Strawberry and red guava jasmine tea.

Nice restaurant. Plenty of seating to or dining in. The service was nice the guy was kind, professional, and quick. I love dumplings so I was excited to try this spot. I started with a strawberry & red guava jasmine tea with lychee boba. I did the less sugar option of 30%. This was perfect as it wasn't sweet not bitter. I choose kaggage chicken which is really good here. Smaller bites than I've had in other restaurants but solid flavor and crisp. 1) Beef and onion dumpling- good. I liked the flavor and was happy they had a beef option. 2) chicken and cabbage dumpling was so good 3) Xiao long bao chicken soup dumpling... Pefrect pan fried bottom and really good flavor. I got the egg waffle with chocolate. It was nice and warm with chocolate filling in each waffle bubble. Great dessert feel. I would return to this place. It's dumpling heaven.

This is an excellent addition to the western suburbs and it's less than 15 minutes away from our home! We recently had a family lunch on a Sunday at 11 am with 10 adults and four children. We ordered and shared the following: 1) Hong Kong Style milk tea with boba 2) Brown sugar milk tea with boba 3) Scallion pancakes 4) Agedashi tofu* 5) Vegetable spring roll 6) Pork and crab meat xiao long bao (pan seared)* 7) Pork xiao long bao (steamed)* 8) Pork and leek soup dumpling 9) Zucchini glass noodle and wood ear mushroom dumpling* 10) Tofu and wood ear mushroom dumpling* 11) Shrimp and chive dumpling* 12) Seafood rice noodle Considering our party size, we ordered and tried several items. The ones with the asterisk are some of our favorites and we would reorder when we return. The Hong Kong milk tea was freshly brewed during our meal so it took a bit of wait. I think the brew could have been a bit stronger though. The scallion pancakes, xiao long bao and dumplings are made from scratch so there will be a reasonable wait for them to be prepared and served. For the most part, everything was brought out in an efficient manner and we did not think there was a long wait time between items. Orders are placed on individual tablets at each table. Our group was large and some people arrived later. So we ended up placing a drink order before their arrival and then ordering food after their arrival. We did not encounter any issues with the separate orders. Service was attentive and friendly. We dined in for over two hours and we did not feel rushed.

I went on a slow night. I saw only one dine-in customer by the window. It's my first time here, gotta try the ramen and dumplings, I said. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Dumplings. The ramen was served probably about 15 mins. It's a mediocre ramen, nothing special. The chicken dumplings??? Not served! Been waiting for it, the server would not even say the status of my order. I finished ramen, been sitting there for long time and still no dumplings. Oh well! I had to cancel the order, no reason to sit there and wait. You know what I mean? I wish their server is attentive enough to give status of the order if it is taking long to prepare.

Chicken karage is a must, so crispy, and juicy!! Soup dumplings are also really good, got the pork ones. Love that it comes in 12 definitely worth the price. The brown sugar walnut bao buns are also addicting. J definitely recommend trying this place everything was good. It is also super convenient that you order off an an ipad which i love. Can order as much as I want without bothering workers too much.

Took 40 min for an in-person order I entered on the touch screen. Order was incorrect and I didn't have the patience to wait longer for them to fix it. Was eager to try this place, but the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). Will stick with Katy's Dumplings in Westmont instead.

Got the spicy pork Tonkotsu ramen with light spice. Spice was too light, next time I will get medium. I told the young man working to make it so I can eat it comfortably. Don't have many ramen experiences to compare it to, but it was fun. Spring rolls were incredible.

My bestie has been here a few times, so I went with the Ramen should recommended I should get. Forbidden Noodles definitely exceeded the expectations I didn't have. Food: I ordered a pork tonkotsu with miso instead of the tonkotsu ($14.99). Since I was treating myself that day, I also decided to try their cream cheese rangoon with their spicy mayo ($3.99 for 3 pieces) and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly a great combo! Atmosphere: I loved the atmosphere. I went on a really hot day, so it felt nice walking into the cold. The place had low lighting which gave it a warm and cozy aesthetic. Perfect place for a date or catch up lunch/dinner. Customer Service: I thought the customer service was great. The cashier that took my order was really nice. She even brought out cups of water for me & my bestie even though neither of us asked for any. Parking: There's a parking lot, parking garage, & street parking which is all FREE. Street parking is hit or miss, so I totally recommend parking at the parking lot or parking garage. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a good experience at Forbidden Noodles. I would highly recommend this place if you're craving some Ramen but want to skip the trip going to Chinatown (although Chinatown does have a good chunk of Ramen spots). You can even watch a movie before or after grubbing at Forbidden Noodles at the nearby Classic Cinemas La Grange Theatre. I hope this review helps Forbidden Noodles & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!

We asked for knives and were given one to share. The shrimp appetizer looked like no shrimp I have ever seen before. There was no salt or pepper shaker on the table to I went and got one off another table. As I brought it to our table I made sure to let my fellow diner know to use a napkin as the shaker was dirty and sticky. We finally just ordered chicken broth with ramen noodles expecting it to taste like Lipton chicken noodle soup. SURPRISE ~ not like anything I have ever tasted before. The booth where we were seated faced west so there were slats and a shade to cover the window. Reading the menu was next to impossible. This was my first exposure to ramen and, most likely, my last. I got tired of waiting for my printed receipt so we left. I will not return to this restaurant.

I liked the garlic broth the best, it was so flavorful. The beef was delicious too, but I wish there was more protein in it. The service is very friendly, attentive, and efficient. The place is clean and parking is easy. They also offer rice bowls and fruit smoothies as well. I would like to try the rice bowls next time I visit. I hope they eventually have more drink options besides soda and smoothies. My ramen craving was satisfied. 'Til next time!

After moving to the area, I really wanted to try the ramen! honestly, I really liked this place,…read moreeven though I would say it isn't the most authentic ramen place. there is a lot of options on the menu. from yakitori, to omurice, to ramen, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. I ended up trying the ramen combo, which came with a bao bun and thai tea or amazing lemonade (which is I think cucumber lemonade). what I got: original chicken ramen (9/10 yums): not super salty, but a little light on the flavor. I liked the noodles themselves and how much there was! definitely a lighter tasting ramen, so I would get this if you don't want something too heavy. zucchini and chicken negi yakitori (10/10): YUM! I loved the sauce they put on it and it was charred super nicely! amazing lemonade (10/10 yums): YUM!!!!!! I usually don't really like cucumber drinms, but this was such a good balance. the cucumber taste wasn't too overpowering, but gave it a refreshing taste. spicy tonkotsu ramen (10/10 yums): although it is not the authentic and traditional tonkotsu ramen you get, it was really good. The spice was more like a chinese spice blend and was super good in the ramen. pork bao bun (10/10 yums): super tender and soft bun! not too fatty either! the service was also great, as they kept checking on us as well. Seating is pretty decent as well and they have these private booths that seem pretty nice.
