    Tonkotsu Ramen

I went on a slow night. I saw only one dine-in customer by the window. It's my first time here, gotta try the ramen and dumplings, I said. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Dumplings. The ramen was served probably about 15 mins. It's a mediocre ramen, nothing special. The chicken dumplings??? Not served! Been waiting for it, the server would not even say the status of my order. I finished ramen, been sitting there for long time and still no dumplings. Oh well! I had to cancel the order, no reason to sit there and wait. You know what I mean? I wish their server is attentive enough to give status of the order if it is taking long to prepare.

Chicken karage is a must, so crispy, and juicy!! Soup dumplings are also really good, got the pork ones. Love that it comes in 12 definitely worth the price. The brown sugar walnut bao buns are also addicting. J definitely recommend trying this place everything was good. It is also super convenient that you order off an an ipad which i love. Can order as much as I want without bothering workers too much.

Took 40 min for an in-person order I entered on the touch screen. Order was incorrect and I didn't have the patience to wait longer for them to fix it. Was eager to try this place, but the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). Will stick with Katy's Dumplings in Westmont instead.

Got the spicy pork Tonkotsu ramen with light spice. Spice was too light, next time I will get medium. I told the young man working to make it so I can eat it comfortably. Don't have many ramen experiences to compare it to, but it was fun. Spring rolls were incredible.

Clean, inviting restaurant, tastefully decorated. Greeted and order taken promptly. Food was ready after a short wait. Everything was securely packaged for a safe ride home. The gyoza were savory and delicious! Egg rolls remained crisp and tasty. The spicy vegetable ramen was generously portioned, with a tasty broth, perfectly cooked egg, a few tofu cubes, plenty of ramen noodles (of course), and a fine assortment of delicious vegetables which included broccoli, bok choy, Brussels sprouts, etc. A little on the pricey side, but the meal was worth it!

I asked for a hot paste to bring up the heat and was obliged by the chef himself. I do like the fact that the chef comes out to bring me the hot sauce, if course I didn't want to insult his food and he understood. The noodles here are always nicely done and the seafood will definitely satisfy your taste. It considered of shrimp, and seafood mixed up. I love the singleness of the soup yet it does offer you a warmness that lingers on the palate. I was gling to order the beef bone marrow from next door (yws you can also order from the next door restaurant but you have to ask) and this adds an element of more food for your buck so to speak. I do adore that they flyer this. I have eaten on their outside Cafe in summer but for cold days, inside it is. Very romantic spot (this time the partner was working) so I ate alone. But it was fine. Always a very clean and sweet place to eat and I highly recommend any of the soups. I've had various ones. Just the perfect spot to have a meal for sure.

My bestie has been here a few times, so I went with the Ramen should recommended I should get. Forbidden Noodles definitely exceeded the expectations I didn't have. Food: I ordered a pork tonkotsu with miso instead of the tonkotsu ($14.99). Since I was treating myself that day, I also decided to try their cream cheese rangoon with their spicy mayo ($3.99 for 3 pieces) and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly a great combo! Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. I went on a really hot day, so it felt nice walking into the cold. The place had low lighting which gave it a warm and cozy aesthetic. Perfect place for a date or catch up lunch/dinner. Customer Service: I thought the customer service was great. The cashier that took my order was really nice. She even brought out cups of water for me & my bestie even though neither of us asked for any. Parking: There's a parking lot, parking garage, & street parking which is all FREE. Street parking is hit or miss, so I totally recommend parking at the parking lot or parking garage. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a good experience at Forbidden Noodles. I would highly recommend this place if you're craving some Ramen but want to skip the trip going to Chinatown (although Chinatown does have a good chunk of Ramen spots). You can even watch a movie before or after grubbing at Forbidden Noodles at the nearby Classic Cinemas La Grange Theatre. I hope this review helps Forbidden Noodles & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!

The restaurant was nicely decorated with Japanese style wooden slat walls. We were quickly given two ice waters and the table had the menus and the appetizer plates, napkins, and chopsticks. We ordered two ramens: one original and one spicy. Original: Husband had this one. I tried the broth, and it had an authentic Japanese pork broth. Super rich, fatty, and umami if you like those types of flavors. Spicy: I love spicy ramens and find original broths a little too decadent for my tastebuds. So I usually end up ordering a spicy version. This broth has a light pork aftertaste with a spicy note. The corn was a surprising yet fun texture add to the soup. Bean sprouts brought an extra crunch to the soup as well. Kimchi was well fermented, and the perfect stage for adding to a soup. The noodles were al dente, but I wish they were cooked slightly longer. I'd give the dish a 4/5. The standout aspect of the restaurant was the service. At a certain point the spicy broth had gone down the wrong tube and I was struggling, lol. The server noticed and brought over extra napkins without my asking. All in all, great restaurant to stop by for lunch or dinner, especially to warm you up during the Chicago winter.

Our server was friendly and attentive. There are good vegetarian sushi options which isn't always the case at Japanese restaurants. The Fuji vegetarian roll is delicious; I actually ended up ordering another Fuji roll after the first because I enjoyed it so much. Sushi was served impressively fast and all were tasty. The vegetarian ramen bowl did not sit well with me. I was excited to see a fully 100% vegetarian ramen option but something in the broth or maybe the Umami sauce wasn't doing it for me. The Smokey old fashioned was excellent and we honestly want to get a drink smoker now (ha!) Street parking nearby can be hard to find but the location of the features is honestly great - downtown Lombard and within walking distance shops.
