I decided to invest in myself and I purchased training sessions and while not cheap, it has been worth it. My trainer works to meet me at my level of fitness. He personalizes my workouts so as to challenge me while working with my limitations; he pushes me hard so that I can attain my goals. He is always positive and motivates me to show up and push myself. Being significantly overweight, it can be very difficult to find the courage to step foot in a gym but because I know he is going to be there to support me, I am being consistent and successful with my weight loss effort! Overall, I find the staff to be super friendly and the equipment is diverse, offering many options for variety. The cafe is a bonus, I have grabbed shakes and protein bars after a few workouts. In fact, I asked a question about net carbs one day and the gentleman spent a good 15 minutes looking up some product information for me and explaining some nutrition nuances, something he absolutely did not have to do but he did it patiently. This gym has been an excellent choice for me and a personal investment that I have not regretted.

Very cramped, not clean at all. All machines are jammed together…read more Classes are horrible, no variety. If you're an elderly person, then they might work for you. Not challenging for someone who's used to really sweating during a workout. Also, was such an ordeal to cancel my membership.

Interesting. The building is in renovation, so the creep factor is high. Once you overcome the…read morehorror of the building and walk into the well equipped (but small) studio, you are fine. It's a franchise and each location has its quirks. If you have never done reformer pilates - TAKE YOUR TIME. It can be intimidating. Once I got myself into the studio, it was an interesting experience from there. Expect everyone to be delicately lean and know what they are doing (to a fault) when it comes to pilates. Other skills... well, we all are different. As a latino, I felt odd. As a 12 year zumba instructor, a lot of the mechanics were second nature to me, albeit the instructor for the day tried a "little too hard. Kudos for keeping safety at the forefront. It's not cheap, so if you are looking for price, this isn't the place for you. Given the drive and off of Route 9 (MY NEMESIS), I have some considerations. But I'd like to at least try the 4 pack one on one training sessions to get into the groove and see if this is something I can commit to longer term. As with any other program - work your way into it, unless you are one of the young superfreaks of nature (me, 35 years ago!). Pilates can be a gentle and effective way to strengthen, tone and lengthen, improving posture, balance and overall functional fitness activities (aka life in general). I have mixed feelings but I wasn't totally put off (chime in here F45 Wakeforest, NC area...). It's a logistics thing. If you are mainstream, middle income - you'll find yourself a great place to take your fitness to a new challenged.

Absolutely love the classes and instruction is clear and easy to follow. Only wish it were a larger…read morespace with more reformers. Classes tend to fill up quickly and limited space makes it hard to get in.

I travel for a living and have visited close to 100 boxes globally over the past 5 years. I feel I…read morehave an objective perspective on what makes a CrossFit Box exceptional. I have been traveling to Boston for close to two years, and have visited 8 boxes in the area. I have a choice at what box I attend in Boston, and that choice is CrossFit Synergistics. Here's what I look for in a box listed in priority: 1. Good coaching. Can the coach improve the individual or are they just managing the class? Do they know when to suggest that an athlete scales or increase weight/reps? Do the coaches adjust the program based on individual needs? Do they have years of experience or just a level 1 cert? 2. Programming: A good balance between strength and metabolic conditioning is important. Does it offer specialty classes (i.e., olympic lifting, strongman, nutrition, endurance, etc.)? 3. Coach-class size ratio: Anything over 20:1 will not give you the attention you deserve. 4. Facility/Equipment: Does the box have enough equipment to support a class of 15? Can everyone work in a safe manner without stepping (or dropping weight on your neighbor)? CrossFit Synergistics rates 5 stars across the board! Their coaches have several years of experience coaching CrossFit (not just being a CrossFit athlete). Their programming works for the 60 year old retired teacher and the competitive athlete. The class size is typically 10-15 and they offer classes several hours of the day to fit any work schedule. They make effective use of their current facility and have more equipment than most of the boxes I've been to (15+ rowers, 10+ GHD's, etc.) This box is the best in the area and in my top five globally. With the move to a new facility in a couple weeks, this box will be deserving of 6 stars!

Next month will mark two years since I started at CrossFit Synergistics and I love it! I've tried…read moreout a few other boxes in the past but I've never found one that I feel more comfortable at or enjoy more than this one. CrossFit can be somewhat intimidating at first but the coaches and other members are so encouraging and helpful and really help ease those feelings. I've never really enjoyed any type of workout plan enough to stick with it for more than a few months but CrossFit and this place changes that. I go anywhere from 3-6 times per week and it's always such a good workout - I've made a lot of progress - physically and mentally since I started. I definitely recommend checking it out!
