I should have switched years ago. At this Pharmacy, the owner knows me by name. He always picks up my calls (or if I hit voicemail he immediately calls me back). He proactively calls me about medication refills. He calls my doctors (and doesn't lie about it like CVS does). Every conversation is filled with "thank you" and "I appreciate your choosing us." My medications are ready hours after my doctor prescribes them. Payam treats his clients like royalty and switching to his pharmacy has decreased my stress levels. The big brand pharmacies don't care about you or your business. I think that when you need medication quickly and safely it's important that someone does care. I'd urge anyone reading this to switch to their local small pharmacy and, if you live or work around Torrance, this pharmacy is a particularly good one!

This happened to be conveniently located nearest where I was at the time. So I came through. found what I needed immediately, went to the self-checkout and scanned my items. And even a nicer surprise: the items I got had an additional discount simply by adding a phone number (being a CVS shopper and all.) TIP: expect a really long receipt if you opt to have it printed. But take a few seconds to look through it - you can avail even more discounts for future purchases. It was a convenient and good first run. On the first trip I needed shoelaces, however there were hardly any shoelaces in stock (and not what I needed). I picked up a couple of other items and waited nearly 25 minutes to pay. On the second trip a couple weeks later I needed a birthday card and a gift card. Figured I'd be in and out within 5 minutes but again had to wait 10+ minutes to pay. There were two cashiers, plus customers paying at the photo counter, but each customer transaction seemed to take forever. And still... no inventory of shoelaces. Next time I need to make a quick purchase I'll choose another store.

Despite multiple notes in my profile stating "Acella NP Thyroid ONLY," the system substitutes different manufacturers without pharmacist review. This creates a significant clinical risk. Thyroid medication is not interchangeable across manufacturers due to differences in potency and inactive ingredients. As a Hashimoto's patient with documented sensitivity, switching manufacturers destabilizes my health. This issue is systemic and exposes patients to inappropriate substitutions. Walgreens must correct its automated dispensing process and ensure that pharmacist verification cannot be bypassed by inventory availability.

In doing research for the refill I found that Chewy Mail Order Pharmacy has excellent prices, and I always get good service and great customer service from them. The EXACT SAME MEDICINE was about $8.00 from Chewy. I called Walgreens, no mistake on their "cash price" for the medicine. No refund, no recourse. Reportedly Costco has good pet med prices as well. What predatory pricing from Walgreens. You can bet I will never set foot in one again.
