Phil is an expert at repairing and rebuilding Harleys. He is highly skilled and he is honest. Each time I have brought my 2000 Dyna Wide Glide in for repair he has found "little things" (like a loose or missing bolt) that I had not noticed and if left without attention would have brought trouble for me later on. He is also a skilled, sensitive educator regarding motorcycle repair and maintenance who nicely presents advice for extending the life of your cycle. He is the best mechanic I have had since buying my Harley 24 years ago.

This is a project o am currently working on and Phil is bringing it back to life.

Hands down one of the best in the business. Phil is most honest and trustworthy shops around. Old school cool and legitimately the only mechanic I have used in California since moving here. From an oil change to a complete custom build Phil is the best.

Phil's Speed Shop was recommended by a good friend. Phil's been at his spot for over 40 years. His skills are amazing and his professionalism is a blessing. If your in need give him a call and it's a guarantee you won't be disappointed

Phil definitely knows Harley's and always takes good care of you. I just recently purchased a new "used" bike and had him complete a full service on it. He was able to catch a ton of things that I would've never noticed. My bike is running 10x better than before and now I don't have to worry about the bike not being in the best possible shape. I definitely recommend Phil's if you're looking for a new Harley mechanic. Multiple people recommended this shop and after my experience I completely understand why.

Phil worked his magic on my Panhead stroker chopper that I have been kick starting for 34 years by installing an electric high torque starter and a trick oil tank that conceals a 300amp lithium battery. Thanks for another job well none Phil!

Having Harley problems? Go see Phil. Want a custom build? Go see Phil. He is hands down the BEST Harley mechanic on the west coast! He can fix or make anything. I highly recommend Phil's speed shop to anyone trying get the job done Right the first time. He's a super nice guy and loves to educate his customers. Give him a call at the shop make sure to leave a message with your contact info.

Phil is the man! Took my dyna I just bought for a full service, new grips, brakes and an over all look through. He went above and beyond also got rid of the notorious "death wobble" he knows his stuff when it comes to bikes and is very educational as well. He will be my go to shop from here on out. Thanks Phil!!!

New to the Harley world and heard from a friend that this was the place to go. Took my bike in for some top end rnr and could instalntly tell Phil new what he was doing. His shop is rad, and shows its history. Phil ran me through what he believed to be the issue and broke the pricing down to every nut and bolt. After leaving the bike for about a week i got a call to come down and check it out. He showed me the valves and the head and everything that needed to be replaced. There was absolutley no bs about how you may need this or that. Straight up honest dude with the bikes best performance in mind. Followed up with me after the service was complete to make sure I was satiafied. If you want the bare minimum slapped together, go somewhere else, thats not the kind of work that comes out of Phils shop. 10/10 will be going back. Give him a call and he will give you his best!

Replaced tire, inner tube, valve stem, cleaned and greased bearings, new front brake pads, and an oil change. Thanks Phil!

This man knows Harleys! I had a flat tire and took it in to get it replaced, as soon as I met Phil he was direct and pointing out the details on my bike. He showed me all the parts he took off and explained their condition. Not many people will take the time to explain and educate you, let alone be so nice to lend a hand. Highly recommend this place! Take it in your bike to get it looked at and you will know within 5 minutes that's Phil's the man! Thanks for all the help man, I really appreciate it and the bike is running better!

Purchased a brand new white 2025 Ninja 500 ABS today and saved $1,300 thanks to OC Honda Kawasaki!…read moreI got tired of sifting through all the clapped out or overpriced Ninja 400s/500s on FB Marketplace and OfferUp. Didn't want to settle for a color I didn't want and would ultimately end up changing anyway which would cost me more money. Anyway, why the 1 star review? I walked in this morning and spoke to Dwayne, one of the salespeople (or manager?). Extremely dismissive, short, rude, and clearly very uninterested in engaging with a serious buyer. Seems like attitude is an issue here based on previous reviews. All good though! He told me to basically kick rocks and go back to Bert's so I did exactly that! Not even an hour later after speaking with Dwayne I purchased my Ninja 500 at a steal of a deal over at Bert's. Bro's KPIs and metrics must be SOLID this month to let a sale walk out at the last day of the month. This was my second time at Bert's and both experiences were awesome. Lots of toys to look at, awesome pricing, and more importantly, excellent and friendly service the moment you walk in. This would've been my go-to place if I ever needed service or parts, but I'd rather ride/drive elsewhere than put up with the bullshit here. Oh, and if you hate your job bro, try doing something else. Don't get mad that you have to do your job when customers walk in. You're literally in sales/retail.

Quick Update 6/11/25 - have had EXCELLENT post-sale service from both Philip and Dwayne here at OC…read moreHonda Kawasaki -- they've been nothing short of amazing to the folks who have spent their hard-earned money with their dealership! Thank you! Original review: I'd been shopping for a new bike for a few months and just going through my options, dealing with all the dealers in SoCal, online, private party, etc. and recently visited OC Honda & Kawasaki and met with Dwayne. Dwayne is a very chill, calm and friendly (read as "relaxed") guy, and let me look around the showroom and ask him questions as needed. There was no weird stigma or "club" here, where you feel comfortable and are greeted as soon as you come in, and get to check out bikes as well as ask them to pull some out for you to sit on if you're curious about seating position, controls, etc. I left with no pressure, and checked out some other local competitors and then continued to research and figure out what I wanted over the course of another month. During this time, I called Dwayne and asked him questions and he was always helpful and friendly, walked me through his experiences as a seasoned rider on both street & dirt, and was never pushy -- I never felt rushed as I continued to check out all my options. Finally the time came to pick out a bike, and I called and Dwayne put me in touch with Philip, who was also just as kind and a very cool, patient, and helpful person -- one that you can tell really cared about the customer experience. Philip also got me a price out-the-door on a new bike by phone, and I was there later that day to check out the bike they'd priced out for me, currently held in their storage. These guys aren't on commission so you feel free to work with them on your timing, pricing, as well as delivering payment -- they took great care of me. Communication was top-notch from the team; even if Philip was out or off, Dwayne is able to man the texts coming in, and vice-versa, so I always felt confident in my decision and their service. The fact that they're just around the corner from me is the cherry on top. When I went to pick up my bike, I was treated with respect and kindness -- Dwayne took his time to walk me through all the new features (coming from an all-analog older bike), and set my rider modes up as well as guided me through quick-shift options and service. I was kept updated by Philip and the team here from day-one, and the shop is really nice with a ton of new bikes on the floor, some great sales, as well as a ton of helmets and gear - many gear options priced to go as new inventory comes in for the different seasons across all manufacturers. Had a great experience at Orange County Honda & Kawasaki; I got no-nonsense out-the-door pricing, easy and chill service, and a great attitude from the team, what more could you ask for? I'll be back for an Africa Twin when the time comes, thanks guys!
