New Vietnamese restaurant in the SLC area and it's delicious! Great service, clean, spacious and yummy food! Ordered their pork rice plate and it was good! Their bun bo hue is also delicious, very flavorful. A few people in my group ordered the combo which is a very good deal. Comes with a small bowl of pho, a banh mi sandwich, an egg roll and a spring roll. Lots of food at an affordable price! Plenty of parking in the lot! We really enjoyed the family environment at Pho 9! The extended family was there eating. The young lady who helped us was working very hard. I was a bit torn between 3 & 4 stars. My main motivation to give 3 was in the hopes the owners would see my review and change things a bit so that they could get more business in the future. We tried again to go to the Thai restaurant near Pho 9, but it was SO busy. We ate in and also had some take out. The dishes were all good. Some better than others. The complaints I have was the lack of meat in the pho, and one take out (stir fry) most mostly white onions. This is not right. To charge this kind of money for white noodles and white onions! As a Registered Dietitian I know the nutritional value of the Pho & stir fry was poor due to the copious amounts of white noodles and hardly any meat! Nobody would want to pay that money for a large bowl of broth & white noodles. If that's the case, maybe charge less. Also, the bathroom was gross. Diarrhea all over the toilet and it was not clean anywhere else. Those who read my reviews know I believe the bathroom can be a decent indicator of how clean the whole establishment is. We will try this place again. I did tell the young lady who helped us that there was hardly any beef & chicken in the 2 dishes we ate in. Quality food, medium prices. I really liked this place. They had great ambiance as well. The colors of the walls are vibrant and fun. The shrimp fried rice was great with big whole shrimp. They did bring me chicken fried rice at first but apologized and fixed it no problem. For sure a great place for lunch or dinner. read more

I started going when a co-worker said that they have wonderful food. Well I have been 4 times. The first couple of times the food/soup was very good but the last couple of times steadily have been par and the 4th time was horrible. Our go-to Pho place was closed so we decided to give this place a try. The service was okay (you order at a counter then seat yourself). The food is meh. Egg rolls had no taste and hardly any filling. The Pho broth was overpowered with anise and cinnamon. Noodles were a good texture but they don't have many options for meats like other pho places. I absolutely love the pho here. I also think the ban mi beef sandwich is delicious. Add in a Thai tea boba smoothie and you got yourself way too much delicious food. Regular pho and large are only a dollar difference so go large if you're dining in. If taking to go, go regular, everything will fit in the broth cup. So I came her because of the reviews and sadly after eating here, I have to disagree with the concensus so far. The pho was fine, but not something that would bring me back. The rice plate was horribly bland. The fried egg rolls tasted old and were way overpriced for what you recieve. All the sodas were out of carbonation as well. Pho 9's broth base is vegetarian and sliced with the most amazing spices and seasonings! They have the meat options that any other pho place has but they don't just rely on that for flavor. I ordered the combo meal because I wanted to try a little bit of everything, but the portions were HUGE and I ended up getting a lot more pho than I thought (which is a good thing). I brought everything back to work to eat, had no idea what went with what. I tried the pho first and it was fantastic! So then I just started adding stuff that I thought would go with it: noodles, leafy greens, green onions, some weird sweet sauce, and a bunch of jalapenos. It was delicious! The bahn mi was good too; kinda small but I think that's the way their made. The egg roll was delicious but I didn't care much for the spring roll, though that's probably just my preference. Overall, very good and very satisfying. A little bit of instruction on how to eat it would have been good for a pho ignoramus like me, but I figured it out. :) read more
