    Grilled Pork Bahn Mi Sandiwch

Pho Hanoi 89 replace Pho TNT and it happen to be a huge turnover. I am amazed how Pho Hanoi 89 did with the inside. I am lov8ng the fancy table cloth Plenty of tables to sit down at. I had the Grilled Pork Banh Mi Sandiwch. I am impress with my sandwich. I love the taste of the Grilled Pork. The owner of Pho Hanoi 89 is very nice. I was seated right away. I wish Pho Hanoi 89 luck on their business. I will definitely come back here again.

Sad so see they go. They are literally my most favourite Vietnamese restaurant so far. The owner said they will open new catering service in Vacaville but unfortunately it is too far. Hope they will come back to Hercules soon.

    Banh Mi Chao

PhoHanoi89's bánh mì chảo is hands down one of the best I've had. The pan came out sizzling with perfectly cooked eggs, flavorful meats, and a great mix of textures. Everything tasted super fresh, and the baguette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside--perfect for dipping. It gave me that nostalgic, homey Vietnamese breakfast vibe. The staff were also really friendly and attentive, and the food came out fast, even during a busy time. Highly recommend if you're looking for something comforting, satisfying, and served with care!

I went here for lazy weekend dinner with my wife. I got spicy noodles and she got fried chicken with rice. We both love the food we had at this restaurant. Food prices are competitive compared to near by Vietnamese restaurants. Parkings were plenty at night. Decors were decent but at food prices like this, we couldn't ask for more. The owner was very friendly as he came and checked on us fairly often. My wife likes it so far, definitely will come back and try another food here.

Grilled beef with chewy egg roll
    Jamil T.

Tried the new restaurant was not impressed food was not quality, egg roll was chewy like it was soaked in oil. Beef stew has no taste and the soup is like oil. Fried chicken wings totally opposite on what the picture depicts, again it was fried in old oil. The beef with rice is OK I guess, I would not come back here as the food is not the best coming from a new restaurant.

this is authentic pho broth and uses all the right herbs and flavors... better than the chains and the people are really nice. the tablecloth is how you know it's going to be good!

It was too salty but it did taste like the Viernamese sandwiches I had growing up so it was authentic. My husband had their roasted pork sandwich and he said that it was crunchy as if it was fried. My friend enjoyed their grilled pork sandwich. We shared a grilled chicken fresh roll. It was very tasty. It comes with two long rows for $9. My friend commented that the 8 dollar Thai iced tea was too expensive. It was very quiet on a Wednesday afternoon. We will definitely come back again for some more food. I think the sandwiches here are the most authentic I've had in a long time and will definitely come back for more sandwiches. Their sandwiches start at $8 which is a pretty good deal. The manager seems pretty friendly. The bathroom was clean.

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! It's a husband-and-wife team!

My parents came here last year and said the food was good BUT the crab fried rice was fishy so... I decided to just get regular fried rice and chicken wings. I was really looking forward to it since they have such high ratings but boy was I WRONG. My dad even called it, "I don't trust ordering from restaurants within 45minutes of them closing because they like to rush it." Also, "15 minutes seems too quick for them to cook the food" Well yeah my dad was 100000% right! The chicken tasted as if it was cooked then REFRIED. The meat was dry as he**. The skin was too hard and just unpleasant. The fried rice was disgusting. It didn't even taste like fried rice. If anything it had a weird taste and a dash of pepper. My mom said it literally tasted like BENS RICE OUT OF A BOILED BAG! No eggs even were in it! I'm just so pissed because this was supposed to be our dinner after an 8+ hour drive. I will be calling to request a refund since they closed after we received our food back at the hotel. I had to just throw the whole thing away! Yeeeeeucccckkkk

I recommended we grab pho but with the initial pick being closed, we pivoted to Pho Nation! When we came for dinner, it was quiet. We were one of the only customers but a few diners were coming in and out for takeout. The restaurant is super casual with not much decor or detail to it. The service was just okay and a bit confusing. For those dining in, they give you a menu and you order with them but everything else you need to go to the counter for (pay, water, any requests). We also weren't checked on during our meal. For food, I had the Regular Chicken Breast Pho. Even being a regular, it was a massive portion that I took home! The broth was good but I was never given a spoon. The noodles were on the smaller end as if they were cut. When I received my bowl the noodles were all compact so my theory is they just dumped it in there and assumed the broth would break it up. The chicken was tender. Everything else was on the table such as utensils, sauce, and garnishes. My old manager said her dish was great! I can understand this might be a fave pho place for residents in the area but I'm not sure if I'd willingly go back. It was great to try and the food was good. The restaurant is off San Pablo Dam Road with a giant private parking lot outside.

My friend decided to get extra meat and that was an extra $4. They also gave her double the vegetables for an additional $4 and extra meat as well. Her Thai iced tea was quite expensive for $6. Usually restaurants charge about $4 for Thai iced tea. I got their tofu sandwich which was full of tofu and not enough vegetables. I personally would have prefer more vegetables and less tofu. I did not like their tofu because it is a pre-fried tofu which is probably sold at Ranch 99 and from overseas. That kind of tofu has a non- creamy and somewhat tough texture. It's a bit dry even though they braise it. I prefer non-fried tofu that is slightly sauteed maintaining the creamy tofu texture. This was overly processed tofu. I will not order their tofu sandwich again. I would like to try their chicken sandwich next time and hope that they give me more vegetables. It will be nice to try some of their noodle soups which everyone else was ordering except for our table. The service was pretty quick. Their bathroom had no amenities like toilet paper. I will come back but don't know when.
