I have my local Pho shop where I live, and when I am in Tulsa I have Pho Da Cao. It is the best in my semi humble opinion. Again, a friend suggested the place and we made the short trip here for lunch during work. Ordered the Pho.... duh. :) He ordered some crazy bowl of goodness that looked amazing. I wish I had a bigger stomach because I would have had that as well. He gave me something from his bowl, no idea what it was, but it was awesome. This is the only place we go for Pho in Tulsa. They also have a large selection of other Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Everything is always very delicious. We have been getting food to go recently, and they are SO quick. It is fantastic! They always get your order right too which I appreciate. I have dined in a number of times and the restaurant is clean and nice. It is always very quiet which isn't really my cup of tea, but they always have silly Chinese gameshows on the TV. Really good food at a very reasonable price. One man was running the entire store and still provided exceptional service. We started with the steamed dumplings which were amazing, and I had the chicken pho as my meal. I ordered the medium size and barely made a dent! If you are vegetarian or vegan and looking for phó this is not the place to go. The broth is beef or chicken based and no vegetarian accommodations are available in regards to the broth. If you are flexible they do have *some* dishes that can be made to be vegetarian. They also have tofu that can be served soft or fried (tofu is available with an upcharge - ours was $1 extra for tofu). Our waiter was nice enough to be upfront about what couldn't be vegetarian and what could be customized. I had the Singapore Curry with fried tofu and it was very good. My boyfriend had stir-fry vegetables in brown sauce with steamed rice. His dish smelled heavenly! It had a very aromatic garlic smell. He said it tasted a little too garlicy, but it was good. If you are vegetarian or vegan and find yourself in Tulsa after 8 PM needing a decently satisfying meal on limited restaurant options this place will do just fine if you are willing to compromise. Our bill was $21.60 total for two entrees. Three stars because we called the restaurant ahead to see if they had vegetarian phó with vegetarian broth and were assured "YES!" - and then they tried to get us to place an order over the phone. Trying to get someone to place an order over the phone seems commonplace for phó restaurants and is a pet peeve of mine. When we got there we were disappointed to find mostly meat on the menu and be told that they did not have vegetarian broth. This WAS the best place for pho in Tulsa, but after other competitors have been popping around, this place doesn't even compare. I have been coming here for years but the flavor of the food is a hit or miss with me but the pho broth always lacks flavor. I'm a pho newbie. I've only had it once so I'm in no way an expert! But I like what I like, and I like pho. By the way, is it pronounced "fah" or "fuh"? I've heard it both ways. However you choose to say it, it's delicious! My husband and I ventured to Pho da Cao for the first time a few weeks ago. It was a chilly day so soup sounded really good. Thanks to some help from Yelp we located this little gem and we're so glad we did! It's not a huge restaurant, but that's ok with me. We've been twice and neither time was overly crowded (we went during off times). The staff was attentive without hovering, which is always a plus in my book. They kept up with our refills (well, giving us an extra canned soda) and the food came out quickly. On our first trip, my husband and I both ordered a small rice noodle pho with shrimp. I'm willing to try new things, but I figured I would play it safe this time. It came with sprouts, cilantro, mint, and jalapenos on the side. The large (yes, a small is a hefty portion) bowls came out filled to the brim with rice noodles, shrimp, and a tasty broth. I had a hard time finishing it, there was so much! Really flavorful though, it hit the spot. On our next trip we both ordered the vermicelli - I ordered shrimp again, and he ordered the combo that came with chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp. Speedy service again! Shortly after we ordered, out came 2 large bowls filled with our meats, the vermicelli noodles, lettuce, carrots, cucumber, an egg roll, and a side of duck sauce (I assume it was duck sauce...whatever it is its good!). I know, you're thinking the same thing I was: why is a salad in with the noodles?? I don't care why, it works. It was delicious, and I was craving it for days afterwards! Chewy, crunchy, salty, meaty, sweet....everything in one bite! Ah, writing about it makes me want some! The restaurant is in need of some repairs and a makeover, but if you have your head shoved down into one of their huge bowls you won't even notice. It feels homey, not overly done and pretentious. You can bring anyone here and I'm sure they'll enjoy it....unless they hate soup, Vietnamese food, or Chinese food. Speaking of, they have a large menu full of items for every palate. I am a huge Pho fan but knowing my wife would get a bowl, and that I could try hers, I opted for something else. I literally pointed at one of the menu pictures, a soup with a variety of meets and seafood, veggies, and quail eggs. It was really good, I would definitely get again but I want to see what the rest of their menu has to offer. The pho broth was top notch. Everything seemed fresh and I think the flavors were really good. The prices were on par with anywhere else that serves similar. Go you will not be disappointed. One minor con I had was the Vietnamese coffee w/ condensed milk I ordered to go tasted as if the coffee in it was slightly burned. Not sure if this was the potency of the coffee or possibly that it had been left on a warming pad, but it was potable and potent none-the-less. The staff was really friendly, Dr. B is crazy. I lived in Asia for a couple of years and people are friendly but aren't overly-friendly like they are in Oklahoma, more specifically Tulsa. I wanted to introduce my American coworkers to authentic Vietnamese food, so we decided to meet here for dinner after work. It was a Wednesday night, around 6:30, the parking lot had plenty of spaces for parking. The sign was big and clear, easy to find. When I walked in, the lady had already given menus to my coworkers, as they got there before me and sat down at a table. The restaurant was about half full when I got there, the demographic of the diners was pretty diverse. As my coworkers opened the menu, I advised them to only order from the Vietnamese side of the menu, not the Chinese side. I figured we should only order from what they're known for. We got an order of spring rolls to share for the table, since the texture of the rice paper is new to them. I also ordered a glass of Vietnamese iced coffee, which is strong coffee sweetened by condensed milk. The menu was clearly marked and easy to order. I got the P7, which included the beef eye round, meatball and tripe. and my coworkers didn't venture out so much, they got the chicken and beef slices. We all ordered the medium size bowl, I figured we could take it home if we don't finish it. I had to introduce the sauces on the side to my coworkers, the fish sauce, hoisin sauce, hot chili oil, and sriracha, which they both politely declined. The spring roll and iced coffee came out within probably 5 minutes of ordering. 2 spring rolls come in one serving, with plenty of peanut sauce to go with it. The pho came out just about when we finished our appetizers, I'd say perfect timing. The broth is very good, not overly oily. As far as we can tell, the meat were fresh and tender. The veggie plate of basil, bean sprout, lime, and cilantro were generous and fresh, plenty for the table. It is worth mentioning that we didn't get our drinks refilled even once the entire time we were there, I'd say the service was pretty lousy, but again, that's semi expected from most Asian restaurants. I'd also like to point out that although it took us nearly 2 hours to finish the meal, the ladies didn't hurry us out the restaurant, so we could finish our conversations, and not feel rushed. Props for that. As expected, we didn't finish our medium bowl, so I took it home in a togo bowl(which I added more noodles when I got home for a second meal the next day). Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the quality of pho, and my coworkers (first time pho eater) both concluded that pho will be added to their comfort food list, and will return for more! Yes a new pho house is on the map in Tulsa! I have only been in Tulsa 4 years so until today I was unaware this place used to be the perennial favorite until it shut down. Here's what you will find in your pho here if you so desire it, TENDON, yes that most gelatinous of all miscellaneous pho meats, eye of round, meat balls, fatty brisket, flank steak and tripe.. not to mention a broth that will knock your socks off and real roasted chili paste on the side as well as the usual suspects: lime, bean sprouts, basil, cilantro and sliced jallys. Visited Pho Da Cao twice while on a trip to Tulsa, and on both occasions they delivered a pho-tastic meal! (I hate myself for the word play but I had to) With the cool fall weather at hand the hot Pho soups are what you need to order. The broth is flavorful, and they provide all the side fixings: bean sprouts, thai basil, lime/lemon, jalapenos, and cilantro. On the table they also have sriracha (asian hot sauce) and a hot sauce made from red peppers, which allows you to administer the extra kick you may be looking for. I tried both the Pho with eye round steak and with meatballs. I really liked the steak, but I didn't care for the meatballs since they were a too chewy for my tastes. Along with the Pho, I tried my boyfriends vermicelli with beef, which was awesome! Again, great flavor with lots of veggies, and as always I love the accompanying fish sauce. Also, Pho Da Cao includes egg rolls with this order, and they are really good. Nice crispy outside with a delicious filling. Along with good food, they have a relaxed family oriented atmosphere. Both times I saw kids playing together while their parents had their meals, looks to be a local favorite. Although, I haven't tried any other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, Pho Da Cao definitely stands up to the Larissa Pho-showdown! read more

There's something to be said about the hole in the wall that has been open for years. This tiny place is one of two spots in Tulsa where I'll get a bowl of pho. This place does not deserve 4 stars. The service was awful. They should be happy and lucky enough to have people come in here to eat. The whole time they rushed us through the ordering process and were very rude. Ordered the spring rolls (please avoid, 95% noodles and lacked flavor) Ordered the Vietnamese coffee (was actually really good but came out really fast so I'm pretty sure it was pre made and not fresh) Ordered the medium pho with flank and meatballs (broth was on the sweeter side and had less aromatics to it. Well, I was the only non Asian customer in the place, but I didn't feel out of place or uncomfortable. The TV was playing Asian singers with dancers. The food was good, but as a medium qualified cook, I can make better. The Vietnamese egg rolls (A1) were warm, I like my food hot and fresh, I loved the dipping sauce. The egg rolls are very tightly rolled, no falling apart, like mine! They also roll the eggrolls differently. The Pho Tai (P1)was good, better before adding all the garnish. I got on the Internet to see how to eat pho and did taste the broth prior to crushing the garnish and adding it to the broth. I didn't want to first eat the noodles with the chopsticks and then eat the broth. I used the ceramic spoon and my fork alternatively to eat noodles and broth. I use fresh herbs to cook, but they give triple the amount needed for the pho. I am thinking I need to take the leap and learn to eat like the natives, with chopsticks and face in the bowl! I do recommend people try this place, if I didn't cook, I would be a regular! read more

My son, daughter and me love the Pho here. Since we usually get there after the lunch rush, it really appears to have been a busy and popular place since every empty table has empty Pho bowls on them. A good sign, but there is a wait to be seated while the minimum staff gets around to cleaning them off. They are great on delivering what YOU ordered and how you like it! Recently, I was in the mood for Pho. Since Hmong Cafe closed, I was afraid I would not be able to find another place as good. I'm happy to say that I have found that place! Reminds me of San Francisco in many ways. The Pho Ga is the best I've had in Tulsa and is comparable to what I had in San Francisco. The broth was amazing with more spices than most. The flank steak Pho is good but had a little too much fatty taste for me. That's completely my opinion as I prefer chicken anyway. The shrimp spring rolls were a little bland without dipping in the sauce but overall very good. When I walked in at 2:00 pm there were a few tables occupied with American and Asian diners having a great time. Always a good sign. One group of eight Asian diners were enjoying themselves and laughing and this added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. The entire dining room filled up within ten minutes of my arriving and was buzzing with conversation. Reminded me a lot of San Francisco as well. The dining room was well lit, neat and very clean with no harsh cleaning chemical smells or bleach smells (a total turnoff to me in a restaurant). A television was showing Vietnamese programs over the register. I was greeted with a smile and my to go order was ready in no time. Overall, food and Service were both excellent! I noticed a comment about the staff not smiling enough. I definitely did not see a problem with that at all. In the foodservice industry, smiling all the time is not even reality. Coming from a long line of servers, some customers can be very difficult to deal with and expect more than is reasonable. Be sure to tip your server well and you will receive the best service possible on every visit. Can't wait to go back for dinner and enjoy a sit down dining experience. read more

The lady was so mean and abrupt with us- not even letting us ask basic questions. Also, they are totally skimping out on the meat. You definitely don't get the amount of meat you used to. The pho is amazing. P4 is my favorite. Great combo of sweet broth and savory beef with perfectly cooked noodles. The cilantro and mint really make a great soup that much better to. Definitely stick with the Vietnamese side of the menu that's what they are good at. Was not impressed with the Chinese food. Restaurant cleanliness is so so. Sticky tables sometimes. I have found a hair in my spring roll once but they brought me a new one. Also I do not enjoy the soda in cans I prefer soda from a fountain at restaurants. Pro: The food is delicious and the service was above and beyond superb. It was clean even at the end of dinner time. Con: The ambiance is cheap; tables and basic decorations. Our server was terrific. But two other employees had loud phone conversations that dominated the dining room. One call was on speakerphone! We ordered Pho with Meatballs, Pho with Eye of Round and Sesame Chicken. We were served in less than 10 minutes. We were the only table occupied when we ordered but the speed was still impressive. Later, other diners got served equally quickly. Found this gem on Yelp as it was only 1.5 miles from my hotel. Currently it is curbside pickup, but I get it given today's circumstances. I could not read the menu on the Yelp site very clearly so I went to the restaurant. They had their menu on the window and their phone number to call. I selected the Summer Rolls with Shrimp and a small vegetable Pho. Customer service was friendly and quick. The food was simply delicious. While the strip mall they are located in isn't the most glamorous, I'll make a point of coming back to dine again when I am in Tulsa. Give Pho Da Cao a try and you won't be disappointed! read more

I rate this a 4 out of 5 based solely on the P7 Pho that they have there. I LOVE LOVE the Pho and anytime I find myself here I go all out on the Pho. Love it! I have tried other dishes at this restaurant and have found that it's ok. I honestly wouldn't order anything else here besides the Noodle Dishes.
