    Take out in point.

Have gotten take out from here twice. Both times packaging has been really well done. Everything you need is included. one subjection would be a piece of cardboard under the hot soups. It's hot!! Spring rolls are really good and fresh. The phos are ok. Personally I find them very salty and lacking on the vegetable side. In the broth it's pretty much just onions. Maybe it's a different style of pho I'm not used too. The noodles are good, shorter then normal (maybe they just broke) but tasty none the less. They make an in house tofu apparently. I'm a picky tofu eater and didn't like it.. it's got a weird texture for me. However my boyfriend who doesn't eat tofu said it was ok. (Translates to good haha) My friend raves about their sandwiches, saying they are some of the best in the city. Maybe next time I'll try those. The staff is always pleasant and greets you right away with a smile on their face.

We were craving some vietnamese food on a friday night so we decided to come to Tran Cantine, after reading the good reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed. appetizers are expensive. one spring roll 4$? wow.... this is too much. the imperial rolls were so oily and the sauce so wattery. the banh mi was good but it had only fat pieces of meat inside. and 9$ the sandwich for Montreal for a fast food place? too expensive. never coming back

Walked into this spot on a weekday for lunch and was surprised to see so the place buzzing already! The space is simple, black chairs, black tables and a few stools for the windows seating, nice gray-washed wooden floor, add to a very modern, quaint and clean open space. The utensils are already at the table, as is your choice of condiments. You place your order at the counter, leave your name and grab a seat to get served, simple! I decided to go with the bahn mi sandwich with pork. As suggested by the friendly cashier, I added the egg. The food was up in a very reasonable timeframe considering the crowd. My first bite was heaven! Really! Perfectly cooked morsels of pork, great flavour, plenty of coriander, moist bread and that gooey egg brought that sandwich to another level! Was it worth the 10$? Yes, yes, yes!

I'm so happy that I can come on foot to get a bowl of pho that tastes the same as Pho Tay Ho out in Rosemont. I'll need to try out some of their other offerings in future visits. But given that they were able to execute well on that broth, no doubt that everything else will be delicious. The decor is very simple and easy on the eye. Maybe it's the reason for the price premium?

Very good Vietnamese option in the area. All the dishes are made with care and the ingredients seem super fresh. For me, this is a regular stop in the area when I want fresh, tasty and a good lunch option. Now of course in other areas of the city there are some great Vietnamese food so I won't say it is the best, especially since it is slightly more expensive than most, but it doesn't take away from the quality experience. I had the chicken pho, pork rice bowl and a spring roll. The pork bowl was by far the best dish ( why did my wife want chicken pho anyway) but I was disappointed by the spring roll because for the cost it didn't seem as fresh. Now try it out. Enjoy!

My family made reservations for noon on a Saturday and thankfully so, because the line was out the door upon arrival. We ordered a pho dac biet (#15) and bun bo hue dac biet (#24) . Come hungry, because their large bowls are massive! Their pho was so nourishing and comforting on a rainy day. Each bowl loaded with a hefty serving of meat, tendon and tripe. The herbs were incredibly fresh and even came with culantro! But the star of this meal had to be the bun bo hue; I haven't had such an amazing bun bo hue from a restaurant in a long time. The broth was beefy and loaded with tender pieces of meat, but also finally had enough of the lemongrass essence I crave for in bbh. It packed just the right amount of heat without it being overpowering or mouth-numbing. I practically licked the bowl clean at the end of the meal. My family was ecstatic to have found another spot that hits close to home for them. Flavors are impeccable and portion sizes are very generous. We already decided that we will be regulars. You'll catch us here very often!

The selection of menu was incredibly special. The offering is Northern Vietnamese food and these special dishes are really hard to find at any different Vietnamese restaurant. Bun Cha Ha Noi - is also called Obama noodle because President Obama had it when he was in Vietnam. Besides the grilled pork, the hardest thing in my opinion is the sauce, which was good here. The only that bothered me is how small the portion is. We had to order extra meat for my daughter. Bun Dau Mam Tom - I have high expectation for a very authentic Vietnamese disk so I was not impressed with their Bun Dau Mam Tom. It normally comes with pork intestine. Where is my pork intestine? Haha Again the portion is also very small. Nem be which is similar to spring roll was also something we called at the end when everyone was still hungry. In my opinion, it is a bit expensive for the food and the portions are small.

Whatever it was Pho Saigon Viet-Nam served me up the best Satay Beef Pho I ever tasted. I started my lunch meal with spring rolls ($5,00). They were good but not the best spring rolls I ever had. The roll I thought was a bit chewy. Next came the Satay Beef ($12) which totally flavored the Pho. It was the best Pho I ever had but mind you I am no expert. They have a strange business model in that a small bowl is $11 and a large bowl is $12. It came out piping hot. I had to let it sit, as well as, blow on the broth to cool it down. The staff was tri-lingual. Imagine that! The food came out quick. It seems a lot of locals dine here. The restaurant is located in Chinatown. The street entrance is below ground level. The restaurant was relatively empty. Tabletops had a bit of a stench to it and the menus handed to us were sticky. Not one to judge a book by its cover and these conditions are fairly common in Chinatown. The menu was pretty extensive with all the common dishes. I really wanted some banh cuon or banh uot, but on a frigid night, I felt like some pho would hit the spot instead. The bun bo hue and banh canh were very enticing to me; those would've been great options on a cold night as well. Prices were reasonable ranging from 12-16$ based on size. We ordered a small and medium; instantly regretted not getting a bigger size though because I def could have eaten more. Broth was darker than normal. Nothing stood out about the broth, but it was pretty spice-forward and still very much hit the spot. They surprisingly loaded up on the meat; I've never had this much meat in my bowl of pho at any other restaurants. The noodles were also cooked perfectly! Realistically I probably wouldn't come back here as often if my other usual spots were open, but I'm especially grateful they were welcoming during holiday hours. I noticed that the banh xeo and some other dishes were cheaper than other places though, so maybe I'll return for that. CASH ONLY.
