    Chicken Katsu Curry
    Abby A.

On a cold and rainy day, we decided a hot bowl of Pho would be nice. Pho Kimchi is tucked back away from the main street in Poulsbo, with plenty of parking and seating. We were greeted and sat right away, the staff was busy but friendly and took our order pretty quickly. The Chicken Katsu Curry was delicious- not too spicy, huge portion! Bahn Mi can be made anyway you like, ours was with a fried egg and cheese. Again-it is big enough to share, with lots of fresh veggies on it. My Chicken Pho was just OK-not a lot of flavor, very clear broth, almost like hot water. Again- I ordered a small serving, and had enough to take home. Definitely try the Thai Iced Tea-great blend of spices, and its sealed in plastic so you could order it to go. Overall it was good food, a bit pricey, very casual atmosphere (had portable heaters on because it was cold in there), but disappointed in the Pho itself.

The steak pho is an absolute go-to, must have! Such friendly staff, quiet pretty little place. Great portions on the pho, and so delicious! Love ordering here.

I moved to Washington from San Diego, CA for a little over 2 years now and I've yet to find an Authentic Vietnamese Pho place... until I FINALLY stumbled upon this hidden gem called Pho Kim Chi. This place is located in Poulsbo, WA and it's the BEST PHO I've had in the entire PNW. (This is coming from someone who was born in Vietnam and raised in a heavily dense Vietnamese community in California). Not going to lie, I was disappointed by other pho places in Seattle. How they attempted to "Americanize" this amazing dish by toning down the broth, turning pho into an unnecessary bougie soup, and/or adding straight up weird ingredients to the bowl (ie: hot Cheetos, French fries) Like what?! Common, straight up disrespect. Okay back to Kimchi Pho, BEST PHO IN TOWN I SWEAR!!! The broth is legit. It taste like they've spent at least 8 hours or more cooking the broth. Some places might say they do, but I know it when I taste it -- and Pho Kim Chi satisfies all the taste buds. Lastly, when I heard the kitchen staff speak Vietnamese to each other, I almost cried. I haven't heard my native language in this town in a freaking long time. Wrapping this essay up, if you're getting "pho" to feed your social media, go else where. But if you want the real deal, aka AUTHENTIC Legit Vietnamese Phở...... you have to go to Pho Kim Chi.

Great Vietnamese food! We stopped by yesterday, quiet and peaceful. Our new go-to place for Vietnamese in Poulsbo. Bubble tea was amazing. Big portions and fresh ingredients.

Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and well executed in this fusion restaurant. The spicy truffle wontons with grilled shrimp were a standout! They were super aromatic with the truffle flavor coming through, and the shrimp added a nice extra layer of texture and richness. The wontons were not quite spicy, however. We also tried thier chili prawn noodles, which had egg noodles and was just as good. The tempura shrimp was also crunchy and added to the great mix of textures. We also had the rockfish, which was in a nice creamy sauce and cooked nicely, complementing the rest of the meal well.

We were visiting Bainbridge Island for the day and while in town going to parks, walking around,…read moreretail etc, we worked up an appetite for lunch. Among a few other spots, Ba Sa was on our hit list to check out, so we came by for lunch. Its a nice looking modern Vietnamese restaurant with a fusion-y spin on Viet food. We didn't know what to order so we looked at a bunch of photos to see what looked good. We started off with the Chicken Buns. It was really good karage chicken bao buns, very flavorful, nicely prepared and the mayo was tasty! We really enjoyed this to start off our meal. As for our entrees, we got: Bun Cha Hanoi: Good amount of meats, I really liked this, comes with 2 pork patties, 2 grilled pork skewers, an egg roll, noodles to dip in the nuoc cham sauce with lettuce to make some wraps. I went to town on this! Sautee Beef Vermicelli: I got some bites to this dish as well, beef was plenty, quite flavorful stir fried beef, good marinade on the beef, comes with vermicelli noodles with some assorted veggies and crispy bits on top. A good non soup beef noodle dish! We came at a good time, we got seated pretty quickly, friendly staff, it is on the pricier side but we enjoyed the food a lot. The place got busier when we were leaving. Worth coming by to check out if you in the neighborhood!

My initial visit was over nine years ago back in 2/4/17 when the restaurant was smaller. It's a great sign to see its longevity, posted local awards, and space expansion for additional seating. Interior seating choices available include booths or tables. Wait staff was pleasant and efficient handing us ice waters, menus, napkins, chopsticks, and flatware upon seating. Same pleasant interior with healthy plants and an aquarium. Menu items have expanded and also offers bubble tea. We shared a fresh roll with grilled pork and their tasty dipping sauce. Love the crunch and overall fresh composition. Mom had the seafood pho which arrived in a ginormous bowl and I opted for the steak and meatball pho in a smaller bowl. We shared the provided fresh bean sprouts, basil, and lime wedges, but passed on the sliced jalepenos. The broth was so on point, there was no need to adjust the seasoning. But if needed, there is a variety of additional condiments available at each table to customize one's bowls further. Entree servings and content are so generous, that we ended up packing up our leftover phos. I also bought an additional iced Vietnamese phin style coffee with condensed milk to go. That was nice, smooth, and hit the spot while waiting to board the ferry. Back again in under a week with my mom, but also in tow with The Homie (5/5/26, visit 2of2). This time our visit was much earlier in the day at 1030am, but during our visit the booths filled up with others dining onsite or getting orders to go. Very personable waitperson who also gave us ample time to consider menu options. We shared again the exact fresh roll with grilled pork - tasty, consistent, and generously filled. Mom had her ginormous bowl of seafood pho again and was happy to have all the fresh bean sprouts, basil, and lime wedge to herself. She had been fasting for an earlier doctor's appointment and labs, so she went to town and was focused on her pho. Again, chockful of shrimp, squid, imitation crab/surimi, and fish balls with onions, cilantro, plus that flavorful pho broth and noodles. The Homie was very happy to be able to order pork fried rice without the peas and carrots. Great presentation with the generous pork, scrambled egg throughout, and green onion. Despite earlier items consumed prior, he managed to eat half of the generous entree and had a considerable portion to take home. I tried their version of shaking beef with a scoop of steamed white rice, tender chunks of beef sauteed with sliced romaine, cilantro, green peppers, and onions in a garlic sauce. I did end up picking out the onions to add to the other entree of pork fried rice and separated the green peppers due to personal preference. I ate a few bites, and ended up taking the majority of it home. Again, just the sheer size of the generous serving provided. Worthy detour off of Hwy 303 in East Bremerton for consistent, flavorful menu items and on point customer service! Great dining experiences twice in under a week! 4 stars bumped up to five stars for these two recent visits.
