Fried banana
Bruna R.

Had an amazing experience today trying pho for the first time. I got the beef and vegetables XL (it is really large) and fried bananas for l desert. The food was absolutely awesome! You definitely need to try those fried bananas, they are SO good. The pho had so many flavors and textures in it, absolutely awesome! Their prices are really good too, the bill came up to ~20cad per person with tips (I only drank water, add a little bit more if you're ordering drinks). The place is super cozy, really good service.

Whoa whoa whoa guys. Some of y'all can be pretty harsh when reviewing a place... maybe i'm just too forgiving but i thought it was well worth 4 stars ...at least my experience today. Or maybe y'all put the bar so low that I just think it was amazing 'cuz I was expecting the worst. A colleague of ours is being transferred out of our team, so one of our team planned a thank you / good bye lunch...they chose Pho Bac. Being a yelp addict I checked out the other reviews last night: dammmmmmnnnn, was I ever dreading this lunch! Much to my, super pleasant, surprise: not at all what the other reviews had me expecting. The place was clean, very clean even...ok the floors and the bathrooms not-so-clean...but tables, utensils, dishware etc (the part that counts)...hell even the fish tank... were all shiny shiny. It took a good 15 minutes before our waiter first came to see our table of 8...which I was expecting based on the reviews. But surprisingly all courses of the meal were served in a very timely and efficient manner, super appreciated!! The soups came out within 5 mins of completing our order...then next the spring rolls also within 5 minutes of finishing the soups and the meals following closely behind picking up the empty spring roll plates. The food itself was actually delicious, beautifully cooked and NOTHING was rotten! I will definitely be back for their won ton soup: best I've ever had anywhere (with a lil sriracha n soy sauce obviously)!!!!!! The beef n chicken combo were amazing but a lil on the overbearingly sweet side: which is the only part worth complaining about and even that...a nice glass of dry red wine (cuz it is a byow) woulda fixed that right up! (They put limes in the water jug which was awesome at first but just added to the sweetness aspect once the meal came). So overall: don't be so mean! I didn't get sick and neither did my colleagues, go ahead n give 'em a chance: the food n price is worth it! And if you find a better won ton soup: please let me know!!

Grotesquely large chunks of fat in their "Dac biet" aka "tout garnie" or all dressed.

My family made reservations for noon on a Saturday and thankfully so, because the line was out the door upon arrival. We ordered a pho dac biet (#15) and bun bo hue dac biet (#24) . Come hungry, because their large bowls are massive! Their pho was so nourishing and comforting on a rainy day. Each bowl loaded with a hefty serving of meat, tendon and tripe. The herbs were incredibly fresh and even came with culantro! But the star of this meal had to be the bun bo hue; I haven't had such an amazing bun bo hue from a restaurant in a long time. The broth was beefy and loaded with tender pieces of meat, but also finally had enough of the lemongrass essence I crave for in bbh. It packed just the right amount of heat without it being overpowering or mouth-numbing. I practically licked the bowl clean at the end of the meal. My family was ecstatic to have found another spot that hits close to home for them. Flavors are impeccable and portion sizes are very generous. We already decided that we will be regulars. You'll catch us here very often!

Now what does Table Tennis have to do with "TT Café"? Well it's more than just the acronym... First: TT Café is the culmination and dream of former Pro Tennis Table player Ly Quan passion for Table Tennis and Coffee paired with her father's extensive expertise and experience who's been cooking in restaurants since the 80s! Second: The café offers enough of space to fit two full length ping pong tables and bleacher seats where anyone can come watch, play, or even get pro tips from the owners! Third: Similar playing ping-pong, the attention to detail, precision, and speed, Daughter and Father owners infuse those skills into fantastic third wave coffee and Vietnamese dishes! TT Café selected Dundas (ON) Detour coffee roaster's, backed with a premium water filtration system and San Remo naked coffee machine to satisfy the needs of great coffee lovers, where each cup served is the result of meticulous craft. You can order an espresso, cortado, flat white, cappuccino, latte, cold brew or the "Café Viet" which is fresh take on Vietnamese coffee. No messing around with your cup of java here! To eat, there are some interesting asian influenced viennoiseries but also more hearty meals such as a Vietnamese Mango and Papaya salad, Fried Rice, Pho and also soon to be on the menu such as Wonton Noodle soup. I opted to try a half-size portion of the soup and fried rice... drool pause. The fried rice, oh dear lord, appeared to be deceptively simple but is actually a multi-step process ordeal, and prepared with such care! The secret is in the Hainanese style preparation, meaning the raw rice grains are first steamed in poached seasoned chicken broth, then incorporating fried eggs, sweet peas, shrimp and the most important ingredient of all - bits of flavourful and aromatic (lap chong) Chinese sausage! The result is fluffy grains of rice that is perfectly stir-fried and full of big flavors and irresistibly delicious! There's something to be said about old school techniques as this is such a refresher from painfully bland, boring, and tasteless stuff you get at other restaurants. Located right on the border of Ville Émard and Côte St-Paul this coffee shop is welcome addition to the neighbourhood which is slowly gentrifying, and giving asylum to locals, runners, even dragon boat club students looking for a sweet spot to hangout and enjoy a good brew and bite. The one issue, mostly if you're driving is parking as it is rare and please don't randomly park in the parking lot without a permit as you will be towed. Anywhoo, I will have to come back to try the Pho, Affogato and other items being added to the menu and perhaps even improve my non-existent ping pong skills (LOL). Hope you'll stop by too!

It looked cool, so I told my parents we'll go on our way back home to Toronto from Quebec City. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, and I'll admit the waiting area isn't the best. When we finally got our table, it was tucked in the corner of the restaurant by the windows. Thankfully it was insulated well despite a cold night. The food concept is pretty unique here, as Southeast Asian cuisine isn't too common overall. We decided to share a bunch of dishes to increase the variety of foods. Pork Belly Steamed Buns - Excellent Laksa Soup with Chicken - Excellent, and I like how they separated the satay on a spoon. Satay Babi - This was an item from their special menu, which is basically satay pork skewers. It was also very good. Fried chicken - Nothing special, could probably skip this. Char kway teow - Very uniquely done. I wasn't expecting clams on it, and it was an excellent addition. Service was also amazing. There are some other dishes that I wasn't able to try, and I would say the uniqueness of this place will entice me to return here.
