I seriously love Phil. I've been taking my car there for everything for about 4 years now and I have never been disappointed. He charges fair prices, always thoroughly explains what might be the problem with your car, what your options are, and what he recommends. Just a few weeks ago I had my car serviced at a dealership and they told me something needed to be done that would cost about $500. I took it to Phil and he actually told me I should talk to the dealer because they should pay for it under warranty. He said if he were to do it, it would cost about $300. It's things like that that make me feel he is trustworthy and not trying to swindle you. Also, he is a genuinely nice guy, and seems to really love what he does. A+ Highly recommend! read more

I got completely scammed at Phil's Auto Repair. I called last Thursday asking if they could help with an inspection sticker. They said yes and this was a blatant lie. I let them know over the phone and in person that I recently failed an inspection, repaired all of the issues but had my horn break in the mean time. They said they could take a look at it. When I came to pick up my car, there was no inspection sticker. Turns out they don't actually do stickers and brought me to a guy down the street. They charged me $130 as a service charge for giving my car a full inspection and no sticker. Why the hell would I pay $130 for inspection and no sticker if I'd be getting an inspection anyways with my sticker for $35?! It's because I was lied to and taken advantage of. Phil you knew exactly what you were doing and I feel so stupid for putting blind faith into your shop. The labor was done so I'm not getting a refund but be warned. Zero integrity here. read more

After being notified of a an oil leak I took my Mazda right away to Phil's to be looked at. They were able to evaluate it that afternoon and he determined I would get a better deal taking it to the dealership due to the warranty coverage. I've known Phil for over 20 years. He's always been good to me and kept my cars running. The only day that is good for me to get my car fixed is Monday. Yesterday was Monday and I had gone in to see him the week before and set up an appointment to bring my car in yesterday morning. When I got there, he wasn't there. It seems he don't like to come in before noontime. I would think though since he knew we were coming, he would be there for us since the guys that work for him don't seem to know how to work on our car. I brought my car to him because my engine light came on and the AC doesn't work. After wasting our whole day and tells us that our car is ready after 6 pm, I find out that our car was not fixed at all. All he did was give us an oil change and charged us $166.00 and acted like he gave us a deal. He did not give us a deal because he did not fix the problem with my car. I could have gotten an oil change for less money at Jiffy Lube. Not to mention the fact that I never asked for an oil change. Now, I have to find another mechanic that can fix my car. It breaks my heart that he treated us so poorly. I thought he was a friend but I guess he doesn't want our business anymore. read more

Phil is very nice and kept me informed of the cost and timeline of the repairs to both our family cars. He did a great job explaining what repairs were needed now and what repairs could wait. When he replaced the motor mounts for my Acura MDX, he saved the old broken parts and showed them to me when I came to pick up the car and also explained how they work! In addition, he replaced my brakes and rotors for half the price as when I had them done at Firestone, and he showed me that the quality of the brakes he was using was better than the quality of the ones I had. He also guaranteed no problems with the brakes for 1 year or he would fix them for free. So far I've had two cars repaired at Phil's, and I feel that I've found a mechanic I can trust. Phil was a pleasure to work with. I called on a Tuesday to schedule an appt & I got an appt for the following day. They open at 8am so I dropped my car off before work (& because I work closeby, Phil gave me a ride to work). I took my car in for brake pads, oil change & a new battery for my push button door lock/unlock keychain thing. The cost of the repairs was very reasonable and he had my vehicle done & ready in no time (he called me & left a message when my car was ready). I've been going to Phil's for over 10 years now. I've had 3 cars during that time and Phil's has been a God send to me. He has never misdiagnosed one thing. My cars have been repaired and serviced perfectly. Here's the thing about Phil - he's the most honest guy in the world. I took one of my cars to him and he looked at it for about an hour and came out to talk to me. He told me that we could keep it on the road for about $350.00, but within a few months it would be back and then back again. He said I could end up doing repair after repair in the next year or so. He recommended that instead I save the money and put it towards buying a new car. He's told me when something is unsafe and he's warned me things that would be a problem down the road. I have been going to Phil's for over a decade. I just wanted to take a moment and leave some positive notes. I always feel comfortable with recommendations that Phil makes. He is quick to give you options saying you can wait months to fix this or because of safety or mechanical issues you should act on it. I have never felt I was sold something I didn't need. Phil has also taken time to test drive the car and not charge for minor things like topping off fluids. His prices are fair and the work has always been excellent. Having numerous cars, I have been dozens of times over the last decade. Honesty goes a long way and is a special trait to have as a auto repair shop. I hear so many horror stories about bad experiences at dealers or other shops and it doesn't have to be this way. A note on prices I know he is less costly than dealers and feel his prices are very reasonable.
