There's baby bunnies, tortoises, reptiles, little critters, and even birds. Don't forget about a wide assortment of pet toys, treats, food and supplies for every pet need as well. My dogs LOVE that they carry Tall Tail dog toys. Everything is priced just right too! What makes Lou's unique is they offer a lot of fun education and learning opportunities for anyone in the community. Children can volunteer at Lou's to instill a great work ethic at a young age. This also allows your kids to learn about nature and what it takes to own a pet. Stop in today and spend a few hours exploring every inch of Lou's. You won't regret it.

The less ornery ones even wander the shop. I enjoy asking the tortoise questions about aquarium equipment like hes a helpful employee. Just watch out buying aquarium plants, theyre healthy, but you might have some snail stragglers. (Two years later I still find them in my tank and thats on me for not quarantining properly)

One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was trusting this man…read more I meet with the owner, explain everything that I need done and how to do it. I also leave hand written instructions as he requests. Then I leave for vacation and then find out it's not really him who shows up to watch your pet. He has people that work for him. So you have someone you have never met with keys to your house. The owner does not explain this when you sign up, he makes it appear as if he is the one visiting. He brags about all his experience and training, but what does that matter when it's not him taking care of your pet. He was never upfront about this, clearly tries to hide this fact, as you should know who is watching your pet and has access to your home. In my detailed written instructions as well as explained in person, how often I needed my automatic feeders set. I need about 15 feeders set to last 24 hours. Instead his worker just left one dish of food out total, just one. No feeders set at all. The owner said the man didn't know what to do. So why did I write down instructions and have a meeting with the owner in person? I found this out because on my first day away, I turn on my pet video cam and I notice my pet had zero feeders setup. I called the owner at around 10 PM. He didn't answer and then texted back complaining that he does not take calls this late. I explain my pet was not fed all day, he says he will have to come the next morning. He doesn't think a pet getting any food was any reason to rush over and do his job. He also complained that I was "spying on him" even though the camera is right next to the pet dishes, had they used them they would have seen it. It is not hidden, Plus it's my apartment he is working in. Had I not had this camera, he would have gotten away with total neglect of my pet for a full week and who knows if she would have survived. That night I had to have my landlord come over and feed my pet, so she wouldn't go a full day without food. My landlord calls to inform me the pet butler employee did not even lock my front door. I again call the owner to complain and he denies this and accuses my landlord of lying. Never once apologizing for this or any other mistake. My landlord has no reason to lie about such a thing. Yet, he has every reason to try to cover this up. He put all my belongings at risk, locking a door seems a pretty important step to miss when you trust someone with your home. After that call, the owner agreed to take over from this other employee. He says he will come every morning to feed my pet. The third day I check my camera and no visit by 2PM, once again all day and afternoon without my pet being fed. I call the owner and he tells me to calm down, he will be there soon. My pet was not fed all day, even though I explained to him directly my pet has health issues and needs to be fed at specific intervals. He did not care at all, he starts getting very annoyed and talking down to me. He treated me like I was in the wrong but I can't do anything about it as I am 10 hours away. Finally, My pet is not supposed to have treats due to health reasons. I explained to him that I still give her one a day, because it makes her so happy. But I keep them in a rubbermaid container with locking side clamps so she cannot access it. On the day I come home, I find the totally empty treat container, outside of the rubbermaid sitting on the countertop. He clearly had left out the whole treat container unlocked, my cat got to it, ate about 12 ounces worth of treats total. He didn't even bother to tell me what happened. He knew she had health problems and never even cared enough to inform me about the mistake. My vet told me monitor my cat for 48 hours, he knew what happened because the rubbermaid container was locked again, he just chose to not care. If you care about your pets at all, do NOT use this service. Avoid it like the plague. He never once was apologetic, or compassionate, just rude and sarcastic as soon as soon as he got the job. Avoid!

When we pull up, they get super excited and rush to exit our car and see their human and fur friends. My first visit, when I toured, yes it was lots of loud dog barking and I remember feeling a little sad like oh am I taking them to the pound. Okay look the dogs are barking, because of "we the people". I had to think about this. When my own 2 dogs have a new guest here they start "going crazy" frankly lol. And when I walk the neighborhood, dogs that were otherwise chilling, you know what they do as people jog, walk by their turf? Many of them run to the living room window and yap yap. Imagine this multiplied by all doggies together at once getting excited. It can get loud. Ask a parent with multiple small kids or any teacher/daycare provider of little kids.... it's not always prim and proper! But everyone is safe and loved. Same here- enough said! The staff is smart, nice and caring and does their job. The rates afford my little ones to get social interaction. This is not a place that tries to be foo-foo fancy bells and whistles dog castle... extra money... just for some BS to be going once you're gone. They are low frills but DEFINITELY not NO frills as they have huge play area and an indoor pool which I can't wait for my dogs to get lessons in. Do yourself a favor. Become a customer, get in their books with the required documents, get your dog acquainted with a couple visits of daycare so you can feel confident and everything's in order for when the time comes and you need overnight boarding for some travel! Our 2 yo Australian Shepherd, Sedona, is a sweet, affectionate, and smart little lady. But before her boarded training, she could be very skittish around strangers, especially kids, and was absolutely miserable to walk on a leash. When we first got her, we had dreamt of bringing her to restaurants and breweries, but as she got older, she became more nervous and unpredictable: growling, barking, and hiding behind me when we were out in public. We knew this wasn't going down a good road for her, so I did a lot of research and ended up finding ALS. Jim came over and met Sedona, observed her, and came up with a plan. We were very apprehensive about her going away for a couple months, but we knew other people who'd sent their dogs away for 2 weeks with little to show for it in the long run. Our biggest worry was that she would lose her sparkling, goofy, loving, fun personality and become a robot. Jim and Evan reassured us, and we moved forward. Throughout the process, the communication from ALS about Sedona's progress was flawless, and we felt totally comfortable - although we definitely missed our girl! We are now 6 months out from completing her boarded training course, and we couldn't be happier. Sedona is her spunky, happy, affectionate self, but she has much more confidence when meeting new people. Her recall is 100%; I walk her 3 miles every morning off leash, with my stroller and my other dog on a waist leash. She has been confronted by strangers and dogs walking on the sidewalk, dogs barking from yards with (or without) fences, children waiting for the bus eagerly hoping to pet her - and she doesn't flinch. We have had zero issues, and I never worry about her safety or wonder what she will do; I know. When we are on walks, people constantly comment on how amazing she is that she just stays with me. We are so proud of her and are eternally grateful to ALS. The people at ALS are not only dedicated to helping you and your pet have the best quality of life, but they also genuinely love animals, and I feel that that makes all the difference. We give them the highest recommendation and will pursue boarded training with them for all of our future dogs!
