinner. Customer Service: I thought the customer service was great. The cashier that took my order was really nice. She even brought out cups of water for me & my bestie even though neither of us asked for any. Parking: There's a parking lot, parking garage, & street parking which is all FREE. Street parking is hit or miss, so I totally recommend parking at the parking lot or parking garage. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a good experience at Forbidden Noodles. I would highly recommend this place if you're craving some Ramen but want to skip the trip going to Chinatown (although Chinatown does have a good chunk of Ramen spots). You can even watch a movie before or after grubbing at Forbidden Noodles at the nearby Classic Cinemas La Grange Theatre. I hope this review helps Forbidden Noodles & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!

Part 3 of 5 Memorial Day weekend APIHM series…read more Currently, the Mall comprises a bank, a couple of TCM doctor's offices, and a dental office. There are a variety of dishes to choose from 4 different vendors on the first floor. I enjoy coming here every so often to treat myself and my family to authentic dishes that are hard to find elsewhere, particularly stinky tofu, ba wan (Taiwanese meatball), oyster omelet, and pig blood soup. It is a food court. You are expected to return the tray and empty dishes back to designated areas. Although not required, I've never seen anyone do otherwise. The bathrooms are small and could use additional lighting in my opinion. Parking, you asked? Yes, there is a large parking lot. It is easily accessed from Route 83 (Kingery Hwy) or Ogden Avenue. On this particular visit, 988 Oriental Food House was closed. Reopening date is May 30, 2023.

It has definitely seen better days: still open but very empty (of customers, of vendors, of products). But when we stopped by on a Wednesday for lunch, we found the food to be quite good and of really good value along with plenty of space to dine comfortably and nonchalantly: a good stop to refuel while on the way to central Illinois.

A pretty dead food court scene. It's early afternoon on a Wednesday and hopefully business is better on the weekends and prime time.

Never again. I'm…read moregiving the star to give credit to our friendly server that evening. I made reservations for a Saturday dinner here. Once we walked in, we waited between 8 to 10 minutes before we were able to flag down someone to give us a table. There was no staff at the reception area, not even at the bar. We were already thinking to leave and walk to the restaurant across the street but it was too cold, so we stayed. Huge mistake. The place was not busy at all, there were only a few tables with customers. For this first (and last) visit, we tried the: Scorpion roll, Las Vegas roll, Crab Rangoons, and the Spicy Ramen Noodle Bowl. By the time we received our dishes, everything was cold. We've tried calling the attention of any server/staff we could see to follow up our orders. The dishes have obviously been sitting somewhere at the counter, that's why they were already cold when they were served at our table. The crab rangoons and the ramen had good flavors, but they were cold. The rolls were just disappointing. I understand that they would probably say that they were understaffed that evening, but I am not sure how that could be justified if the restaurant wasn't even busy with customers. We tried to be understanding with our server, he was pleasant and friendly. Overall, there are so many other Japanese places everywhere. Unfortunately, Wok n Fire Burr Ridge will not be on my list to go back again.
