I have been to Pho Bien Hoa twice now and while their Pho is not my most favorite in the Valley, it does hit the spot. The flavor is fair. It's served piping hot and has a fair amount of proteins and noodles. Of course it came with the side of bean sprouts, Thai basil, and jalapeño with condiments set on the table. I order the regular size and it's just enough for me to finish and feel satisfied. I've tried their wings. It had a garlicky, sweet and sour type sauce. They were fried crispy and I enjoyed them a lot. I've tried their lychee on lychee tea. It was a bit too sweet for me. My better half finished it up for me and ordered the shaking beef for himself. It was tender and flavorful. Pho Bien Hoa is close to my area when I don't feel like traveling far. It's affordable. The dining area and restrooms have always been clean on both visits and the service has been great both times. There's usually a small steady stream of people who dine in or take out. Stop in and judge for yourself.

Ok. So I don't like watching TV or have my nephew's watch youtube while we eat. The news was on above us (I can tolerate that) but they had kids watching TV in the same area with some kids show. So now I have cross volume while im trying to enjoy a meal. Remember people go out for the experience, an escape, not that kind of environment. The food came out fast and it was hot. Everything was good except for the Banh Mi Dac Biet. I told older lady aka our waitress that I didn't order that, she claimed I ordered #98 not the #97. She also stated that i was in the wrong, rude. We had a back and fourth, I told her that I was going to leave it on the table, that either I get what I ordered or I won't pay for that. She took it back and tossed it, but while she walked away she was speaking vietnamese loudly (probably talking smack), must be a nice privledge. She came back with the correct sandwich without an apology. I wouldn't dine here ever again. Go to the other location where it's more friendlier.

It also had tomatoes which I'm a fan of but usually not in your typical banh mi. Try the coconut and kumquat juice for a refreshing drink. The service was super attentive. They asked us if we were ready and by the third time we finally were able to make our choices. They came back and asked how the food was and checked on our water levels. I noticed some items on the menu were crossed out. I'm not sure if they were just sold out or permanently removed, but I hope they're able to bring them all back as more food choices. The Bo kho was very small and also very bland, we added a bunch of fish sauce in it and hoisin sauce for it to have some flavor. I don't know what the deal is, why were the only ones that keep having a bad experience, the food is just not great at all and I'm not really a picky eater or anything. You get a quarter chunk of lettuce to eat with the noodles and the charboiled beef. On the side was also fresh herbs and pickled carrots/daikon. The perfect bite is a nice piece of lettuce, noodles, some of the beef, roll that baby up and dip it in the sauce. Everything about this dish is so good! It brought back so many memories. It's amazing how a simple dish can make your heart so content. I can officially leave SLC happy. My last visit here, I got a great bowl of pho. Tonight's meal was everything I wanted. I have nothing but great things to say about this joint. I have checked out other pho joints in the area but none of them have delivered like Pho Salt Lake. One of the best Viet joints in town.

Then he surprised us with free drinks and chè samples to try. And OMG, the drinks! We tried the Jasmine Cloud, Green Thai Tea, and Oolong Milk Tea, and every single one was SO good.
