Went to return dog shoes I purchased because they weren't a proper fit. They couldn't refund the money unless I had the credit card I used at the time of purchase and I couldn't remember which one I used. I asked if we can try each one of my 4 cards. They have very knowledgeable staff in the fish department. I wanted to switch my tank from "community" to "semi aggressive" and the workers were able to provide me with all of the appropriate information of what I needed to do to get going. I take my dog to this Petsmart for the day camp and grooming, and occasional overnight boarding. I have had no issues and my dog always seems happy to be there. They do a wonderful job grooming her; she always looks beautiful. I like that she can be in day camp in the morning, groomed in the afternoon, and picked up after work. Once they did mess up my grooming reservation and didn't groom her while she was at daycamp, but they apologized, didn't charge me for that day's day camp and gave me a coupon for free day camp when I brought her back in for grooming. I took my puppy here for training classes and Leslie Keys was an amazing instructor. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to try out obedience classes with their pooch. She was so good that me and my dog came back for a second set of classes, and in a month or so, we will go back for a third. I have also used the day-camp services and found them to be excellent. The staff is always very friendly too - I visit this location at least once per week and have never had a bad experience. I will say that I wish that the store's selection was a little more extensive and they don't always have what I am looking for, but that's ok. I just had my dog groomed there. They took the totally easy way out and just shaved her. They claimed she was too matted to do anything else but I disagree. I had just brushed her 3 days prior. She may have had a few but instead of trying to comb the mats out they just shaved her to the skin. I will never bring my dog back here for anything. I previously took my dog here when she was under 4 months to get her nails clipped. Today I needed an emergency groom, it is the worse cut I have ever seen. I had two back to back terrible grooming experiences and I'm very disappointed because now my dog is traumatized and has wounds all over him. I had made an appointment for a bath for my Siberian husky and was quickly rushed off the phone. I wanted a specific groomer and I still don't know who actually washed my dog the first time. My boyfriend dropped him off on Friday before Memorial Day and he was convinced on a $60 "deodorized dog" bath package, instead of our usual Furminator bath (no one even asked me what bath I wanted over the phone). Well, after picking my dog up from the $60 "deodorized dog" bath, he smelled absolutely dreadful and worse than when we took him in for his bath. Yes, loose fur happens after a bath but it legitimately felt like large clumps were coming off and that he wasn't even brushed. I called Petsmart, spoke to a manager named Ryan, and they offered to fix him the next day which was a Saturday. My dog was TERRIFIED of going with the grooming manager so that was a red flag. He is 8 years old and has been groomed at multiple Petsmart locations in Michigan and Virginia since he was 6 weeks old. After picking him up Saturday from the second bath, he clung to me and was terrified of me leaving his side, also a red flag because that's not normal, especially for an independent husky. I discovered wounds ALL OVER MY DOG'S BODY, very large wounds at that from what appears to be someone taking a brush and physically DRAGGING it on his skin. The last person who touched my dog was the grooming manager. If the manager can be so abusive, I now question all other bathers and groomers. I will never again use this or any other Petsmart facility. The trust has been severely broken. read more

I was very satisfied with the Troy Pet Hotel until this last experience. Prior to this visit, my previous boxer mix was fine, but he has since passed away. With my new 17 month old hound, we had her stay for 6 days. When we picked her up, we realized their prices had gone up substantially. When we got her home, she had severe laryngitis. We called to alert them immediately. No real apology or any sympathy was given. Basically, dogs bark. After a visit to the vet, and 2 prescriptions later, it has been 8 days since she left their care and she still doesn't have her normal bark. The manager told me I should have told them the command to get her to stop barking. I didn't know she would bark so much. They should have called me to alert me she was so nervous being there. Brought my dog today to be groomed and was very unhappy. Staff was not friendly at all. I have to pay before I can pick up my dog and the line was very long. I didn't realize the lady was waiting for me with my dog.I guess she's the supervisor or something.she was very rude and impatient. I would never go back there again. Grooming staff was fantastic! Tracey made me feel comfortable leaving my puppy there to be groomed. She took really good care of her and recommended me getting her nails grounded since Fiona's nails were so long and sharp. They cut my dogs nails too short, he came home & I noticed him "hopping" when he walked so he didn't have to put all of his weight down. They also plucked his ears without asking/notifying me first, a service they have never provided to my dog in the past. I do not agree with plucking & would not have consented. Finally, he came home with a knick on the inside of his back leg. There were about 4 groomers in the salon & one dog being groomed. They stood there doing nothing & waited, clearly seeing that my husband went up to the register to pay the bill yet they would not go get my dog from his cage until my husband returned & produced the receipt. Took my dog in to the groomers, so excited that he's gonna finally get a haircut since I had to wait till all of his shots were done, and he could hardly see through his eyes anymore because how bad his hair was. Mind you he's a 3 pound tiny teacup yorkie. A hour after I dropped him off, I get a call saying he's being to wiggly and they won't be able to complete the haircut and I have to come pick him up. I get there and he had only gotten a bath and the poor dog could not even see through his eyes. Mind you the freakin shower was $23.99!! Paying for something I could have done myself. So upset, and after all of that the manager comes and tells me my TINY dog bit the groomer and I might be expecting somebody from the county to come check out my dog. Like are you serious a 3 lb dog I'm sure is gonna harm someone, and it's his first time getting a hair cut, he's obviously gonna be scared. Maybe if your groomers were acctually trained and should be able to deal with a "wiggling" dog. So upset, definitely will not be coming back and don't recommend to anybody ! read more

This review is actually about the groomers at this Petsmart. I just moved to the area and took my long hair German Shepherd in to be groomed. I knew she had mats on her hind legs and said they could shave them, those had been shaved before at a different PetSmart. They called at one point to discuss shaving her further and I was surprised but after the discussion said ok. Needless to say I showed up to my dog being lion cut and most of her body shaved to the skin. At this point they also asked me if she had been shaved like this before. I said no, and they replied that's good, it should probably grow back in normal then. The main wasn't even even all the way around. Plus she was there for 6 hrs and I was told they had drama that morning, like it should affect my dog. I won't be bringing my dog back to this location again and even though have had great experiences at other PetSmarts may avoid the chain all together now. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for my three dogs at the grooming salon on May 14, 2014 at 12:30pm. I was going to be 5 to 10 min late for my appointment and the right thing to do is call them and let them know. I have never been late for an appointment. I called the store at 12:25pm and they have an automated call system that gets you to the right department. A gentlemen answered and I told him that I would be 10 min late for an appointment. He put me on hold for 5 minutes came back and told me the groomers said I would need to re-schedule the appointment. They allocate 3 hours for my dogs and are usually done in 2 1/2 hours. I asked to speak to a manager, I am hold for 10 minutes and my other line starts ringing.....its Pet Smart. Apparently they didn't want to be on a recorded line as when you call the store it warns you you will be on a recorded line. I told him my situation and after 10 minutes of letting him know how dissatisfied I was because I was going to be 5 to 10 min late he told me now it was even later and i needed to make another appointment. I asked for the corporate number. He then says " if you can get her in the next ten minutes they will take me." When I asked about the first gentlemen I spoke to he said that was the call center I was talking to. They must have dogs barking in the background at the call center. I called the corporate office and put my complaint in. They specifically told me that someone at the executive level will call me back with 3 to 5 days. Through out the week while at work I see a phone number on my caller ID. I did not put two and two together that it was Pet Smart calling me as they did not leave a message. Today May 22nd, 2014 I receive another call from that number and I am at home so I answer the call. It is the store manager. Her poor attitude and questioning everything I said was ridiculous. Even to the point when I told her what corporate told me about someone from the executive team calling. She argued with me telling me they would not say that. What? She also try's telling me the first time I called I was speaking to the call center. Wrong again. Because after my call with her I called three different Pet Smarts and pushed the number for the grooming salon and like magic I was talking to that stores grooming salon not the call center. I finally asked to have someone higher up call me. PET SMART I AM DONE WITH YOU! Quit lying to your customers they are the on's that keep you in business. read more

Place is horrendous...long story short, my dog got fleas there. When I called to let them know, a very worthless woman working there denied it based on stupid reasons. Like "she's not sure if the dogs that stay there are required to have flea/tick preventative." What do you mean you're not sure? If they aren't required, then there's a possibility that my dog got fleas there. If it is required then he would have had to get them somewhere else. I'm not the ignorant one here. Her inability to understand reason was mind boggling to me, especially when my dog has never had fleas before and doesn't stay outside or anything different than he's ever done before, but one stay there and he gets fleas. Do the math. He also came out of there like a bat out of hell. Got home, drank three consecutive bowls of water, frantically paced around then threw up. Seems like he had a real relaxing time there. Great peace of mind that my dog was taken care of like their own. Complete joke. read more
