I was disappointed upon hearing the news that Ice Cream Station's predecessor, Chicago Dog & Co,…read morewould be shutting down for good last October. A good hot dog makes for a great lunch for me, something just filling enough to fuel the rest of your day but doesn't overwhelm your hunger for a nice dinner. I was delighted to see a new company take over this land space and use it for more Chicago style hot dogs as well as ice cream. A good portion of the menu is carried over from their predecessor, but these are standard Chicago dogs (Chicago Style, Maxwell Street Polish, etc.). For my first visit, I wanted to try one of Ice Cream Station's unique offerings, so I went with the Southern Slaw Dog which consisted of a Vienna Beef dog covered with coleslaw, BBQ sauce, and a pickle spear. The flavors of the slaw and BBQ sauce complimented each other well, and the pickle spear just added to the feel of something you'd get at someone's backyard BBQ. My only complaint was that the brioche bun was a little stiff. I think I'll stick to the steamed poppy seed buns for future visits. There is plenty of parking, but the outdoor only seating might hinder the business during the hot Florida summer months. Hopefully, they will partner with delivery apps to accommodate customers. Speaking of future visits, I definitely plan on returning to check out their takes on the Maxwell Street Polish and Chicago Fire Dogs as well as their namesake ice cream. The service was great at my visit. While I don't doubt other Yelpers who had issues with their service, I do wish to emphasize that this is their first week open, and the company has been very open about them still working out the kinks, so I think it's a bit unfair to give low rankings to a small business still finding their way. I'm rooting for Ice Cream Station, and I sincerely believe they have the potential to fill the shoes that Chicago Dog & Co. left behind. Give this place a shot, Orlando and Altamonte Springs foodies.

We loved our visit!…read more I think it's perfect for this area. Hot dogs, sandwiches and ice cream, what's not to like?! My kids went bananas over the dessert, the Italian sausage was good, kids loved the hot dogs and the crowd favorite was the chili cheese dog. Everyone was super nice! Lots of seating {all outside} and plenty of parking!

Before my Mom and I went, we checked the closing hours. According to our online search, the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. We weren't far away and confirmed via GPS that we would get there by 9:03pm. As we were arriving, I noticed a worker had started removing the outdoor sidewalk sign back inside the restaurant. I asked the worker if they were closing and was told yes. The owner or manager, I would assume he was, stated we could come in. We drove around the building to a dark parking lot. Once we parked, the owner/manager, who was taking out the trash, questioned where I parked. I had parked behind, probably, his car which was closest to where we had to walk around to the front to enter the restaurant. I told him I quickly parked so we can get in and order. Once we entered the restaurant, we tried ordering. The owner/manager was very inpatient once he realized we were ordering food and not ice cream as he said he thought we wanted. I ordered a Chilli Cheese Dog (no bun). Mom got a Regular Hotdog (with condiments) and Plain Tater Tots. As we waited for our food, at least five people came in for ice cream. Our food was prepared in a reasonable time. We left approximately 9:23pm. Mom was satisfied with her food. My Chilli Cheese Dog was short on the Chilli. There was not a lot of Chilli on the hotdog. I don't plan on returning to this establishment.

Friendly service, consistently great food, and a local favorite that's stood the test of time. If you haven't been, put Kappy's on your list. Highly recommended!

Thankfully, I can always rely on Five Guys offering delicious burgers that are made to order quickly. And an additional bonus for this location is that they have an ordering touch screen for people who simply want to customize their food a little more easily without even having to speak to a human. We definitely took advantage of the fact that you can add as many mix ins as you would like to their milkshakes! I created a coffee / chocolate /oreo mixture that perfectly satisfied my craving! One of the things I've always liked about Five Guys is that the food is cooked to order, so I was looking forward to seeing if it was just as good as I remembered. I ordered a Little Bacon Cheeseburger and a Little Fry. The fries were the highlight of the meal. They were hot, crispy, and cooked just right. I did notice they no longer give the overflowing bag of fries they used to be known for, but honestly, I didn't mind. The portion was still plenty for one person and meant less food going to waste. The burger, unfortunately, didn't live up to my previous experiences. The bacon had a slightly burnt taste. I like crispy bacon, but this seemed like it had been left on the grill a little too long. The bottom bun was also a little hard and didn't taste as fresh as I remember, which took away from the overall sandwich. Five Guys has always been one of the pricier burger chains, especially since everything is ordered à la carte. I've never minded paying a little more because the quality has always made it feel worthwhile. This visit, though, I didn't feel like the food justified the price. I'll probably give Five Guys another try at some point because I've had much better experiences in the past, but this visit just didn't live up to the standard I've come to expect. The inside is more like a Latin gastropub and there's a ton of seating, so it's definitely bigger than it looks from the outside. It does seem that they recently remodeled or renovated the restaurant. We got the fried fish, ceviche, and seafood rice, which came as a big trio platter, and everything was really good. The seafood tasted fresh and the portions were pretty generous. We also got a sangria, and that was probably my favorite part. It was SO good. Definitely one of those sangrias where you're like, "okay, I'll have another one." Honestly, I liked everything we ordered. However, I was told by my partner that I am easily impressed. My only suggestion is to eat it there if you can. I took some home thinking I'd have great leftovers, but the food just wasn't quite the same the next day. Some things are just better fresh, and I think this is one of those places. Overall, really good food, plenty of seating, great drinks, and definitely a place I probably would have overlooked because of the location. Glad we stopped in!
