Ugh. When I first saw this was going into the old BBQ place I got really irritated. Only because every Pour House I've been to, has been overrun with drunk annoying college children. Since I am always one to give something a try and its literally walking distance from my house, I figured, SWEET more time for boozing! We showed up Saturday just in time for brunch (10-3pm) and watched a little football during. It's BYOB for right now, but she told us that they are expecting to get their liquor license any day now. Good. Get 'er done. They have a brunch menu and a lunch/dinner menu. Just your typical bar foods, maybe a little more dressed up. I dunno....I ordered the Migas and honestly, they were delicious. Their salsa is SO SPICY, so be wary. I like spicy foods/salsa's and my eyes were teary. MP on the other hand was practically bathing in it. Normal. He ordered some huevos and really enjoyed it! Service is pretty good, the waitress was lovely and someone was always refilling our waters and picking up dirty plates...etc. There also seemed to be a ton of people working....strange for an 11am on a Saturday. But this is probably normal for these types of places and I'm just an idiot. There are 4 huge TVs out on the patio and a few inside. We will for sure be back, such a great patio and perfect for those days you want to get s$*%ty on a patio without having to drive. Ha! Will add an additional star when they start serving booze! :-) read more

PhD - Pour House Dallas - American Near Me - Dallas, Texas

My husband and I have been coming here for over 10 years. There is nothing fancy here but that is what we like. It is laid back and relaxed. They are always friendly and willing to help with anything they can. When I went through braces a few years back they altered dishes to accommodate my needs. We tend to judge other bars on this place. Not a lot measure up to them. I really miss going here during this pandemic. The first place we are going when this is over is back to PhD to sit at the bar and relax. Love you guys! read more

PhD - Pour House Dallas - a painting of a woman wearing a hat - American Near Me - Dallas, Texas

I enjoyed some food at PhD today, Tuesday is half off burgers & wine all day. Wahoo! My server was nice. The food came out promptly. But my fries were undercooked and barely crispy. The hamburger was juicy and a bit greasy, not over the top though. Would of seriously loved a thicker bun to handle the thickness of the burger, it was kinda wimpy. No pun intended. Overall, this is an easy going sports bar hang out for locals, everyone else is welcome too. No pinkies in the air while eating or drinking here my foodie friends. read more

A great addition to Oak Cliff! PhD is exactly what the neighborhood needed - a relaxed, come as your are, sports bar! The owner is extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile when it comes to pleasing his customers There is a huge patio that is wrapped so that it can be enjoyed on a cold night, live music on Friday nights and even talk about of karaoke coming on board. Although a specialty cocktail menu is still in the works, there is a great selection of beers with an influence on local breweries. The food here is decent enough for your standard bar food. I think personally think you can't go wrong with the red pepper penne, fish tacos or the sliders. This spot is definitely worth the trek if you don't live in the neighborhood and it is sure to get packed once word spreads! read more

The burger place you dream about...literally! Mouthwatering deliciousness. Service is prompt and friendly. We always start with the loaded waffle fries complete with bacon, cheese, jalapeños and chives that go perfectly with ranch dipping sauce. You would think with all those delicious toppings the waffle fries would become soggy, but they don't and instead are wonderfully crispy to the last bite. If you still have room for a burger, which you better make room for, I recommend the Hangover Burger. Bacon, cheese, grilled jalapeños, and a fried egg - just a few of my favorite things. My husband prefers the 7th Street Burger with fried onions, bacon, and grilled onions. The patty itself is well seasoned and juicy while the buns are toasted, yet soft and flavorful themselves (kinda sweet). Highly recommended! read more

Great bar atmosphere that happens to have delicious food! We tried the burger and nachos. Burger won hands down! (7th street burger to be precise. Ah-may-zing) Definitely try this place if you're looking for a casual bite. Cheap booze + great food + open late. read more

OK I was a little harsh on this bar the first time around. It's a solid neighborhood spot to fall into on a nice Saturday afternoon when the patio windows are open and the breeze is cool. Or maybe you're going to a show at The Kessler Theater later that evening and need a place to have a couple drinks and some basic bar food. It's good for all that. I still don't go out of my way for PhD, but it serves it's purpose in North Oak Cliff. read more

We make our way to PhD prior to concerts at the Kessler Theatre which is next door right across the street They have a covered patio or a restaurant inside. Great local beer selection on hand. Our favorites are the burgers and salads. Wings and sliders are great appetizers. read more

I'm a big fan of PhD. I enjoy the places further east on Davis in the BAD, but Phd has a much more relaxed atmosphere than those places. A great beer selection and a really friendly staff add to the relaxed atmosphere. There's no shortage of televisions, so you won't miss a thing. I like their wings....just the right amount of heat to go with a cold brew, and their mac dog, with its excellent jalapeno sausage, is my "go to." Easy parking (for BAD) and good prices. read more

Neighborhood spot for late night eats. I believe our servers name was Anna and she was particularly enthusiastic and that was welcomed. Sat outside which is something I rarely do in Texas but it was close to 9 pm so not as hot as it could be, only 92 degrees so bearable. I got my usual nachos with no meat and was happy with them. I also tried a Peticolas Ale I think (pretty sure I'm murdelizing the name). The taste was fair 9% ABV, I prefer stronger. My kids are in Spain right now; I should have them bring me back a Trappist, now that's an ale! read more

Great locale for quick dinner when seeing a show at Kessler. Service is pretty good, food is descent.

Richard was a great serve. He was attentive and made sure we always had what we needed. Definitely would come back!

NEVER NEVER AGAIN If I could give zero stars I would. The bartender Tony is a complete A**hole!! He was extremely disrespectful and acted like a kid! He also made the worst drinks I ever had. Will not be coming back and will definitely let my friends/ family to not ever come there! read more

They have a new and improved menu! The food here has always been great... but unfortunately the service has always been a little slow. We most recently went this Saturday (yesterday) for lunch/brunch and although it wasn't busy, our food took forever to come out. In fact, it took so long that our friend had to change her order for to-go so she didn't miss a 3pm appointment. We will still continue to come, just suggest a more efficient kitchen! read more

I wish I could give this place 4 and a half stars. The food was great and the drinks were good. The music wasn't to my liking at first but seemed to improve. Parking was tight so we were lucky to get a spot. I would definitely come back to try more things on their menu. read more

My favorite spot in Oak Cliff! Amazing staff, amazing burgers! Perfect place to watch your favorite game and enjoy a drink with your friends. The owner is so nice and friendly! I highly recommend this place! Don't forget to try the Mexican Candy Cocktail! read more

I live really really close so part of the attraction for me. I'm a huge Oak Cliff fan. I think there are more white people with dredlocks here and tattoes then anywhere else in the city. and the acceptance of that as normal is part of the attraction of many businesses in Oak Cliff. IMHO. Good draft beer. reasonable prices. and super friendly neighborhood service. You feel appreciated here. they may not know your name but acknowledge your presences with a smile. great hangover brunches. I'm personally addicted to hotwings. are they the best? not sure.. but they are good and the biz is convenient and they serve veges with the wings when many places do not. *reference oak cliff pizza who have great wings but no veges* )-: PhD (in general) U rock. (-; read more

So...revising my eealier review - I could have just been a little fired up...I understand they have a business to run...and truly it's the only place I think of for Sunday football...the energy is great and fans diverse...coming here I know I will find at least one more Titans fan!!! read more

Speaking for myself - I think I don't eat unless I eat out. Sad at times and true at times. It is a sport bar that I have to say is a really nice one. (Really don't go to them that often) I feel like I'm on the outside but I'm sitting in the inside. It seems to have maybe 3 area's. (Patio, bar, and dinning area) Plenty of tv's especially the dining area which is where I'm at right now. My service was good. Katie was my waitress and she was nice. I ordered scramble eggs with cheese, sausage, toast, and some potatoes with grilled onions and bell peppers. Everything was delis. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone especially if you like to drink and love sports. It's very comfortable. read more

Walked down to PHD for the game. Had some wings and waffle fries. #dope then went to the bar for some drinks. I must say. The Long island was on point and had me feeling very well. I really want to like this place because it's only blocks from my home but I struggle. I picked up a burger & fries to take home and it was a greasy mess. It literally stunk up my house for hours. I love a tasty burger but i don't want a heart attack. The bartender was super nice though. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in my hood. For their burgers they use Hawaiian bread, then lightly butter and toast it. Perfection. The frozen margaritas are the best in Dallas-strong and just the right lime twang. Not sweet. Wing spices are great. Fish tacos have a bite of heat. Sliders are very good too. Dog friendly with water dishes for them. Live music on the weekend. Large beer selection. Very friendly wait staff and bartenders. read more

After a long morning workin at the Food Bank - we opted to come to PhD for a good and hearty lunch. Cheeseburger for me please! It was big and juicy. Not too shabby at all. They did have a bloody may bar set up - kinda shabby really, just a bunch of bowls in a bin. It was ok. Not fancy at all. Overall, it wasn't horrible and it wasn't awesome - just ok. Perfect for a good lunch and soda. read more

I will qualify this by saying I have only been once. This place is pretty new right now but I'll be back for a deeper inspection. I really loved the indoor/outdoor space. It looks like it's meant to be mostly outdoor most of the time unless the weather prevents. Some good inside space, too, to hide out on a rainy or too-cold-for-patio-heaters TX day. The beer selection was good with friendly bartenders. Happy hour prices seemed reasonable. I didn't eat but took a gander at their menu and it really looked overpriced for what it was. I would definitely say check out their menu before heading over for a meal. If the pricing looks reasonable to you, go for it...but it might not. I also feel is should mention the ladies room is a one-holer. Unless they have another set of restrooms hidden somewhere, I wouldn't want to be here on a super-busy game night...or party night for that matter. One ladies toilet seems okay for a resto (which it is) but not nearly enough for a sports bar (which it is). read more

I'll lead with this: they have waffle fries. So, with that out of the way, the place reminds me of a bar. And maybe that's it's primary business but that's just not my favorite vibe. Sports on the TVs, items/beer sings hanging on the walls, high top tables, etc. the food was good but besides the fries that are magically made in the form of that famous breakfast item, it wasn't anything to write home about. Loaded Queso and Chips Bleu Cheese + Jalapeño Burger read more

I loved everything...except for the food. We went here for brunch. Service was awesome, our waitress was professional yet friendly. Atmosphere was good; definitely a sports bar first, restaurant second, but my fiance thought it would be perfect for us once football season starts. I ordered the migas enchiladas, which sounded interesting. The migas filling was good, but the tortillas were just a soggy mess. They tasted undercooked, but I highly doubt this place makes their own tortillas. Fiance ordered the biscuit and gravy; egg was undercooked, biscuit was soggy, and the sausage gravy was gravy on top of sausage instead of gravy made with sausage (he's from Mississippi, so he's sort of a biscuit and gravy connoisseur). Prices were fair, and the patio looked promising except for the rain. I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean and nice the bathroom was; I feel like a clean bathroom is a big plus. We'll be back to watch some games and try some of the other food, hopefully with better results. read more

This place is near home and convenient. They recently added a black bean burger option to their menu which was decent. The fries could have been cooked a little more and the options for tequila in my margarita were slim. I probably would not make this my fav place to go but it's alright when someone asks you to or when in a pinch. I am definitely pleased that there are now vegetarian options, so that keeps my interest. read more

The best place!!!! Fabulous happy hour from 4-7. Fantastic food & amazing service. We Loooove Jenn!!

We live just blocks away and decided to go last night to have a drink. We have been loyal customer at Jed's diner the last 4 years and with it closing we decided to try PHD out. The only thing good about our visit was seeing Bri a server we knew from Jeds. The margaritas were terrible, very watered down. We may try it again maybe it was an off night. We shall see. read more

Great atmosphere, lots of screens, super friendly staff. I want this to be my local place to watch the games. But it's not. $7.00 for a (14oz!) pint of beer. $10.00 appetizers ($9.50 for mozz sticks, really?!) The food is okay, but there is better in Oak Cliff for the same price. read more

Had really high hopes for this place, however these were dashed after eating here. Came for brunch, will most likely not be back Service- they are literally the nicest waitresses ever. SUPER friendly, not the most attentive especially given there were only like 10 people total at noon on a sunday Drinks- The drink special was awesome, 2 dollar giant mimosas was certainly a treat. $1 regular mimosas also isnt pretty shabby Food- Very bland. i got the hangover burger which was just a nasty greasy mess, i like greasy burgers dont get me wrong, but this was awful. The other brunch items turned out to be equally bland. Overall, i wanted to like oak cliffs newest sports bar, but with so much going on in the dallas brunch scene these days, this certainly did not make the cut even with super cheap drinks and awesome waitresses read more
