The total came to $14.79, which is an awesome lunchtime bargain. I honestly can't remember the last time I fed two people lunch for under $15. Major budget win. It had been 15+ years since my last chili dog from Jimmy's, so while running post-Christmas errands and finding ourselves nearby with no real timeline, we jumped on the opportunity. Things have definitely changed since my last visit. It's clear Jimmy's has dealt with some difficult customers over the years--numerous signs now ask folks to grab their food and head out. No eating inside, no public restrooms, and no replacing lost, stolen, or forgotten beverages or chips "due to a high rise in thefts and customer walk-outs." Back in the day, I remember a packed counter with customers chatting and eating. That era may be gone--but thankfully, the food hasn't changed where it matters most. My love for Jimmy's chili cheese dog remains completely intact. It's not the hot dog or the bun doing the heavy lifting here: simple white bun, basic hot dog, lots of onions and mustard. No, it's *that chili*. Good lawd, that chili. I don't know what magic is in it--maybe the greasy orange residue it leaves behind--but one bite instantly reminded me why Jimmy's holds such a special place in my heart. I demolished the entire thing in seconds, with only audible moans to signal that I had not, in fact, been transported to actual Food Heaven. The fries were a solid supporting act--thick-cut potatoes, perfectly fried, piping hot. They came unsalted, but salt packets were thoughtfully included in the to-go bag, so no real issue there. The portion size was bigger than expected for the price. The hot sausage with cheese was another win: perfectly grilled, slightly charred, and just spicy enough to satisfy. Served on the same basic white bun with American cheese, it was simple, classic, and done right. Plenty of free, on-site parking is available right out front since Jimmy's is located in a strip mall. Be sure to check the hours--6am to 4pm most days. Jimmy's won't satisfy a dinner chili dog craving, but it will absolutely fill your belly at lunchtime and leave you wanting more!

The lady behind the counter said, not many people were coming in to sit since February so they shut down the seating area. Too bad, because it was a cute little counter to sit. Regarding the hotdogs, I ordered two chili dogs with mustard. The hotdog itself was very bland. The chili was just OK. I would not go out of my way.

Given the festival atmosphere happening nearby, I expected crowds. Instead, I walked in and had the place entirely to myself. Fantastic! The woman working the counter greeted me right away and had exactly the kind of friendly-but-slightly-snarky personality that I absolutely adore. She made ordering fun without overdoing it, which immediately scored points in my book. After looking over the menu, I kept things relatively simple and ordered a chili cheese dog with onions, no bun, served on a bed of French fries, plus a can of Diet Coke. Total damage: $10.07. When she asked if I wanted the hot dog cut up before everything was assembled together, I enthusiastically accepted. Someone who understands that sometimes food is supposed to be a glorious mess is my kind of person! While waiting for my food, I took a look around. Future visitors should know that indoor seating is extremely limited. There's one high-top table just inside the door and about six barstools along the counter. However, that's not really where this place shines. Outside, there are several picnic tables, plus a beautiful covered side porch with another six to eight tables. If the weather is nice, absolutely plan to eat outside. If the weather isn't cooperating, I'd probably recommend takeout. A few minutes later, my masterpiece was ready. I grabbed my food and drink and headed straight for the covered porch. It was approximately 92 degrees outside with a heat advisory in effect, which most reasonable people would consider a terrible time for an outdoor picnic. I am apparently not most reasonable people. The meal was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chili deserves special recognition because it was actual chili, not the mysterious meat sauce that sometimes masquerades as chili on hot dogs. This stuff had real texture, generous chunks of ground meat, and just enough spice to keep things interesting without setting your face on fire. The diced onions were plentiful, the cheese was perfectly melted, and everything was assembled exactly the way I requested. It was messy. It was delicious. It was absolutely worth eating with a fork. For my first visit, this was a solid win. The food was good, the staff were great, the prices were reasonable and the porch made for a perfect place to sit and enjoy a summer evening. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu! Stumpy's offers several specialty dogs that caught my attention, but I wasn't quite brave enough to try their Strawberry Dog during Strawberry Jam. Maybe next year. Maybe.

The venue can be overwhelming, with lots of choices. One section of the menu was dedicated to hotdogs, one section is dedicated to non-hotdog entrées, and also Appetizers, desserts, and drinks. The dogs here are amazing! I loved the Chicago dog, but when I had my a bite of the Big Mac dog I wished I got that one too. Then we had the pastrami dog making it a three dog night. The fries are also especially delicious because they are crunchy and battered. My little one had a kids meal that came with fries and he was forced to share. With any hotdog, you get your choice of beef,/chicken, or veggie. We went beef all the way, and it was a great choice. The dogs are split and grilled on a flat top, and maintain all of their juicy goodness. And the toppings just enhanced everything. If you're a hotdog purist, ketchup and relish or mustard and onions would also make for perfect dogs. The staff was friendly and super accommodating to a feral toddler. For three hotdogs, a kids meal, I need rings, and drinks, the $40 price felt like a bargain. Great quality and value.

Husband got the foot long coney dog and my son got a sausage with some kind of sauce on it. I eat about 2 hot dogs a year so when I say it was delicious, I mean it. Now the bad. My 4 year old grandson got grilled cheese. It took forever for the food to come out. Like forever forever. He ate like nothing bc he drank his whole drink while we were waiting as we had been at the park for a couple of hours beforehand. I know, not unusual for a little guy. That's not the real problem. I got a side of onion rings and it was almost $5 for like 6 onion rings. Ketchup in little packets... not cost efficient and annoying for us. Had to track down waitress to get husband a second beer and me a first. There was no air conditioning and it was so hot in there!! AND THE WORST THING OF ALL... WHEN THE BILL CAME THERE WAS A 20% INCLUDED GRATUITY FOR "LARGE PARTY", which was not discussed. First of all, it was 4 ppl. That is not a large party. Second of all, this was not mentioned by staff. I see this sometimes with a group of 8 or more and it is usually noted in a menu somewhere or mentioned. But 4 people is not a large party. My husband and I both worked in the restsurant industry in our younger years. We get it, servers need to be taken care of, but come on. BEWARE. I would have gone back for that hot dog even with the sloooowww service and just not gotten a side, but that automatic gratuity thing is ridiculous. Customer lost.

He scarfed down two of them and a good bit of an order of french fries. You can also get hotchee-burgers which I have yet to try. While I enjoy the toppings on the hotchees, that's a bit too much food for me on a day where we have an all evening outing at a far off baseball field. I will say, I love the fries here. Not only are they golden brown, hot, bite-sized,... they don't put too much salt on them!!! They taste amazing! I was trying to eat a little healthier so I ordered a house salad (i think - it's the one with kalamatas and feta) and it was great! The house greek dressing is wonderful, not too much not too little. Lettuce and tomatoes super fresh. I like the layout too--it feels accessible for all as I watched a wheelchair be pushed through. The middle of the afternoon is surprisingly peaceful and pleasant between lunch and dinner rushes. The big windows display the weather outside. It started raining not long after we got there and ceased before we left. Staff is helpful, kind, courteous and friendly, especially to each other. There are many desserts on display... But we were full! Multiple fruit pies and rice pudding. For those who don't know, the Hamilton began sponsoring our NYE events a few years ago. I'm extremely grateful for what they've invested into the community, though they were already a huge staple of our town. They were tiny, take up not even half a stall, and would have pretzels in different warming trays. This store is very much that, only in a bigger building and a lot more stuff cluttered about. They do two unique things at this pretzel place. They sell "rivets" which is a continuous link of pretzels in a long slab. You rip one off and you eat the baby pretzel as you would any other. I though rivets would've been more like nuggets or pretzel bites. So when I got one rivet and got a single rectangular pretzel I was a little disappointed. They also took pride in their dipping sauces. The dipping sauces they offer are off the shelf frostings in tiny containers. Not a bad idea, but was hoping for some unique flavors beyond buttercream. I would've liked a cheese wiz to dip my pretzel in, but they didn't offer it. If you want a pretzel, it gets the job done.
