Office experience was awful, I made an appointment for my one remaining cleaning that insurance provided a week in advance and was told I needed a deep cleaning on the right side and they informed me that I was able to use the cleaning for that purpose. Got to the dentist day of and was told my insurance would cover x amount and I'd be responsible for $365, 2 different stories from one week to the next. On May 20, 2024 I visited Dr. Bradford office for the first time. Everyone was very nice but, no one introduced themselves to me. Not the doctor the receptionist or the dental assistant. I have a bad gag reflex so they sent me to a specialist to get a 360 x-ray at a cost of $110 dollars. My old dentist assistant didn't seem to have a problem getting x-ray's but this one did. The doctor told me it looks like I have a couple of cavities to fill but we will get back to you when we get the x-rays. That was 44 days ago and no one has gotten back to me. Dr Bradford is the best dentist I have ever had. IDK why but I have always found the dentist hugely anxiety provoking. Just going in for a cleaning makes me nervous. In my 40s getting braces, nervous, like to the point of tears nervousness. I know it's stupid, but I just can't calm myself down. Dr Bradford makes it all as comfortable as humanly possible. He gave me medicine to calm me down, even offered to have one of the girls in the office take me home after the visit. He recommended the 6 month braces. It took a little longer than 6 months but less than a year and I now have the straight teeth I've wanted all my life. Dr Bradford is knowledgeable, patient, and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Georgia and all the other staff are wonderful too. read more

Previously would have recommended even though there is consistent turnover with dental hygienist's. Had an appointment for 4/1, they texted and confirmed the appointment including date and time approximately 3 weeks in advance. I show up for appointment that was confirmed and was told they had me on the schedule for the next day?!? I let them know I wasn't happy but came back the next day. I get to the office only to be informed the Dentist had left because they didn't think I was going to come. No telephone call to clarify, no effort whatsoever relative to already screwing up the original appointment. Terrible!!! Honestly, it's not that difficult to schedule people properly. I know what you're thinking... you dread the dentist and everything that comes with a dentist visit. You have the hygienist who condescendingly asks you how often you floss, the outdated magazines in the waiting room, and the dentist who looks at your teeth for two seconds and says you're fine. Well, my experience(s) at Dr. Bradford's office was the opposite of this! I've been coming here for a little over a year and I've left each visit satisfied and with a clean mouth. You can tell that everyone who works here truly enjoys their job and is there to help you. From the front desk receptionist (Georgia), to the man himself (Dr. Bradford), I truly feel like these people care about my well-being and are there to treat my dental needs. Dr. Bradford & the whole staff are fantastic. I literally had not been to a dentist for 11 years because of traumatic childhood experiences that left me with a paralyzing fear of anything sharp near my mouth. When I finally decided I should invest more care in my oral hygiene, a friend recommended Dr. Bradford, and I've been seeing him for over 3 years now. He is such a great guy, and his staff are like a little family. When I shared my previous experiences and fear of the dentist, they all completely understood and have been nothing but gentle with me since. I see some folks have commented negatively on his equipment, saying it needs to be updated, and his billing practices. I don't know whether he has the "latest technology," but he definitely has the equipment and resources to care for my teeth well. Yes, you have to move to a couple different rooms, but good grief - how lazy are you if that's your complaint? As for billing, I've never had any issues - in fact, they were incredibly helpful and patient when my insurance company changed how they operated and sent me the payment instead of sending it directly to Dr. Bradford's office. I didn't know a check was coming to me, so the mail went unopened in a pile for a long time before the staff called me and asked whether I had received the payment. It was a couple months late by that point, but they didn't charge me late fees or anything. As a former dentist-avoider, I would highly recommend Dr. Bradford's offices. read more

My teeth thank you...and so does my wallet. 5 Reasons I'm a fan: 1.) After calling 3 other local dentists... Me: "Hi, I'm calling to see if you can squeeze me in today, before the long holiday." Kathy: "Are you having any pain?" Me: "Yes." Kathy: "Let me see...well, are you available now?" Me: "Be there in 5 minutes." 2.) My last dentist told you needed some special deep cleaning and tried to charge me extra for it. When I asked whether or not that was true, my previous notion that my old dentist was a scam artist was confirmed. 3.) "Your teeth are immaculate, as far as decay is concerned." 4.) "Normally, insurance companies won't cover night-guards...but I'll try to make a case for it. It really saddens me to give 2 star to whom I hope could have been my new dentist but here are the reasons why it's a 2 start and not more. Don't get me wrong because I agree with the other yelpers that the staff is friendly, Dr. Phillip is a great communicator and won't suggest things that you don't need (that's where the 2 star comes from). HOWEVER..... the facility requires more up-to-date equipment. I mean if I can't lift myself up to rinse off at a nearby sink that kinda sucks.. Here's why the other 3 stars are missing. 1. I had to move to 3 different rooms and 3 different chairs to have my x-rays, get my teeth clean and see Dr. Phillip 2. During my teeth cleaning the hygienist, was using so much strength that i felt worst after leaving the dentist then coming in (granted I may not have come in with the best set of teeth). 3. The hygienist didn't make me feel warm and welcome nor did she make me feel any good about the condition of my teeth. She was speaking to me like I was a 6 year old. 4. During the cleaning, there was no suction of the saliva that formed or combination of that and blood which may come from the conditions of my gum or strength used to clean it....instead I was swallowing it which almost made me gag. 5. Because there was no sink easily accessible during the cleaning, the hygienist would give me a little bit of water from the squirt mechanism then use the suction tube to get the water out.. OMG that was just weird.. how do you swish your mouth properly while laying down? I'm waiting for a deep cleaning to be approved but i'm thinking I should reconsider if I should even go back to them....perhaps a second chance should be provided.. read more

Beware of mysterious bills... After my first visit I was hit with a bill that I was told I would not be getting. Oops! After my second visit I was hit with ANOTHER bill, this one for twice as much as what I was charged the first time. When Dr. Bradford explained what he wanted to do with my teeth I explained that I was concerned about cost, I was told not to worry about it and was hurried to the dentist chair. Every dentist i have ever gone to has explained costs before a procedure was done. The person at the front desk in the office, the one who makes appointments and sends out bills, said that she wasn't an expert on people's insurance and that she "cannot find out all the details of everybody's insurance plan" When I asked if that meant that I would never know if or for how much I would be ever be billed for any procedure, she laughed. My first experience with Dr. Bradford and Georgia (the office manager) was over a year ago, after I received a very high quote for my wisdom teeth removal from a trendy Hillcrest husband and wife dental team. I felt really uneasy and pressured after my appointment with this other dentist and wanted a second opinion. I've noticed in the other reviews this is a common reason people come to Dr. Bradford, and it's a good one. They understood the urgency and invited me to stop by right away, even though it was closing time during the holidays. Dr. Bradford confirmed my suspicions - a $400 bone graft for each impacted wisdom tooth is not necessary, not being sedated while having 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed isn't the best idea, I don't suddenly have 6 cavities (but maybe one deep groove that could be sealed up). He assured me that nothing was urgent and offered to refer me to the right person to get my wisdom teeth removed. I went back a few days later for a cleaning with Heidi, who I've had more cleanings with since. She is kind and professional and doesn't guilt or embarrass you. She does a thorough cleaning, they're not trying to sell you on a deep clean later. I like her a lot. I like everyone at the office a lot and I've found a dentist for life. They are all so accommodating, answer every question, and make it so easy to come in. I really am grateful to have found a dentist I can trust. This isn't easy nowadays! I recommend Dr. Bradford to anyone that is looking for their "forever dentist". I have had 3 root canals, 6 crowns, 3 cavities and 1 bridge. I have had my fair share of dentist appointments and needless to say I have had some bad experiences with dentists such as not enough novocaine, pain during a procedure and waiting forever for my appointment to begin. Now married with kids he has taken the time to make my daughter comfortable with the dentist before she even needs a checkup. Let me summarize; new transplant to San Diego, in pain for over two weeks, no dentist. Was given a very high recommendation from a friend in Healthcare, that Doctor Bradford was the one to see. Reluctant to call, nervous and apprehensive to seek help, scared. Made the call and since I had been in discomfort for so long, the staff made an accommodation for me in an hour and a half. Honestly, I was hoping for the following week but sucked it up and Ubered over. Best decision ever! Doctor Phil came out to the lobby, sat down, chatted and made me instantly comfortable, who does that? Jackie took X-rays and I was quickly diagnosed. A root canal was almost immediately performed, I was put on antibiotics, a follow-up plan was put in play and I went home saying "why the heck did I not seek out Doctor Bradford sooner". As long as Doctor Bradford keeps practicing, he has a new patient for a very long time. My hubby is going to see him next and I recommend you do the same. After my first visit I thought I finally found the good dentist with reasanable prices (we pay out of pocket). Well it turns out that first visit was cheaper beacuse my husband and I were first time paitents. Soon after I went to do some work as I had cavity on my tooth. I told him that I do not want local anesthetic since it is just cavity (unless it is rooth canal I do not like taking anything). Well, Dr. Bradford refused to do work on my tooth unles I take it. And so I had no choice and he gave me twice as much and he was so brutal while working on it that after anesthetic weared of (literally after 3 days I still felt some in the back of my tounge) i had such a huge pain for several days because he iritated it too much. Then I tought maybe my tooth was really bad and maybe it is OK and decided to give him second chance. This time my husband went for check up and it was double the price then the first check up. He told him that he might need some work on one of the tooth so he decided to open it up. It turns out that tooth was healthy but he opened it sooo deep because he did not find anything and then he put the filling in. Then a month after my husband had a terrable pain caused by the same tooth. He had to find an emergancy dentist over weekend to take an X-Ray and check what is it. It turns out that filling was soo deep that it was hitting the nerve and it got inflamed so he needed to do rooth canal immediatly. First thing Monday he called Dr. Bradford and they took him in right-away and Dr. confirmed that he needs rooth canal on his previously healthy tooth drilled through for no reason. When my husband explained what happened he said he may get some discount for the rooth canal later... after ruind him completeley to pay him out of pocekt over 1000$. He must have been an idiot. We never went back to him. read more
