This was absolutely delicious and like nothing I at least have ever had. Even when I was in France. The macrons were so fresh and like actually crumble in the inside like cake. I got the gelato which was coffee, flavored and then put a lavender vanilla macro on top. Super quick and helpful servers. Like I said not your average ice cream shop. Pretty cute uncomfortable in the inside, but we only sat down for a minute cause I wanted to see if we could catch the trolley.

My favorite was the apple pie cinnamon bun, unreal flavor and perfect texture! Their coffees are delicious and varied. Their whole bean prices to take with you are a bit out of line. So the proprietors of La Baguette French Bakery may not actually be "French." That aside, this…read morequaint little shop produces some of the best baked goods in the Lewes, DE area. One of the Lewes residents recommended this place during my recent stay, and an excellent recommendation it was! Located about 3 miles from downtown Lewes, there is plenty of parking in the busy shopping center...which I always appreciate. Don't be surprised if there is a long line upon walking in as this place is popular with the locals. The smell of freshly baked bread is the first thing that hits you. There is a wide selection of croissants, cakes, muffins, cookies, rolls, danishes, and of course, loaves of bread. A complete list of their offerings can be found here: https://www.labaguettede.com/menus/#lewes-menu As I was vacationing with a group, we got a few items; but I opted for the namesake baguette. When we returned to the AirBnB, the skinny baguette was still warm and had the signature crispy-ish exterior and nice flaky interior. Spread on some butter with coffee, and that was a perfect breakfast. I forgot to take a pic, but the breakfast bacon, egg, and cheese sando was excellent. Crispy strips of bacon, fluffy eggs, melty American cheese, is contained within toasty bread. At $8.50, honestly that is a good deal since it was large enough for two meals. Service was efficient, albeit perhaps a bit brusk...but it was busy so I'm not gonna detract any stars. The staff behind the counter just want you to give the order and don't have time to engage in too much small talk. From start to finish, a large-ish order of 12 items (including 3 breakfast sandos) only took about 8-10 minutes. In additon to baked goods, there are grocery items, t-shirts/cups, and other retail items for sale. While there is limited seating indoors, if you're lucky enough, snag one of the small table outside to enoy dining al fresco.

We had the butternut squash soup , deviled eggs and the chicken salad on a croissant. The coffees were high quality too. The dining area is very casual. The cafe is attached to a very nice bakery and boutique which is situated just south of downtown Lewes. The only downer: The parking lot is very rough. It is all gravel with a lot of stormwater ponding and it wax very muddy. Very limited spaces too. It was hard fining a parking space but it is worth the aggravation to experience this place.
