We were greeted as we walked in and asked right away if we were meeting up with friends. We said yes and he walked us right to our table. A few friendly comments about our tardiness and he took our drink order as our friends already had their drinks. We ordered the spring rolls and gyoza appetizers. The spring rolls were nice and crispy. The gyoza looked a little underdone but they were perfect. Just the right bit of crisp to them. Definitely will order them again next time. With that being said we enjoyed our Saigon style Pho and will happily return to have it again. The restaurant was moderately busy. It was nice and clean. The side of the building is really the main entrance so I think it throws people off when they drive by. For good pho I would recommend stopping in and trying it for yourself. The best PHO and Asian style cooking I have had in Ohio! I was desperately seeking good Vietnamese cuisine in Ohio. Moving from San Diego where good Asian food is plentiful to Ohio, it was a challenge finding anything comparable. My search is over! Great Vietnamese food & coffee here! Walking distance from downtown Wooster, this quaint restaurant served freshly-made delicious appetizers and pho. There are also other dishes on the menu too, but came here for the pho and some appetizer. Loved the lettuce wraps! The lettuce was crisp and very fresh. The chicken, cashews, and veggies were super good. Also had the summer rolls and fresh pork buns and I highly recommend both. There were many choices of pho available to order. I ate the beef and meatball one. Loved everything about it. The meat was tender, both amazing, and the toppings (bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños) were fresh. We ate in and ordered the Seafood Pho, Saigon Pho, shumai, and summer rolls. Everything was delicious. I was hesitant to order the Seafood Pho because I was unsure about the fishballs and fishcakes, but it was great. The soup was very flavorful. The restaurant was pretty full which was nice to see. I had been excited to try this place. However, even as I initially walked in, it was not off to a great start. It smelled something similar to a wet mop bucket. To clarify, this is not a good smell. I figured I would attempt to ignore that. Besides, I was going to order take out. I ordered the Brisket Pho and the Gyoza appetizer. First, the Gyoza was okay. Definitely not great, but not horrible. On the other hand, there wasn't much good about the Brisket Pho. As I opened the first foam container, I was met with Sprouts that were just beginning to brown and some that seemed to be in the initial stages of slight rot. The Thai Basil Leaves were better than the Sprouts, but still a bit beat up, near the end of their usable life, some wilting. Not good. Definitely not fresh. The Jalepenos did seem fresh, though. Next, was the Brisket, Broth, and Noodles. If I remember correctly, the Cilantro was scattered atop the Noodles. The Cilantro seemed quite fresh, at least. And while not nearly the main concern, it did seem the noodles were somehow excessively almost molded or melded together into one huge nearly solid entangled clump. But most importantly, the Brisket was just horrible. It was not good. The broth was similar. And it's as if the taste was even worse than simply overcooked, tough, and not naturally delicious, but as if the Brisket and Broth has some sort of odd, horrible chemical taste. It was bad. I disposed of the remainder and also ended up having a stomach ache for hours after. I did notice that the Broth and Brisket were still extremely hot, even after arriving home to unpack. Normally this would be a good thing, but it was still SO hot, that I did wonder if it actually melted the plastic container a bit? Maybe not possible, I'm unfamiliar with the heat ratings on the plastic containers, but the "chemical" taste was that bad and noticeable, that it did come to mind. The only reason I didn't rate 1 Star is because everything looked to be packaged perfectly and the Gyoza appetizer wasn't horrible. But it was still a pretty bad overall experience. read more

Pho Bar new Vietnamese restaurant in Wooster. Lover of Pho, I had to try it. Ordered their Eye of Round Pho to go. Tasted the broth before assembling the soup. It was very good. They cooked the beef. I prefer it raw and cooking it in the hot broth. I really enjoyed the finished product. The service was excellent. A lot of people were coming in for lunch. This is a much needed Asian restaurant addition to Wooster. I look forward to trying other items soon. read more

Haven't written a review in a while- but pulled out Yelp for this gem. Wooster's new Pho Bar is a JOY. Gone are the days where my partner and I must transverse to Cleveland for a warm bowl of herby, beefy comfort. There bowls or pho are affordable, maxing out at $13. There are vermicelli and rice bowls if you're not in the mood for broth. The appetizer list is a hodgepodge of excitement. Everything from summer rolls to egg tarts are available for affordable prices. Great for date night or, as I'm imagining, ordering coffee/bubble tea an array of appetizers and sweets with friends. Was pleasantly surprised! The area and exterior were not what I expected, but we walked in and it was bright modern and clean. The Pho (P1) was excellent and comparable to the Pho we get at No.1 and Superior, in cleveland. The jalapeño that came with the Pho was spicy too, which is sometimes hard to find. Me and my dad came here before church and we ordered all of the appetizers that had "buns" in the name because I had never had real boa buns before, only the ones my mom makes at home. The buns were SO delicious . I had the lemongrass chicken pho and I loved that they gave me jalapeño and bean sprouts on the side cause it was delicious. My dad had the house fried rice and he loved it! I tried some of it and it was the best fried rice I have ever had. I am glad that Pho came to Wooster. It is decent but does not come close to some of Cleveland's great Pho restaurants. Traditionally the Pho beef broth should be simmered with spices for about 24 hours. Pho is served in a large bowl with vermicelli rice noodles and very thin often rare beef cuts. On the side you get Thai basil leaves, bean sprouts, lime piece and jalapeño slices. It appears that this restaurant is independently owned but still a chain. I got a container of broth with some very thick, tough pieces of brisket. In another container I got rice noodles which were glued together difficult to separate. The side of bean sprouts were a bit old and brown, two basil leaves and a lime slice. The brisket was very tough and it took me awhile to unglue the rice noodles. Despite all of that, Wooster needs a bit of unusual ethnic flavor. It will be welcomed. read more

Glad to see Phô Bar back in business. This is one if not the favorite restaurant for us in the Wooster area. The phô is flavorful and robust. It's not as strong flavored as I have had in Houston but for this part of Ohio, no complaints. The ingredients are always fresh. We can usually make two meals out of one bowl so for us it's a good value for the portion. We've tried the sliced beef, lemongrass chicken, and the pork. All are flavorful and filling. The noodle bowl or bún is quite good as well. The noodles are plentiful. Personally , I'd like to have more vegetables vegetables with the bún but as is, it's still a good dish. We've also tried the stirfried noodles with beef. It's a simple dish, slightly salty with the brown sauce. Again, maybe added a few vegetables to the dish or even bok choy might help. Since they reopened, they have added a few new dishes to the menu. We like the fried spring rolls. Not sure if they make them on site or not but they have a nice flavor and always hit and crispy. The Vietnamese teas are very refreshing. We enjoy the hot Saigon tea with light sugar. The regular is a bit too sweet for our tastes. We've also tried the Ceylon iced tea which has a great citrus tone and nice fresh flavor. We always receive a friendly hello when entering the establishment. Jack, the new owner and former employee of the old regime is very friendly and always up for good conversation with patrons. When we have eaten inside, service is quick and the food is always presented well. We often take-out and our meal is packed up well to prevent any spills, utensils and sauces are included. If you need anything additional just ask and they will take care of you. The times we have eaten in the restaurant, everything including the restrooms are clean and tidy. Seating is spaced so you don't feel crowded. You can easily converse with your party. Ample parking to the from, side and rear of the building. Definitely a must try if you like Asian food. This is as close to a traditional Asian/Viet food I've had since moving back to Ohio from Houston. read more

I had high hopes for this place, but it let me down now. I have waited a while for this place to open and was very excited to see a flyer that they are open for business. The food was very delicious, and I liked the pork buns and the beef and rice salad. It was a good experience, but the biggest downside was the wait. My girlfriend and I waited for about an hour and a half for our food and were very disappointed.
