I've been going to Phillipo's Pizzeria for years. Expectations are always high and they never disappoint! I ordered three items as I was having a couple of friends over. I ordered the usual- large plain pie, personal buffalo pizza, and chicken wings (yes you heard right, I ordered chicken wings from a pizzeria). The plain pie was slightly chewy but the bottom had just the right doneness and the crust was crispy but not too burnt, BRAVO! The buffalo pie is my favorite buffalo pie in the area. The sauce has the right amount of tang to complement the blue cheese and it's topped off with a reasonable amount of grilled chicken. Now onto the wings- I don't normally order wings from a pizzeria, but these are the exception. The skin had a crispy, crunchy texture, one would assume from deep frying, and they're not overloaded with sauce which is contrary to how most prepare them. The only issue I had was that the delivery was longer than was stated and was very long (1 hour 20 minutes ) but it was worth the wait considering the pizza was piping hot. If you're in the area looking for a local pizzeria, I would highly recommend it! read more

I never got to try their pizza. Got their menu in the mail. Placed an order online. Waited an hour, no pizza. Finally called them. First they said their online ordering has problems, but they'd take my order over the phone. When I gave them my order and my address they said they deliver to scotch plains (like their menu says) but not ALL of scotch plains. I happen to be too far. Great. Maybe Phillipos should put a map on the menu to let everyone in scotch plains know where the cut off is! read more

Not the best pizza or the best wraps. The pizza doesn't have the best flavor, something is missing. And when I got a chicken BLT , I felt the same way. Garlic knots are always bland or stale. Do not recommend, there are hundreds of pizza places out there, and this is not the best. read more

I've been ordering from Phillippo's since my husband died 2 years ago. (hate cooking for myself) I have absolutely no problem with their food. What I have a problem with is the customer service. After months of ordering from them on a regular basis and making sure the order was over the 20.00 minimum. (I'm in Linden) I placed an order that was just under 20.00. They refused to deliver it. I stressed that I was a regular customer and couldn't they make an exception just this once. I was told NO. So I stopped ordering from them for 6 months. Then they showed up on grub hub... so for the last 6 months or so I've been ordering thru Grub hub because I missed their Antipasto and a few other items. I've had a few minor issues, but tonight was it for me. I ordered an Antipasto, Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and a piece of cheese cake. Order came to 45.19, with the tip and other charges. Order arrives and the Fettuccine has no chicken. I call and tell the girl that answered the phone and she puts me on hold, comes back and says the kitchens said they realize their error and they will give me a credit on my next order. I tell her I don't really want the credit I want the chicken. I need the protein. She puts me on hold again, comes back and says that is the best they will do. So... I AM DONE WITH THEM. Don't deliver to Linden if you don't want to send someone back is you make a mistake. read more

We order from here a lot...but the last 4 pizzas have been seriously burnt on the bottom. They need to get it together, no one likes burnt, dried out pizza. On a good day it's great...but lately not good at all, at least not the pizza. read more

I never leave reviews but I've been ordering at least once a week from this place for around 6 months. Everything they make is delicious. Pizza is always fresh and delicious. This is our new favorite pizza ~ it's larger than the typical large pizza. The plain cheese pie has a decent amount of sauce & cheese, no need to request "extra cheese". Our friends in Rahway ordered from Phillippo's when we visited. The delivery time was accurate & the pizza was hot. Since then, we've ordered pizza on 3 occasions and it's delicious! read more

Food was ok at best realistically however, some staff come across as rude. Based on food for something quick and easy I would recommend this this establishment. But based on overall experience between speed, service, and price I would just walk away. The overall customer experience ruined it for me. They have young new staff not used to being polite and older mature staff just trying to do things right. read more

Seems to me that delivery is the common letdown for Phillippo's. Opened my box of pizza to cheese spread everywhere. When trying to take a slice of pizza out, all the cheese slid off. Got two stars because the flavor was still there. read more

I'm reviewing the food + delivery. Honestly, I've never had their pizza ... but during a snow storm last winter, the delivery guy made it to my home in more than reasonable time. Maybe he slid his way over. After all that, I must give them the 4 stars, even though their cheese ravioli isn't all that great. The salads and sandwiches are pretty good. I ordered a buffalo chicken panini and fries... The panini is essentially a 6 inch sub pressed. It was dry with not much of anything going on. The fries were over cooked and from sitting in the container so long they were soggy. The whole thing was cold.. I had to reheat it. It also took about an hour and 20 mins to get here. Ordered grilled chicken and broccoli from the dieters delight menu and asked for no sauce. When the food was delivered it was COVERED in this awful yellow sauce. The food is great we usually order once a week. The pizza is not so great though. I would definitely recommend the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and their onion rings are always done fresh. I never used to really like pizza, but I love the way they make their pizza here. We frequent this place alot. Everything I have had here is good. The service is also fast and good as well. I love the renovations they did here. It gives it a much more inviting feel. I have also tried other dishes on their menu, like the chicken tenders & fries, spaghetti, linguini in clam sauce, chicken alfredo, chicken Caesar salad, and their meatballs. One delivery boy always barks at my dogs. He is a handsome young man with a black car and amazing service. The art of delivery isn't just about getting a tip, it's about overwhelming the customer with such a huge variety of emotions to the point there mind is absolutely boggled. This one boy totally does that, he works there often and sometimes I make sure he is always the one to deliver he makes every customer feel like they just went on vacation to Egypt, great young man, awesome car, awesome light colored eyes, kinda looks like Cheddar Bob. Unfortunately I was very disappointed by my first experience with this pizza place, making it my last. I found them through grub hub and ordered a margherita pizza. It came with regular marinara sauce, no crushed tomoato, one sad rectangle of mozzarella per slice, and dried basil flakes. When I think of margherita, I think rustic, fresh ingredients. Globs of mozzarella, hunks of tomoato, and fresh basil leaves. My son wouldn't even eat this pizza. The frozen margherita from target outdoes this one. Sad experience. read more

Literally standing in this place as I write this, as well my first time being here for pizza. If I had to leave a comment in regards to customer service for this place; I'd say it was so-so. Started off smooth but I don't know maybe I'm anal, but something turns me off about a place when a simple request like well done my slices is greeted with disdain or obvious facial reactions of some attitude to the point the guy behind the counter had to ask her what's wrong. If I order 6 slices and ask to well done 3 how can 3 of the slices come out at the same time as the rest. They obviously aren't well done then smh don't be mad at me because you chose not to do it right the first time and had to re-do it. I'm sure opening and closing a oven is extremely taxing and time consuming....Anyway I rate this place a one star for the attitude to a request by the girl... Hopefully the slices can make up for it on my way home now to try them... read more

I am so disappointed in this restaurant. We have used Phillippos for the past four years for family gatherings. This year the catered food was delivered on the wrong day it was delivered on Friday when the dinner was on Tuesday. When we called we were told that this would not be a problem and the order would be redone for the correct day. It was redone, in fact they sent back the food that was delivered on Friday. It was burnt and dried out all three trays! We couldn't feed that slop to our guests, it was humiliating. When we called the restaurant they could only apologize! I will never order from here again, I hope you go out of business, you deserve it! read more
