Be it Sunday, when most salons are respectively closed, I was determined to try and find one due to my dire need and lack of planning. My hands were annihilated by me picking the previous gel polish I had from 4 weeks ago off and my heels could scrub a good greased pan clean - so yeah , emergency. Can I tell you how first of all nice the owners are. They asked me questions about where I was from and how the summer was going. Very pleasant. Second, their sanitation practices are on point. I've been an avid nail salon customer since I was about 16 so 21 years that makes it and I know a good and quality salon when I see it. Not to mention, my hands never looked better and my feet feel so clean. I can feel that my toenails are clean, is that a thing?! Loll anyway - go here please! My nails were filed down so much it started to burn and my cuticles started to bleed. The end result was bubbled thick gel mani. Pedicure was also painful. My nails are destroyed after removing the very thick gel polish. Took several tries to remove the gel polish using a combination of methods such as filing, soaking, and scrapping. They get in deep so if you don't like it too hard just tell them to go lighter in the beginning. They have unique techniques (yes some of them get in the table to really get in there on a better angle) and they do massage the sides of bum which I love because that's a neglected area that holds a lot of tension. Everyone was incredibly nice when I came for a walk-in. It is a busy, large salon and there seem to…read morebe a lot of happy regulars. However, I was assigned someone who seemed to be new. When I asked for a thick (and short) toenail to be filed down, someone else instructed her how to do it. Every time I have had this done, they thin it in a rounded way so nail polish can go on normally. I do it myself at home and it's not a big deal. Instead, she only thinned it in one flat back and forth motion over top so it is oddly shaped and turned out looking like this (I eventually asked her to stop since she was getting so close to the skin). I appreciate how hard and long she worked, but I much prefer the result I do myself at home for $40 + $10 tip. I guess like with anywhere, it depends on who you get assigned.
