Quality last as long as it should, even without fill nails break off as they cant do anything else but break when using acrylic unfortunately. Their work is up to par both with fake nails and pedicure procedures around Coquitlam. Vibe was excellent when was there for both toes and hands. I came here after reading the reviews by other Yelpers. Most of the nail technicians are Vietnamese so you will hear that when they talked to each other. While the person who did my pedicure is pretty good, I am a bit iffy about the sanitation. I am not sure if they sanitized the equipment after every customers and I am not comfortable with the metal callus file which is actually painful on my sole. When I told my nail technician it was painful, she did not believe me. But after I insisted it was painful, she did reduce the pressure which helped some but not a lot. The service was not overly friendly and I did not feel particularly welcome. There was no acknowledgement when I arrived for my appointment nor was I checked on or told my nails were dry and I could go at the end of it. I was told to select the polish color but was not shown where the polishes were. So I was just staring at a wall display with only "Daisy" brand. It was only after I was seated that I saw there were more options available at other walls where you could get OPI and China Glaze plus other common brands. The only pluses were the price and the massage chair. It is pretty cheap for a spa deluxe pedicure for $30 and that includes hot stone (too hot for me), a minty oil massage, exfoliation and mask. The massage chair and bubbling water jets are a nice touch. And drinks were not served even though a sign said it is also included. It is a busy place but they can usually fit you in 1-2 hours after you call or walk in. I am not sure if I will go back. read more

This is by far the worst nail salon out there. The customer service is BEYOND AWFUL! My husband and I went for a pedicure, THEY USED THE SAME NAIL FILE ON OTHER RANDOM PEOPLE AND THEN USED IT ON US! No surprise here but my husband got a foot fungus from this place. My daughter and her friend went there to get a gel manicure. I have waited sooooo long to get my nails and pedi done. The wait is over yay! I wanted to go to my usual nail salon but they are still closed due to COVID-19. However, I saw that Phat nail salon was open! I have never been there before so I took a moment to read the reviews before making my appointment. The reviews were not very good but I really really needed a pedicure badly! So, I took a leap of faith and decided to give them a chance. I called them on May 26, 2020 so...like 2 days ago. First of all, they were able to give me a time slot on the same day which I appreciate! I called at 2:37pm and the lady who answered the phone gave me 4pm appointment (BONUS). I live close to their salon so it was super convenient. Secondly, the same lady advised me to wear a mask and come on time. I appreciate the fact that she gave me the heads up. So, I got there on time at 4pm and poked my head through their door and let them know that I have arrived for my allotted time. The front desk lady took my temperature and then asked me to wash my hands. Also, I noticed that the salon was meticulously clean, the plexiglass shields were in place, and the customers were separated to allow 2 meters. I truly appreciated their efforts in keeping everyone safe. At first, I got a pedicure and the lady who did my pedi was AMAZING! She did the most thorough job, gave me an excellent foot massage, and was very friendly. So, I thought why not I get acrylic nails done since they are so good...long story short, the owner lady accommodated my request yet again. The owner herself did my nails and I could not be happier. She was very patient, careful, and most of all she did an awesome job!!! The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because they seemed to bark orders at me which I didn't appreciate that much. They did an overall good job on my feet as I had gotten a pedicure but the next day my toes are swollen and throbbing. They were not welcoming at all and felt very uncomfortable, the price we payed was very decent and expected but didn't expect my feet to swell up and be in so much pain, basically have to wear sandals as my feet are in so much pain. read more

I have been here maybe 5-7 times. I really wanted to like this place as it was a convenient location but had only 1 good experience there. This one older lady did my pedicure twice and each time, she made me bleed from filing. She did my nails once too and same thing. And I'd suffer for few days afterwards whenever I shower or wash hands. There was one young lady who did my nails (acrylic) and when I told her they were all crooked (all leaning one way), she held my hands another way and said "they're not crooked if you look like at it like this." I was left speechless. I have been to other nail salons since and everyone else was so willing to help fix imperfections when you point them out. This visit was the last straw. One good experience I mentioned was the receptionist lady. She always answers the phone and does an excellent job and is friendly. Came here with my girl friend to get a pedicure and the experience was pretty good... However, I let them know that I was getting married in 5 days and to be careful with the length and cutting away at my nails. They tried to cut down the side of my nails. Yes, they're a little ingrown BUT they've never bothered me. I've had worse back when I was dancing in pointe shoes and even then, it never hurt me. If they did, I would go see a podiatrist or do it myself. After I told her that I was in pain from cutting into my nail too deep (she actually made me bleed but kept wiping it with the towel then put her hand over it so I wouldn't notice .. I did), we agreed not to cut at the other toes. In any case, they did go at it on the one foot, and it's definitely swollen and I'm in pain every time I take a step with that foot. Seriously worried about it getting infected and having to walk down the aisle on Aug 28.... They did argue that it'd feel much better tomorrow, but I don't think they realize that I never felt ANY pain to begin with so I'm just having to recover from the pain they brought upon me. 1.5-2 stars because they have a good selection of colour, love the hot stone massages, and I had a good time with my friend. Had to dock stars because their technique doesn't jive with me, and I didn't appreciate the unnecessary cutting. LOVE the hot stones massage with your pedicure though. I think I'll stick to my regular salon. My regular spot is further away, costs more and doesn't have a hot stone massage, but I know what to expect from them and vice versa, and I've never had a situation like this happen to me ever since I started going to them 5+ years ago. ------- 3:40 am EDIT BELOW I have to bring this down to a 1 star because I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 3 am due to the intensity of the throbbing pain I'm feeling. All I can run through my head is how the main lady insisted that I'll feel SO much better today. If only she could feel my pain... The greatest part to this is that it's not just ONE toe that was affected (as I initially suspected) but THREE toes. How could I say no to a $30 pedicure with hot stones?? It might be a little difficult to find, but it is next to a bubbletea place and on the same complex as the Churches Chicken on North Road, adjacent to the Tim Horton's / Save on Foods. Parking is a little difficult, as there is a small parkade with maybe 5 stalls. There is also some street parking. I wanted a pedicure randomly and stumbled onto this place. There were already four ladies getting pedicures so I had to wait a while, but this wasn't such a big issue because I simply went next door to get a bubbletea. They tried to get me in as soon as possible. The pedicure itself is quite nice, I love the hot stone massage and the scrubs, and there was also a mask. This is above and beyond my expectations for a $30 pedicure! Will most definitely come back! Pretty tempted to make this a monthly routine! read more

Worst service ever. Have been here 5-6 times. Each time thinking it will be better next time. Today however was the final straw. Gel nails chipped 4 days after getting them done. Came in to have them fix it. Only to be informed they were too busy today to fix them and to come back another day. While being told this the lady (who was quite rude) took an appointment over the phone for today for a mani pedi combo. YET they can take 30 minutes to fix my two chipped nails. Pretty disappointed with this salon. I've come multiple times and have always found their quality to be decent but service to be horrible. But today was the last straw. In the past, I have come and in general they disregard what I want. Sometimes I'll wait gems or a design and they will try to convince me that it won't look good or there way is better. Trying to make it seem like they are doing me a favour. They also will stop mid way of doing your nails to talk in another language to the other staff, completely disregard it their customers time. However, Today I came in and had an appointment which was scheduled about a month and a half ago. They did my toes and when they finished told me they couldn't do my fill until 2 (my appointment was at 12 and this meant I would have to wait about an extra 1.5 hrs). They said they had too many people booked and I would have to come back in for them to do French. They were trying to convince me to do a solid nail polish because one of the other ladies could do it but I was adamant about wanting french. Not only were they persistent that French wasn't "right for me" they weren't apologising for the inconvenience they were causing me. They showed a complete disregard for my time and did not even apologise for it. Very disappointing especially when I have become a regular. Scheduled mani pedis on $42 deal. The scheduling call was itself unpleasant due to the attitude of the manager. Her tone and attitude essentially indicate that a new customer is an unpleasant annoyance rather than a welcome, paying, guest. Thus, the fact that the mani shellac was an additional $20 each was not made clear. And any attempt I made to clarify the details of my reservation was met with increasing impatience and unpleasantness. When I entered the salon for the appointment I was told, brusquely and impatiently, to sit and wait. When my guests arrived, more confusion ensued as I tried to make sure we would all be given the same treatments. Slightly worse tone and behaviour than on the phone. The pedis went well. All the girls were attentive and careful. Though the older female manager kept interrupting to speak with them aggressively. But the real hell began with the mani. The girl I was given had essentially zero communication skills. She was extremely rough, aggressive, and bossy in a way that is far past any acceptable norm. Her treatment of my hands was rough, fast, and bewildering. She was not happy with my colour choice and I ended up accepting her colour choice, which I'm not happy with. But there really was no room for a reasonable discussion. The polish is far too thick and the process was extremely stressful and painful. I kept thinking it was me but after a day with the mani, my nail beds are swollen and painful, there are several very bad bleeding cuticle cuts, and a lot of the skin around my fingers has jagged cuts leaving my skin uneven and coated with polish (that the girl tried to wipe off throughout with the sharp edge of her nail (ouch)). I absolutely cannot recommend this place. I wish I could. Some of the girls are wonderful and sweet and I want them to have stable, happy employment. But the stress of dealing with this manager, and the danger of getting the wrong person (nevermind the real risk of infection to your cuticles due to the extremely aggressive cutting methods), is just too high. I may never get another manicure again. read more

Very disappointed with the professionalism shown during my visit to this place. I have recently moved to this area and took it upon myself to try this place out. Language and communication is a big issue here as most of them don't understand English and you have to constantly remind them as to what you need doing to your nails. I had regular nail polish on my hands and within a day it started peeling off. I hadn't even started my holidays and with my busy schedule I had to make time to go back to get 2 of my nails redone. One of the girls there who spoke better English was told to attend to me. I explained that it hasn't even been a day and it should not peel off that fast. I have my nails painted many times but have never experienced it to fall off so fast. She was very rude to me and didn't even care to listen to me stating that it can happen even in 2 hours. Smudging can happen but to actually peel off is unheard of as I have never experienced it . After some argument she goes to me saying that I was not a nice lady and didn't feel my complaint was relevant. All I was asking was to get 2 nails corrected and all this drama went on . Finally they did it with reluctance and all I could hear was them talking at the back out loud in Vietnamese. I love this place. I saw some people commented on the "friendliness level" here, I am not a huge socializer when I am getting my hair/nails done, I prefer to relax. However, I always think everyone here is smiling and in a good mood. No, they aren't going to have an in depth conversation with you, but if that is what you are looking for, you should bring a friend. Or a counselor. If you are looking for great nails for a great price, this is the place for you. I prefer my acrylics to be very short, and they always do a great job with mine. Some places cut my fingers in their hastiness to trim the nails as short as I would like, I have never had a problem here. The pedicures are AMAZING, and again, so well priced! I have been getting artificial nails done for quite some time now and have tried many many places. This place just happens to be close to my home and I was in a bit of a hurry. I got a full set of gel nails and was not all that impressed with them at first. They felt too wide at the top and I was sceptical about how long they'd last. Best nails ever. Its been 4 weeks and they've only barely started to separate from my nails. I get them done as short as I can get them and its not that often that the esthetician understands that when I say short, I mean really short! I came in today about an hour before they closed. My pedi was great, Tracy really took her time. She also noticed that I was really tired from my day at work, showed me how to put the seat back and proceeded to give me the best massage I have had. This salon has been my go-to place for three years now. I have used several salons in the tri-cities area and find this one to be the best for my gel nails -- they last, without pealing for well over a month. I have had my nails done - gels and pedi - before vacationing to Mexico for 14 days, and my nails looked as fabulous when I came back, as they did when I left -- and they took a beating, walking in the sand, playing in the surf... swimming, boogie boarding etc. They also take short notice appointments. Regarding the rudeness mentioned below. I never have seen it that way - I see it as a cultural difference, and as I don't know what they are saying, I cannot assume -- they are talking about me. Doing so, would mean I was highly insecure. But then again, I am not there to chat -- I just want my nails done, and done right. I am not sure what the woman's name is that does mine, which happens to be the one in the photo below, but I can assure anyone wanting a thorough job on their nails to go to her. She is who I insist on, when I go to the salon. She turns your hand around to various angles to ensure the nails are even, and really takes her time. Very professional at what she does. Don't expect to be entertained though - if you want entertainment, perhaps bringing along some earphones and watching a soap, or some other drama on your cell... would be a good idea. Disclaimer- I would rate this place zero stars if possible. The ladies who work in this nail salon are beyond rude. They sit around screaming in whatever language it is they speak laughing and being rude while completely ignoring their customers. You walk in the door and the lady at the front does not greet you she blurts out "What". It is very obvious that they don't care about their customers one bit. They are not friendly or engaging they just yap between themselves while making the people reviewing services uncomfortable. Some of the ladies in the chairs have the look in their face that they can't wait for their service to be over, which is the exact opposite reason we treat ourselves to these things to begin with. You will be relaxed, you will not have a good time. This place is so subpar it laughable. With so many nail salons around you won't be missing out by not coming here. I declined an optional service and the ladies freaked out for the remainder of the time my sister was getting a pedicure they were quite obviously talking about me and even asked my sister questions about me. Not only that but when I declined the service they decided to just leave my legs covered in some sort of lotion and dripping wet and told me to get out of the chair, as true professionals do. I give this a thumbs-up. I decided I was in need of a quick pedi before a vacation, and popped into this place at five o'clock and was sat in a chair within a few minutes. The girl doing my feet was attentive, but there's minimal chatter. Actually, it was fairly quiet, except a TV playing the news while all the technicians worked away. I think she did a good job, and I loved the hot stones. The price is great, and it's close to the skytrain so its super convenient. read more

EVERYONE IS SO RUDE. I only come here for their delux pedicures, but it is not worth it!!! All of the staff are so rude and rough while handling my feet. The lady who did my toes wore a fake Chanel cough mask and was constantly pinching and being really aggressive with my feet. While all the other ladies were super rude to my brother (rolling their eyes and ignoring him) I got shellac this past time and within a week the polish on my big toe came off while I WAS DRIVING. the entire piece fell off while I was doing nothing. And more continued to fall off during the rest of the week. I finally went back and the owner lady said they can only guarantee a week and I have to pay if I want it again. By now I only had 2 toes with shellac left, and had brought the nail peelings with me that I had. I showed her the shellac on my fingers and how it was 3 weeks and fine and sure it was the lady who was doing it didn't prep my toes properly. The lady continued to deny any faulty and started to blame it on me. NEVER COMING AGAIN, ladies and gents do yourself a favour and go literally anywhere else. The owner was very friendly and fast and neat. She listened to exactly what I wanted. And the price was exactly what I'm used to paying!
