At that point, I went next door to TD Bank to verify the exchange rate and make sure I wasn't misunderstanding the conversion. The bank confirmed that the amount I was given was not correct and that I was being shorted money. I went back to the restaurant, explained the situation, and thankfully, the lady eventually gave me my original $100 USD back. I went to the bank, got the exact Canadian amount I needed, and returned to pay my bill. What makes this especially disappointing is that the food was actually good, and the atmosphere was nice. I would have gladly left a positive review based on those things alone. But when you're visiting a business and have to go to a bank next door just to verify whether you're being given the correct change, it completely destroys the trust and the experience.
