My favourite Pho place in the Toronto area. The food is very authentic, and the service is great...you won't be sitting too long before the food arrives. Their Pho is excellent, and has many variations of it, including a vegan option. What I like is their pork chop with the fried egg (464), the Pho of course, and the cubed beef. We get pho from this place ALL the time! It's not close by either so we choose to drive to it all the way in Hamilton. A friend of mine recommended Saigon on Brant a Street as the besT pho but we have yet to go there. I get their veggie pho and it's bomb!!!! The worst service ever. She didn't even take our drink order. Just dropped off waters. She barley spoke English and got our order wrong. We were not happy with this service at all. The food was not even that great I have had way better pho and this does not but it. The pho came out wrong and she complained when we tried to return it. The service was just so Shitty. The best part about 24+ hours of rain is sitting at home in my Snuggie and eating homemade guac and corn chips, guilt free. The second best thing, a large bowl of warm delicious pho. The Pho Dau Bo franchise is arguably one of the best Vietnamese franchises in the Hamilton area. As a no frills restaurant, the service is exceptional. We were seated quickly, the tables were clean and the food arrived fresh and warm. They also provided a fresh pot of complementary tea and water upon request. The only downside, is that this place is cash or debit only so expect that when you order. We ordered a medium 321 pho with rare beef and beef balls. The portion size is generous, with a great mix of noodles and meat. I was a little skeptical about the soup base, having read reviews I had expected it to be salty, but that was not the case. I would give less stars if possible, just to be clear. The service here is atrocious. They give you a Menu, no actually there is a menu sitting with a piece of paper on the table and you write down your own orders. they don't take even one minute to explain or ask if you have any questions. I ordered 524.-Bun Xao Ga Va Xa Xiu "stir fried rice vermicelli with chicken and BBQ pork" from the Stir Fry section of the menu. That is the exact description quoted from the menu. What I received was a plate of bright yellow curry. I absolutely abhor curry. I wanted to ask about some items on the menu but since they don't offer any real service here I didn't get a chance. Highly dissatisfied. Our "server" if that is what you want to call her didn't speak more than 8 words to us, no joke. Unimpressed may try again and hope for better. read more

Pretty good. Small pho ($5.75) was big enough for an quick meal for me. A large pho ($7) stuffed up my dining mate. They both had good amount of beef. The broth was loaded with MSG, so it was tasty. The restaurant was very clean. The service was fast and quiet. This is a no frill restaurant that takes cash only, and customers have to walk up to the cashier to pay. This place is busy. Customers kept coming in past 10pm the evening we patronized. Overall, it is good at what it does and what it aims to do. 3.5 stars. read more

the pho here is a little bit salty. the portions seem to be getting smaller and smaller throughout the years but it still remains a good bang for your buck. the food really comes out sporadically and I often find my drink comes out after I've already finished my meal so when I order I automatically ask for it to go so I can finish it in the car. everything is usually well seasoned and the tea is piping hot! haven't found anything on the menu i didn't enjoy. read more

Was visiting my brother in Hamilton, Canada last month and craving for some pho. My brother brought me to this place. I ordered a classic pho, large of course. The noodle was good and soup delicious. and I was happy with the quantity-the size of the bowl was just pleasant. :) There were two problems I encountered: 1. I found a hair in my soup when I was about to finish it. Def not mine. 2. I was really thirsty afterwards. I guess they put too much MSG in the soup. Overall, it was an okay experience. Next time I would go for the rice instead of noodle soup though b/c you can't even ask them for soup without MSG-the soup is pre-made. read more

Came here while in town. My mom had the pho dac biet. Broth is perfect!! Scolding hot, a little on the salty side, not sweet at all and pretty beefy. Just the way I like it!! She got a small which was $7 and the amount of food seemed reasonable. The only thing I was disappointed in was the 1 tiny itty bitty meatball I got with it lol on the plus side it's homemade! For myself I got a rice dish with grilled porkchop. Flavor was ok, meat was a little tough. I wasn't impressed. But what I do love is that a small bowl of pho broth came with my dish!! Pho Dau Bo has very delicious, reasonably-priced food. The Queenston location is somewhat small but there's always a table free. Their pad-thai is probably the best I've had in Hamilton and their bubble teas are delicious too :) The only issues I have are that it is quite noisy and the service isn't the best; on my last visit the waiter didn't come by at all to ask how we were doing or refill any drinks.
