Kingsbury Club is far more than just a gym--it's a full-scale athletic and lifestyle destination…read more The facility itself is massive, offering everything from expansive workout areas with modern, top-tier equipment to multiple studios that accommodate a wide range of classes and training styles. It never feels cramped, even at peak times, which is a major advantage. The amenities truly set it apart. The indoor tennis courts are impressive, the basketball courts are full-sized and well maintained, and the swimming facilities--both indoor and outdoor--are extensive and inviting. Add in outdoor pickleball courts, well-kept locker rooms, and relaxing sauna areas, and you start to see how comprehensive the experience is. A standout is Joel at the front desk, who brings a welcoming, professional presence that sets the tone from the moment you walk in. That level of service makes a difference and elevates the overall experience. Overall, Kingsbury Club delivers a well-rounded, high-quality environment that goes well beyond a typical gym--offering something for just about everyone, whether you're there to train, compete, or simply enjoy the space.

I spoke with Chris over the phone in order to register my child, and he told me that the confirmation emails and the email to start the online training portion would be sent directly to my son. I took notes from the phone call: he gave me a date by which I had to cancel, and told me about the pre-participation swim test that had to be passed before participating in the lifeguarding course. Now, the swim test was not just " can you swim a lap in the pool?" No, it was swim 150 yards without touching the sides of the pool with your hands, tread water for 2 minutes without your arms, dive down 7 feet and pick up a brick, return it to the surface, then swim with it 50 yards. So this was not your average swim test, and this info was not communicated in advance. Unfortunately, my son did not pass the test and was unable to participate in the lifeguard course. While he was working trying his best to complete the tasks, he felt like the ADULT IN CHARGE WAS MAKING FUN OF HIM. I don't know if this was Chris or not, but there is no reason that a 15-year-old should be made to feel bad for trying something and not making it. The following day after the swim test, I called the facility and asked for a full refund for the course since my son would not be participating in it, and it was explained to me then that the refund is 50%, because "they can't resell his spot." Now that was unsatisfactory to me because that was not explained in advance, and they claim that that information was sent in an email to my child. This is unacceptable because a 15-year-old cannot be expected to make decisions and judgements regarding a financial commitment that is communicated in an email. I spoke to Chris who was fairly respectful and communicated the policy. He was not able to solve the problem, and I asked to speak with his supervisor. He connected me to Brad. I told Brad the situation, and he proceeded to scoff at me, make fun of my son, question his intelligence, and question my intelligence. It was an extremely negative interaction with no sense of customer service. This whole experience has left a very bad feeling with me. I feel like they stole $200 from me, that they only send the email to the teenager so that they can do this very manipulative practice. Terrible facility.

True Performance Training came as recommendation from a friend, and Filipe Cotas (the owner and…read moretrainer) did not disappoint! I was looking for someone who would work with my 14 year-old brother on the 5x5 program that his school had assigned for the upcoming soccer session. Filipe was fantastic. He modified the program to better fit my brother's soccer needs and was incredibly patient and down-to-earth. My brother worked with him for about 8 weeks (roughly 3x a week)and felt huge difference during tryouts. The facility is brand new and well equipped plus Filipe's pricing is incredibly reasonable. You pay as you go and there is no need to sign up for an annoying gym membership. Here is what my brother has to say about his time with Filipe: Filipe not only helped me to become a stronger person but a more determined one, as his deep knowledge of fitness combined with his welcoming personality and unending patience created an environment of hard work and perseverance. His emphasis on proper form taught me the importance of not only the weight of what I was lifting but the technique I was using to lift that weight. Additionally, Filipe did not judge me but rather encouraged me to keep going when I made mistakes, giving me pointers to do so, all leading me to not only obtaining the strength I needed but the knowledge and work ethic to continue to develop. So in closing, Filipe's knowledge and understanding of fitness not only create a friendly environment to work out in but a mindset centered on hard work and dedication. P.S. - I recommend arriving 5 minutes early for sessions to accommodate yourself before Filipe starts working with you. Also, do not be afraid to speak up if you are not certain about something, at any point during your work out. Finally, push yourself -- no matter how exhausting it may be, Filipe will be right be your side to encourage you the whole way. Quite honestly, just turning into a dump. Makes me wonder if that is why they changed the name, weren't keeping up with Gold's franchise standards? If this were a gym where the monthly fees were say $10-$15 well then you can roll with it, but for the price they charge it's unacceptable. When my membership is up I will be switching to a gym that charges less and is MUCH nicer, the extra 5 min. commute won't bother me for the level of customer service I will be getting

The worst I've seen is you can't use one machine for 1-2 mins. Very good classes/instructors. They have recently added a bunch of the Les Mills classes (Bodycombat, bodypump) The only knock I have is the evening classes start at 6:30. I'd like them earlier or later. I like price is right for what you get. It isn't the low cost option but if you want to take classes it is a great place and a good value. The place is a typical suburban gym a mix of meatheads, highschooler, mothers, retirees, and middle aged parents. No one group dominate the place. You can see yourself when you go here. The one negative is the men's bathroom. While not the worst gym I've seen, it could use more frequent cleanings and more ventilation.

Another yelp review complained that a child cried when an instructor asked a kid to take off her socks- my 3 year old cries and has tantrums all the time. I don't blame other people for them. The reviewer said staff went in the office because they we using their cell phones. How the heck would she know? That's made up. Reviews from crazy people like that just bother me so it inspired give some positive feedback to this location. I have been coming to myGym for 6 months. The staff are kind, enthusiastic, patient, and full of great recommendations to help kiddos improve their gross motor skills, and I truly feel that they have helped my son feel more confident in terms of what he is able to achieve. The gym itself is incredibly clean, organized, and accessible, and each week the activities are different and the structures are in different locations. Classes also include a mix of more structured activities (e.g., an opening circle time) and unstructured play time for younger children which is really helpful in preparing for the transition to preschool. We have made a lot of friends at MyGym and continue to look forward to every class. I can't recommend MyGym highly enough!

A couple of months into my workout - one day, during my workout, the general manager approached me…read moreand offered to cancel my gym membership because I dropped my weights during my deadlifting. Before I signed up, I specifically asked three questions: 1) Whether I can do deadlifts; 2) Whether I can drop weights; and 3) Whether I can use chalk. The staff (a young boy) at the front desk answered affirmatively to all three questions, so I joined the gym. Many Planet Fitness type of commercial gyms have noise rules - that was why I asked. Given the explicit initial verbal consent when I signed up, I was furious and felt not welcomed. I argued with the manager and then left immediately without finishing my workout. I came back a second time to get my refund (and btw they refused to refund my annual fee). Now the young boy who signed me up claimed I only asked whether I could do deadlifts. And he claimed that he had warned me multiple times. These were flat out lies. About two week ago (and a couple of months into my training), he asked me to put mats underneath and I complied. That was the only time that we had a discussion about the noise. I pressed for details about those supposed "warnings" and the boy refused to clarify. I've trained at the gym for four months at different hours. Most of the time I saw only teens at the front desk. The general manager claimed he never saw me before that day's incident - thus I realized that the gym never had proper professional management. If the gym decides to hire underaged staff to help, that's perfectly okay. The problem is - if the teens - who lack the professionalism of adult trained staff - decide to handle matters in a teen's way - customers will have limited resort. The manager pointed out that the gym has rules forbidding weight dropping (and I am not disputing their general rules), but the gym also has rules that people must wear their masks at all times, as well as you must put weights back on the rack. But the rules are never enforced. People wander around, or grunt heavily, a lot of them without masks especially the teens. I have been training for a couple of months and I was under the impression that it was a gym managed in - let's say - a quite libertine way. I told him that this club is among the most dysfunctional in terms of weights arrangements (and I have toured more than a dozen gyms in different areas) - every single time I went there there were always some weights on the bars/machines (sometimes only on one side) and I had to put those weights back by myself. Different categories of weights are often stacked together. Also, having three 45lbs plates only on one end of the barbell hanging on a rack without people attending is actually dangerous. When I pointed out these apparent irregularities, the general manager - rather than acknowledging that things could improve - exploded at me. He shouted that it was not feasible to have staff sleeping on the floor all day to observe gym etiquette and enforcing the rules - and he would not stand me "insulting" his gym. So this is an interesting development. But after reading other comments on Yelp now I perfectly understand that I am not the only customer who got shouted at by the general manager. To sum up - the gym is not professionally managed compared to industry peers. The training environment is passable but not among the top tier. There are a lot of teens who train here and teens have different manners. For the mask conscious people - I've been to gyms that stringently enforce mask rules but this is not one of them. People frequently don't disinfect the equipment despite the explicit rules mandating disinfection. The locker rooms are not dirty but they are a bit beaten down (I have only seen the male lockers). Its pricing point ($45) should warrant a better environment but it is not the case. And the last word I heard from them is - you are no longer a customer, bye-bye. Well indeed. That's just the perfect way to treat your customers, even former ones. Congratulations.
