Philadelphia Candies in Sharon, PA, is a gem for sweet-and-salty lovers! Their chocolate-covered pretzels, crisps, and potato chips are pure bliss. The milk chocolate is rich and creamy, perfectly balancing the crunchy, salty snacks. I love the variety--original potato chips for that classic sweet-salty hit or kettle-cooked for more chip flavor. The store's cozy vibe and stellar service make it a must-visit!!

It has taken me 45 years to find the Coconut Easter Egg that my dad bought me when I was 6. Through the years, I would go to the website and pick the egg and get all the way through checkout only to stop because the price of the egg was the same as the shipping charge. I couldn't imagine paying the fee. Well, I went through the same horse and pony show this year and did not back out. The package came perfectly shipped in dry ice. The memory of smell is the strongest sense and when I opened the box, this egg brought back the memory of my dad. My only regret is that I didn't push the button years ago. Oh, how does it taste...just like I remember.

I had the honor and privilege of traveling with my dad back to Sharon where he grew up this summer for his 65th high school reunion. Philadelphia Candies was on the MUST visit list as we had quite a bit of chocolates to pick up; brought them home to TN on ice in a cooler, and they did not disappoint; they never do. Customer service was most excellent; I highly recommend Philadelphia Candies. Come one; come all! This was my first visit to the store front and being with dad and listening to his memories was priceless, and to think that my grandparents crossed the threshold of this store decades ago. Well, let's just say the continuity of generations is of utmost importance.

Have you ever heard of a confection called a croquette? I hadn't, but my boyfriend grew up eating these dreamy goodies that are the signature item at Philadelphia candies. Here's the factual description of a life-changing chocolate experience: Made from scratch butter creams are covered in Milk Chocolate and then hand rolled in peanuts. Honestly, though, you really need to try croquettes to discover their deliciousness. The lovely people at Philadelphia candies offer up just about every kind of candy you can imagine - and some you haven't. Personal favorites include the melt-aways, the coffee bark (chocolate-covered espresso beans, but even better) and, of course, the croquettes. Also, they will sample anything for you, in full-size pieces, seemingly for an unlimited period of time. I think it's important that we all agree not to abuse this so that they keep doing it this way! Some fanciful chocolates include multiple different versions of mini chocolate handbags, not-so-mini chocolate high-heeled shoes, and a man in a bowler hat with a message "I'll drink to that." Also on offer: party items, cookbooks, aprons, chocolate-drizzled popcorn, and hilarious cupcake wrappers (including one that makes your cupcake look like a hamburger. Honestly, you just have to see it (and taste it) to believe this place. We were visiting family in Northeastern Ohio and drove to PA just to get this candy! While you're near Northeastern Ohio, I also recommend checking out Francesco Pizzeria - which I also reviewed on Yelp. I debated selecting the price category for this review. While it certainly isn't "cheap" for the high quality of the merchandise I consider Philadelphia candies to be a great value. By the way, their candy is available via the web if you can't make it there for a personal pilgrimage.

Ask the Community - Philadelphia Candies

So Philadelphia Candies is NOT in Philadelphia? I can't find anything in philly, just OH and Eastern PA.

Our name originates from the Greek language with the meaning "candies made with brotherly love." The company was founded by 3 brothers in Sharon, Pennsylvania which is located near the PA - Ohio border. We do ship online orders to Philadelphia daily…

Once we got up from signing in, everything we touched was disinfected immediately and set for the next person. There was an optional short tour which we accepted and enjoyed, as well as champagne when we arrived. We stayed in the Grand Turret and it was a beautiful, clean and well appointed room. The welcome tray and bottle of champagne was a treat. There were robes and slippers in the room and a gorgeous, huge jetted tub with lots of fun bubbles and bath herbs to toss in. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was great. There was a menu of 3 or 4 options to choose from which were delivered to our room at the time we chose. The grounds and common rooms here are stunning. We didn't have much time to really sit and enjoy all of it but we did enjoy walking through and looking at all of the details around the property. The restoration done here is really something. Buhl's name is sprinkled on buildings and roads around the area and you can tell how appreciated he was in this town. We will definitely return for another visit (soon, we hope!) and maybe book an extra night so we can really take it in everything this Inn has to offer.

After having been partially destroyed by fire, vacated by a vagrant, and after sitting unloved and overgrown, the house has taken new life after being restored by the Winner family in the past 29 or so years. It really is magical inside and outside. I can see why people choose this as a wedding venue. I would love to come back and stay there and experience the spa. The guest rooms are pristine and the grounds are gorgeous.

We went last weekend and unfortunately I ended up very sick with food poisoning (only place I ate within 24 hours so sadly I know it came from here). Very very sad because we had raved about this place to everyone we know. Not sure what happened but I pray it was just temporary. Didn't have anything with lettuce so I know it wasn't that. The only other critique I could give is if you are a plus size person it's not very friendly. Very small booths. My husband is a tall bigger guy and he couldn't fit.

I had seen this one on the list before, but I never gave it a second thought, because we were always a way to far out. My wife said we were 7 minutes away. We decided why not. I will say that when you enter the building, never judge a book by its cover. I thought this would be a terrible experience. I was completely wrong. As soon as I walked in Jim greeted me with the humor of my WVU sweatshirt. He was the best winery host that we had experienced all day, and maybe all year, and we've been to least 70 different wineries this year. He got our feel what we liked, provided us the sample, then said maybe you would like to try this, and he was right. He was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.. The best thing is the wine, all of the dry, and even the semi-dry to the dessert wine was really good. We purchased a 1/2 case of wine, which happens to be our largest purchase for the trip.
