Set an appointment to get a tattoo from Miguel. I show up 30 min before my appointment time and text him hey I'm here. He says he never seen my text and didn't know we had an appointment. However in our text messages he confirmed we where good to go and all set. 15 min before the appointment he texted me back saying he never got my text so it wasn't on his calendar. Wtf don't make appointments months in advance and not follow through that is crappy service. I told him that was wack of him and I'm taking my business elsewhere. All he says to me is "thanks" Appreciate you wasting my time smh. ----- To answer the reply from Brian T below. 1st of all I never cancelled on my appointment, I rescheduled for a different date and time. And the difference between Miguel and I if you read the text messages again, I told him 6 days before my scheduled appointment that I needed to reschedule. I didn't wait for the day of my appointment to tell him. Why? Because that is unprofessional. I told him as soon as I found out that I couldn't make the appointment that I needed to reschedule. I respected his time hence why I told him ASAP. Not checking your messages for a potential lead for more business and then hitting them up 15 minutes before the appointment to say sorry we are closed today for a party is mad unprofessional. He obviously did not respect my time and that is why I would not do business with your shop again. I had plans to get a lot of work done too. I got a tattoo from Matt at the Tattoo Expo in San Francisco in September of 2014. My tattoo was super simple, some roman numerals near my shoulder/collar bone. Well, as simple as the tattoo was he managed to fuck it up. I waited for like an hour to get tattooed, which is reasonable considering it was at an expo, but when it was my turn he just wanted to get out of there because the expo was closing for the night. I understand he wanted to rush out, but this is something that is going to be on my body for the rest of my fucking life. You think he would put in a little more effort to make it look nice. Well, once my tattoo healed I noticed that one of the numbers was way bigger than the other one and it just threw the whole thing off. Luckily i went to CLUB TATTOO recently, got a beautiful spine piece done and the artist even offered to fix up Matt's fuck up for free. Someone who was getting a tattoo here heckled some friends and I on the street while we walked home. He made several uncomfortable advances (including trying to pressure us into getting tattoos here several times) and proceeded to make sexist comments about women being dramatic. While that was the truly upsetting part at no fault of the business, I did call the owner to tell him about the experience. He didn't seem to think that a woman being harrassed by someone in his business (and attempting to represent his business) was his problem. I called and set a consultation with him with no problems. When you walk, its absolutely CLEAN! Kuddos! It was a pretty quick consultation since the tattoo is small and on my finger. On the acutal tattoo appointment we arrived and he took me right in and free-handed the name on my finger which looked great. took no more than 15-20 mins. Left as a happy customer. Got my nose pierced here and they did such a bad job I had to have it removed and re-pierced at another shop. It was in way too tight and bled every night. If I didn't speak up and ask him to, the guy who pierced my nose wouldn't have cleaned the area before sticking the needle inside of my nose. Trust this man with your skin! I would never send someone to an artist I do not know or trust and I still recommend Bus to anyone who asks, even after 5 years of not seeing him. Sadly I have not see Short Bus in a few years since we moved separate ways after he did my sleeve and chest, however, I can say that I get compliments all over the world on the work he did. Bus is the only tattoo artist I could find that was willing to work with my stupid schedule at the time. We did most of my work between 11 pm and 2 am on Sunday nights after the shop he was in closed. You really have to like someone to dedicate that time block to them for as long as we did. Loved everything about my experience with Dave. First off, he was just super talented and knows what he is doing. I had him do some lettering in various fonts and he nailed them, every little detail to a perfect match of what I asked for. In addition to just being great at what he does David was chill, but professional and made a point to really hear what I was going for and be sure he knew what I wanted before he got to work. He went the extra step to make sure I was happy and the job was done artistically and flawlessly. I am giving this place a 2 do the the way things were handle after our tattoo was done. At the time of the session, everything was great. Great customer service. Place was clean and everyone was coo and nice. After the tattoos were done I reached out to the person who did my fiancé's and mine tattoos. Our both tattoos were not really filled in correctly once it was healed. I reached out to Mrs Philthy and notified her about this. She stated that sometimes that happens with ring tattoos but she will be happy to fix that once she gets back from maternity leave. Which I totally understood and was happy to wait. Months and months went by and I decided to reach out again and just ask if she knew by any chance when she may be back so I can have an idea when we will get them fixed. I just didn't want a whole year to go by and she may forget or something. Wasn't asking to get it done ASAP or anything. I just curious if she knew her schedule since she said she will let me know when she will start again in July. And I was reaching out in mid August ( our tattoo was done in March) . I didn't push it or anything so gave it time and I know things may change which I totally respect. But what I didn't like that when I reached out after she had delivered her baby she read my messages and ignored it. She's posting pics of tattoos on her ig so I thought maybe she was back so thats why I reached out. I reached out twice because I wasn't getting a response when she may think she will start tattooing so I can get an appointment in. And if she didn't know she could at least say she wasn't sure or wasn't setting appointments yet or whatever the case may have been. Instead she just reads and ignores. I mean I paid, it wasn't a free tattoo so I had a right to ask when she could fix it. After the two ignored messages I just let it go. I wasn't going to beg. Now over a year my fiancé and I never got our tattoo fixed. I think it was very unprofessional the way she handle it. We were paid customers that did not have our satisfaction met. And I wanted to get more tattoos by her and I was thinking to have her fix the one on my finger and have others done on the next session. Miguel is an amazing tattoo artist, 'artist' being key. I love him! He takes a lot of pride in his work, and is a perfectionist. He spent a lot of time with me actually helping to design my tattoo. He was super patient, and really creative with the concept I wanted -- which was pretty freaking complicated. I wanted to honor so many passions in one tattoo. I love mermaids, and I love being a mother -- so I wanted my two loves combined. I wanted a mermaid who looked like me (a Black woman), had natural hair, holding two babies, seashells, etc etc etc --- but I had a million ideas and so many different pictures, I'm complicated what can I say? Anyway, it took a couple of sessions to finish my grand idea, but I'm so happy with it! He let me take breaks, get food, ask his advice. I also get more compliments on this tattoo, than any of my others. I have about 10 tattoos (prior to this newest one) and Miguel is by far my favorite tattoo artist.
