Phil can gril my grill because holy hot jumbalaya that was amazing! My whole perspective on food has completely changed and now nothing can taste as good as what I ate that day. Anyone can cook

This is a sprawling restaurant with two names Quill Creek Cafe and Phil's Grill but it's all the same menu. They have two very, very large patios which face north and maybe a little east so you really don't get much direct sun in the afternoon or evening unless you sit far away from the building and covered terrace. They have lots of outdoor heaters so if you do want to sit outside when it's cool they can fire those up for you. They even have TVs so you can see whatever sports event they may have on. Phil's Grill is a little more golf club-like in its atmosphere. They only have happy hour on Wednesdays so make a note. The menus are fairly common American food. They do have some calamari and nachos but other than that it's pretty standard salads, sandwiches and a few meat and seafood entrées. It's safe to come here for a decent meal but it's not a "dining destination" in my opinion. The atmosphere is quite the draw especially if you are out on the patio. We had a black Manhattan which was nicely not too sweet at all and a grande margarita which was a monster in size. Both were tasty and priced at $14 and $20 respectively. We enjoyed the calamari which came out on a large cast-iron skillet, it had lots of pepperoncini slices over it and a sweet Thai chili sauce. The rings were very, very small but they were very tender. A buffalo roasted cauliflower wedge salad was interesting and I added blackened chicken. I needed a little more dressing and I would've preferred fresh raw onions to the crispy onions that were served with it but all in all it was very good. The chicken sandwich was decent as well. Fairly certain that we will return given the venue and the proximity to our lodging. Most likely will try happy hour as we had some wings here in the past and they were tasty!

I don't eat at golf courses much, primarily because the ones that have food available close to home are less than desirable; but a lunch meeting for business brought me to Phil's. We ate out on the patio with a view that made concentrating on conversations a bit more difficult. Sunny, 80 degrees, light breeze. It would take a lot of that to hurt a guy. Service was excellent. Friendly and providing just enough attention to make sure our drinks were full and our meals were meeting expectations. I had the Prime Rib sub. A coworker had a salad with perfectly seared tuna. Both were excellent; cooked and seasoned just right, hot, and perfectly portioned. The price is a bit higher than a non-golf course seated meal, but as expected for the view, quality of food, and excellent service. Highly recommended!

Great spot, really good chicken nachos!!!

The name really fits because there are several different seating areas, including cozy groupings with soft couches and chairs, traditional dining tables, bar seating and an outdoor patio. There is also a separate larger room that looked great for groups. It's nice enough for a fun night out or date night, but the overall feel is relaxed and casual, so you definitely don't need to dress up. We went for a girls' Happy Hour, specifically because the Wine Wall sounded like so much fun, but one of the things I really liked about The Living Room is that you absolutely don't have to be a wine drinker to enjoy it. They also have a reasonable, well rounded menu and signature drinks. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3-6 PM. The menu offers $2 off wines by the glass, draft beers, signature and well cocktails, as well as the bruschetta and flatbreads. So one person could come for wine and bruschetta, and someone else could enjoy a beer with flatbread, or have something from the regular menu. There are salads, soups, sandwiches, sushi rolls, food from the grillI, and starters. We first shared the Artichoke Spinach Dip. I feel like the dip is a portion for one, as you can see in my photo; it's in a small ramekin, but the chips are fantastic and sharable. I had the "fried rice with steak, chicken and shrimp topped with a fried egg." The "steak" was tiny little pieces, not slices, but the portion of fried rice was very generous and filling. It's a "Starter" that was a "meal" for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the food prices are. Now for the Wine Wall, because this is such a fun part of the experience! You're given a Tasting Card that works somewhat like a debit card for the Wine Wall. You tap the card at the WineStation, choose the wine you want and then select a 1 oz, 3 oz or 6 oz pour. Each wine and pour size has its own price, and every selection is added to your Tasting Card. At the end, the accumulated amount is transferred to your restaurant check as one "Wine Wall" charge. Our server was wonderful about showing us how everything worked. He walked us over to the Wine Wall, explained the system and dispensed our first glasses for us. Later, when he asked if we wanted more, my friend ordered another 3 oz Silver Oak and he brought it right to our table, so we didn't even have to get up again. If the Wine Wall is one of the main reasons for your visit, there are couches and tables right by it. You might want to choose that area if you plan on trying 1 oz. tastes of several wines. We enjoyed two excellent Cabernets from the Wine Wall: Caymus and Silver Oak. I had a 3 oz Caymus, a 3 oz Silver Oak, and my friend had a 6 oz Caymus and 3 oz Silver Oak. Our total Wine Wall charge was $83. We're already looking forward to returning for what will feel like a different experience by having white wine and sushi outdoors on a cool evening. I could definitely see The Living Room becoming an easy choice for a casual Happy Hour or dinner with friends.

Once you know how big the sandwiches are, you are on track. We decided to split the Meatball (a new addition on the menu just this week) and the Italian Grinder (one of our fave's) and it was worth it. We knew we would take the other halves home for a dinner snack, so we had a less overloaded lunch today. Casey again was our server, and he saw use getting seated and brought over a bottle of their sparkling wine (they do a deal for $20 or $25) which we enjoy, as we got it last time also. The bottle overflowed significantly on opening so there was a bit of loss unfortunately - however, Casey came back later during our lunch when we had finally finished the bottle and topped us off from the lost portion of the previous bottle - a very kind gesture and certainly was not expected. But he said he wanted to do right. A good man right there. The food as usual, was fantastic - service is exceptional and the ambiance very good - def not a loud place, but certainly has the potential, as there are glass windows behind the bar area so if you have loud talkers at the bar, it bounces back at you - most noticeable if you're sitting at the community table in the middle - the booths are much more protected further back. We have sat at the same seats at the community bar each time we have been there, but it's pretty good and the noise isn't generally a concern - might be later in the evening/night when there is a fuller bar area - we usually are there for a mid-afternoon lunch so it's not so bad. Do yourself a favour and also try the Desert Bloom cocktail - its very good! So, until next time!

Once we parked, we took a short walk to the restaurant, and reservations are recommended because the lines get long and wait time can be very long because this spot gets hot. We were seated right away, and Jake was our server. We did not come for dinner, but just for snacks and drinks because we already had dinner reservations. The place has it all, and it's an open-air restaurant that opens up, giving you a nice view of the outside. It's like a mini oasis with lounge chairs, fans, chandeliers, all types of tabletop games, bean bags, and live music. There is an outdoor-like area and a more enclosed area. We started off with some bubbles and some wagyu pigs in a blanket. These were to die for and were tender, juicy, and rich with flavors. We had some bread, asparagus, and a truffle butter that Jake recommended, and everything was fantastic. The freshly baked bread had that wood-fired taste we all love, and the butter melted in your mouth. The asparagus were cooked to perfection. We plan to go back here for dinner the next time to try more food. As the night went on, the lights in the park came on, and music and bands started playing, and the whole area lit up with excitement. This area is a great place to eat, drink, listen to music, and enjoy.
