I have a 2000 Road King purchased new in October 1999 from Laidlaw's. My bike has been sitting in the garage for the last 5 or 6 years just covered up with work life getting in the way of riding. Now that I am retired I went to Laidlaw's to talk to the service department about getting my bike picked up and going thru everything. I walk in and Brent Laidlaw who sold me my bike back in 1999 was there and I talked to him and told him of my issues. Brent told me my bike was worthless and can not get parts but we have plenty of new bikes to sell you. Brent said to leave your name and number with the service manager and they would arrange to pick it up but doubt they could do anything with it do to parts. The service desk said the manager was out to lunch so I left my info and never heard back from them. I left there that day without a very good feeling. I am glad I never heard back from them. A friend of mine told me to Google mobile Harley mechanics and that is when I found Larry's Harley Services in Whittier. He is not mobile but that was ok because I could just have triple AAA pick up my bike. I called Larry told him my issues and just by talking to him a got a very good feeling about the guy. He also told me parts would not be an issue he would just have to locate them which would be the parts inside the tank. (who knew there was parts inside the tank I thought the gas just flowed out into the injectors Boy was I wrong) I sent my bike to Larry and met him in person and very easy guy to talk to. He said to give him about a week and I would be back on the road again. He found the parts for inside the tank at Glendale Harley no problem. He went thru my entire bike servicing everything and also my bike was a complete mess sitting for the last 5 or 6 years that Larry's son detailed my bike and it looks like new again. If you have an older bike do not waste your time at a dealer Larry is the man. I am very happy with Larry's work and riding once again. Thank you. Dwayne J. read more

I have a 1999 Road King Classic EFI. I had not turned it on for 2 years and wanted to have it serviced and fully checked out. The Harley dealers and local "Harley Master Mechanics" all told me they don't work on these older bikes. I found Larry on Yelp and he agreed that the older Harleys are more difficult to work on and to find parts, but he likes this kind of work. He picked up my bike which didn't run, and in one day had it back to me. He also detailed it, so I received my bike shiny and running better than it ever did before. He inspected and adjusted the bike from A to Z. If you have a Harley, take it to Larry. read more

Larry was a Godsend. I honestly don't think I have ever gad someone take better care of me as a customer than Larry. I had broken down with a blown out clutch in the middle of the desert at 3pm on a Saturday and needed to get to Born Free on Sunday. It was looking grim considering most shops aren't even open on Sundays. When I spoke with Larry on the phone, I could sense a genuine interest in wanting to help me out and we discussed what possibilities I had given my limited options. After I sorted out my issues with transporting the bike over to his shop, he allowed me to drop the bike off after hours due to my circumstances and that helped me out tremendously. He had my bike fixed and ready by noon the following day and I was able to make it to the show and ride back up north to the Bay Area on my bike. Absolutely amazing experience and service from Larry. I most definitely recommend, and I am very grateful for his kind deed. Thank you Larry! read more

First of all I want to mention how hard it is to find a knowledgeable Harley mechanic after a few unsuccessful calls to mechanics on Yelp I finally found Larry. I have a XL 883 hugger Sportster boared out to a 1200 I had a couple problems my carb was leaking gas out the overflow hose constantly and I had rough idle I also mentioned to him that I wanted to reroute my crank case breather bolts because they leaked oil into my carb. So I spoke to Larry and he quickly had an answer to my problems. He suggested that I rebuild the carb and that he would reroute the hoses on the crankcase breather bolts down the frame of the bike. Set up an appointment fast and easy for the next day he had my bike done in one day it was running nice like a bat out of hell I'm super happy with Larry's work not to mention since my motorcycle was bored out it was a bit complicated for me to tune he suggested certain spark plugs and Gap which solved my problem will be back for more work on my bike with Larry would recommend for Harley bikes. read more

I have a Harley Davidson custom 1200 due to an injury it sat in my garage for the better part of 2 years. I went online to find a mobile mechanic. I came across Larry's website called and spoke to Larry. I explained my situation, and we made arrangements for the following Saturday for Larry to come and pick up my bike. Imagine my surprise when Larry called me in the afternoon. Not to tell me to come pick up my bike because he finished the repairs. But to tell me he tore it apart cleaned everything and put my bike back together. He told me he would drop it off a 3:00. By 3:15 I was a couple of miles into my first ride n 2 years. Needless to say if you have a motorcycle and need work done on it. Call Larry. read more

Larry took my street glide in on short notice and was able to locate and fix a electrical short that I had knocked my rear lights. It was in the fairing. He also changed my primary oil and made sure everything was running perfectly. His prices are very fair and he's very knowledgeable. He works out of his home, but is very friendly and his son even gave me a ride home! I'd definitely recommend him. Thanks Larry! Update 2020. - scheduled an appointment with Larry on short notice and he was able to get in to Powdercoat my front wheel, replace the tore and install new Galfer high performance brake rotors. He also fixed a few other issues I'd been meaning to get around to and I couldn't be happier with the result. The quality of the powdercoating is excellent and his service is is second to none. I'd recommend Larry to anyone in a heartbeat. And to top it , he's a nice guy too! read more

Larry is the man when it comes to giving you some knowledge on your motorcycle and is good with making sure you understand what he is doing to you're motorcycle so you feel at ease and is FAST, as a new rider he definitely made me feel comfortable and definitely would recommend, he helped change all my fluids and go through my whole motorcycle for a check on top of installing some new handlebars which he did all in less than a day. Larry did an amazing job installing my slip ons. I ran into a fair bit of trouble putting them on myself as they wouldn't budge and the guy did it. His prices were reasonable and he took my bike in at 7 am because I had to go to work and couldn't drop off any earlier - & he allowed me to pick up my bike much later than a normal dealer would allow. I can't promise you he'll do that for you but talk with him, he's a good guy. I'll definitely going back to him for an internally wired riser install, new handlebars and grips. He already quoted me for that and trust me, you're better off coming to him than a dealership. read more

For a while now I had been having some issue with my Harley, having to jump start it just to get it going. Local shop said it was a battery issue and didn't even bother to double check to see if that was the issue. When I had took it to Larry, he was able to tell that it wasn't a battery issue but an actual charging system issue. Larry took my bike in on a Sunday afternoon and called me less than 24HR later saying my bike was ready. He even took it upon himself to check my brakes, oil and tighten a few bolts. He was really trying to prove to me that he wasn't bs-in me into a job and I appreciate that. I'd return to him with any other concerns in the future. read more

Tried installing a fairing and relocate my headlights. I blew a fuse and destroyed some wires. Larry took my bike in as soon as i called. I definitely created a mess for him underneath my handlebars and the frame. He took the fairing, handlebars, gas tank, and went through each wire to fix the problem. I couldn't be more happy with the work that he did. Amazing prices and a kind hearted man all around. I strongly recommend you give him a call if you need anything for your bike. This is a real shady dude, don't take your bike here unless you want to leave with more problems and unexpected price changes He told me $250 for clutch cable and labor and then called me back to let me know he was only able to find a cable that cost $320 alone plus another $150 for labor I was baffled at the fact he didn't call me to ask if that was okay...he just bought it anyway I asked him for the receipt to the clutch cable and he said "he didn't have one cause he paid with his credit card" He was really upset cursing at me on the phone over a receipt that I'm entitled too After picking up my bike I paid the 320 for the cable but he said "not to pay him for the labor and that he never wanted to work on my bike again" I noticed when I turned it on the idling was way too high around 1800 rpm which is so obvious he tried some sketchy business My buddy ended up fixing the problem by releasing some pressure in the clutch adjustment read more

Looking for an honest, reliable, quality motorcycle mechanic? Look no further! My husband's Harley needed to be fixed ASAP because it was spewing gasoline and we are moving out of state in a week. I saw Larry's other Yelp reviews and figured I would give him a call. Best decision! He diagnosed the problem right away, called me with the parts prices, got my approval before just doing the work, and had it done the same day. He was friendly, communicative, and never took advantage of me, even though I was having to deal with everything while my husband was at work. I called Larry on a Sunday morning because of issues with my road glide and the H-D dealership could not resolve the issue.
