First and last time shopping at this location due to THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A PETSMART. The employees who worked the late shift on 1/27/26 need some serious training in customer service. To start, I was standing in front of the cashier for a good long 2 minutes before she finally looked up from folding a tiny piece of paper and acknowledged me by saying, "Oh! Don't mind me. I'm just sitting here doing origami." Okay....Some of us have places to be. After ringing up my items, one of which is a prescription dog food that my dog has been on for 8 years, I presented the "BANFIELD" card that I was forced to get on a previous date at another location. Apparently it was "expired". The biggest problem I have with that is, they took my original prescription from the vet, which had a certain # of refills on it, and changed it to just a small length of time. The lady said, "Yeah, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I'll take that back." And took the dog food back out of my basket. They showed no compassion or empathy when they told me they were not going to be selling me the food that my dog desperately needs. After walking out empty handed and confused, I called the store. STEPHANIE answered and I asked if she was one of the employees I had just talked to. I asked what her co-workers name was (the cashier). She said "oh I'm not allowed to give the names of employees who work here." I said, "okay well I can just easily walk back inside and look at her name tag...." SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I wasn't done. I called back. When the line rings it says, "WE'LL DO ANYTHING FOR PETS." Yeah right, What a joke. They really need to change that because it's clearly a lie. Stephanie answers the phone again. I told her I had a question about how to go about getting a new unexpired card from BANFIELD. I finally got my question answered and then told her, "I really don't appreciate being hung up on, and you should definitely work on your customer service skills." I honestly can't believe the audacity of the 2 female employees that were working there tonight. PETSMART in Tomball: Do better!!! The whole ordeal and her taking things out of my cart ended with me leaving without other essential items I came there for. WHAT A JOKE. read more

My dog, was dropped off on saturday morning 6/13/2026, freshly bathed and groomed, she was to stay at the hotel for one night and we would pick her up sunday afternoon at 5. We picked her up 2 hours early at 3:10pm and when they brought her out she was covered in faeces and urine. She is a white dog who is trained to go outside to do her business and never has she come back inside the house so dirty. Her legs were yellow, her paws which are naturally pink had a yellow and green haze to them. She had clumps of stool on the side of her as if she had been lying in waste the whole night. Aside from her appearance, her behaviour was not at all like her usual, she came out crying and barely wanted to approach her family. My dog is very energetic, she's not even a year old yet, so to see her so down and low in energy was anything but normal for her. We were told that because she was so energetic during play time they would have to put her in time out for 10-15 minutes a multitude of times. We understand that boundaries have to be placed and bad behaviour has consequences but our dog did NOT come out the same dog we brought in on Saturday. On the car ride back home from the hotel she would cry in her sleep and could barely stay awake, again this is very unlike our pup. She did not show ANY affection and would suddenly become extremely anxious and afraid whenever she was done doing her business, if anyone approached her she would run under a table and shake in fear. We know our puppy better than anyone else and to suddenly see her so down in the dumps over the span of one night was extremely concerning. The staff when questioned on her appearance, stench, and behaviour, said that they apologized and just didn't notice. This can't help but seem incredibly irresponsible because again we turned her in freshly bathed and groomed. Again a "well sorry we didn't notice" with attitude doesn't help at all!! read more

I absolutely love the groomers at this location. It's hard finding a good groomer that will take care of your fur baby the way that you do. They've cut my Peachie Pie's hair numerous times. The staff is always sweet, patient, & professional. They really go the extra mile for pet parents & our fur babies. I highly recommend them! read more

Nice people, but not a lot for cats.. My adopted kitten requires a Royal Canin Veternary Prescription Catfood for my girl who is allergic to common proteins and needed a novel protein and while they have the wet food in cans, it is often less or out of the kind I need, but only once has the dry been available. When I did find it the one time and the young man assisting me was searching online and saw it for $10 less than in store and cans .3 less online they honored those prices. Tonight, we went for canned foods and it was buy 12, get 2 free and at $2.99 a can, that was pretty nice. Having to give a Prescription card each time is a nuisance as I can't understand why anybody would buy a food that was as expensive as it is when there are excellent foods for so much less. I am not a vet, however, so that question will remain unanswered until I ask the Internist. read more

We came here with our puppy English Bulldog. It's our first pet ever so we are very new to all of this. The same night we got him we came here. The cashier was extremely helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Two weeks later we came to bring him for his first grooming appointment. We dropped him off and picked him up right away since it was considered an express visit. We noticed that his nails were not trimmed, he didn't smell or even look clean. I received an email for a survey and expressed my concerns. Following the survey they reached out to fix the issue. I gave them another try and I noticed the difference. Yesterday we took him again and we had Mackenzie as the groomer this time and from the start of the visit til the time of pick up I must say she was AMAZING. She definitely changed our mind on using them for our routine grooming service. Reason why I wouldn't give them a 5 star is, some of their employees that I come across in the aisle aren't too helpful or friendly at all. Also, that first experience with the grooming wasn't good at all. They made it up by redoing the service though and I really appreciate it. Besides that they are pretty awesome! read more

The absolute worst place. My dog had an appointment for 9 am. i called around 1130 to check his status. I was told 30 minute left. when we came to pick him up, they tried to give us the wrong dog. Stephanie is absolutely terrible. When i called she thought she was grooming my dog instead she had another dog. Manager Lillian kept stating that Stephanie made a human mistake. I can understand a human mistake once but not twice- trying to hand off the wrong dog. Lilian's excuse was that Stephanie had to answer phone calls in between. If she cannot multitask, why would you take your dog there to groom. read more

I got a grooming appt for my adopted toy poodle that's blind and deaf at tomball tx petsmart I had a appt at 5 pm on Sat 26 of Feb I dropped her off at 5there were two standard poodles on the tables I wanted her to get her ears done and her paws done .i came back at 730 pm and the labs were just leaving and she was still in the cage she can't stay in the cage because because she can't hear or see they were told that twice ater she was said to be done I went in they said she wouldnt let them do her toes more than likely because she had been in the cage and stressed out and it was 8pm and she was ready to go and hungry I didnt look at her good till in the car they didn't do her ears that was the 1st I needed don't she's a toy poodle and if the hair in her ears aren't removed they will geta ear infection I counldnt go back in because they closed. down for the night wen I got home her hair on the side of her nose wasn't clipped like the other side I got so mad because they didn't even look at her before they let me have her I paid 54.00 for 10 mis of clipping her .and giving her a bath the mgr wen I called th morning was talking over me complaining about missing 6days they had to shut down and try were just trying to get all the hair cuts in .if I had known that they were over booking to get everyone in asap I would have taken her somewhere else read more

I took my dog Bentley there to the grooming salon to get her nails clipped, ears cleaned and anal glands extracted. Bentley can be cranky, so I always asked for him to be muzzled. The young ladies would not place a muzzle on him. I thought this was going to be a huge waste of time, because he really does not like anyone poking around at him. To my surprise they were able to do everything, all without him wearing a muzzle. I was very impressed! Ironically this is the same location that he attended puppy school over 11 years ago. Maybe he just felt he was back home! Never the less, Steffie, Ashley and Katie were wonderful and they gained a permanent customer. Kudos to these three young ladies for how they were able to handle Mr. Bentley, my senior Dachshund. We'll definitely be back and hope we'll be lucky enough to get those three young ladies again! read more

The ladies in the grooming department are the absolute best. I've been to plenty of groomers in different cities I've lived in in Texas, but Tomball has the most loving, joyous staff. They care and they are happy when speaking to you. My dog came in (after I already cleaned him) after getting sprayed by a skunk and they helped tremendously. Wish all Petsmarts updated their systems like ones in Austin that can ask/accept tips when paying with card. read more

New store Employees here {with the exception of managers} act as if it's just a job and have no idea what's going on, what's stocked on the shelves, what time of day it is.... The store had been open nearly two months and still had most of the bird/small mammal/reptile displays awaiting the animals for sale. That struck me as odd. The water in the fish tanks is rarely not cloudy and there are usually countable numbers of dead ones to be seen. I only frequent this store now if I have other reasons to be in Tomball. read more

After 3 phone calls to check-in and a 49 minute wait someone came out without my order and said he would go back in to find it. 10 more minutes--finally I have my order. If I could give a negative star I would. I made appointments to have my senior dogs bathed and groomed. My golden retriever has a difficult time on her hind legs especially on slippery floors. They refused to groom her because she had a hot spot that is being treated and she was having a difficult time standing and walking on their floors. They are all about the money and volume instead of taking their time with our fur babies. Shame on you Petsmart!! Actually it is a blessing in disguise because I found a local groomer who welcomed us with open arms and is giving them a spa day like no other! I found my new place to go for customer service for both my dogs and me. If looking for a groomer, I recommend you give them a large pass. read more

This review is over the grooming department I took my mixbreed pup to get her deshedded a $65 package they were courteous when I was dropping her off and got back to me pretty quickly but the problem is that my dog didn't get groomed she had just as much loose fur on her as she did before I dropped her off I brought it up to the cashier when I realized she was still a mess I took her back and they tried to give me a run around about her being cleaned until I started getting handfuls of fur of my dog they took her back and started brushing her infront of me the piles of fur that were coming off was ridiculous for a dog that had just been groomed supposedly I urge anyone that takes their pups to get groomed to take a second and double check their work and make sure you're getting what you paid for read more

I ran into petsmart to get new gravel for my fish tank, I asked an employee if there was a water conditioner I needed and she goes "yeah they're on the next isle" and she proceeded to role her eyes at me. I recently adopted a rescue dog who seems to have had a troubling past. I knew training would benefit him, so I scheduled a private session with Jessica. She has been fantastic! She understands him so well, and he is responding terrifically to her sessions. Not only did my husband and I rescue this sweet guy, but Jessica helped us to rehabilitate him. Worst customer experience in a long time . Went in to find a new collar for my dog . Very disappointed in the selection so much I even looked at cat collars . Finally settling for a Martha Stewart's collection green and blue stripped that matched the leash and harness we had previously purchased from a different location. All items in this area were marked for clearance . From what I could tell the smaller ones were $10.90 and larger were $12.99 . Surprise it rang for 12.99 when I complained the manager said it was my job as a customer to read the small numbers to make sure the item is on the correct rack , not his employees job to straighten and sort items on the racks. He is past middle age with dark hair and some kind of "man-bun ". I have worked retail for 20+ years if your price is wrong you eat it and fix the problem , not tell the customer how they are not doing their job. read more

BEWARE taking your baby to get groomed here! I've been coming here for about 2 years and I'm not sure what changed about 4 months ago. Service and cleanliness has gone downhill big time. There are a couple groomers who look for any opportunity to sneak additional fees to your bill, pay attention and look at your bill before you pay. Grooming is poor, I have to fix spots that they missed when my baby gets home. Now for my big issue, cleanliness has gone way down. For this reason I will NEVER go back to this location. Took my dog in to get her normal bath and hair cut and and then within 24 hours my dog was profusely vomiting to the point I had to rush her to the emergency vet. After multiple vet visits, $600 of tests and medicines we were able to get her stabilized after a week. My dog is a very healthy girl and in 7 years only has had a couple minor sicknesses until this. Not sure what she picked up from there but it was a terrifying experience for my fur baby, husband and I. Stay away from this location if you value the healthy of your fur baby. read more

Bought a baby ball python and was told it was checked for mites and health guaranteed. Got home and saw that it did indeed have mites. Brought it back and traded it for a baby bearded dragon. We got everything we were told to buy and did a lot of research online for care of baby dragons. The beardie died within 3 weeks and they only have a 14 day return policy. I won't ever buy any pets from petsmart or petco due to this and I feel bad for the pets that are there and not properly cared for or checked for health issues. read more

The groomers here always do an excellent job on my three collies! The staff is always nice and courteous to us.

I took my dog for a bath $21.99 and after picking her up 2.5 hours later, she looked and smelled the same! Her face had stiff and clumped hair with all of her eye gunk still there. Mgmt refunded the $$, but no one can get back the wait time and the dog still needs a bath. Her "report card" was filled out just as if they had done the work. At my usual Petsmart the baths leave the dog smelling all fresh and all of her hair is clean/shiny. Avoid this one. read more

I took my almost 6 year old Yorkie in for her regular grooming a few days ago. We arrived at 1:15 for a 1:30 appointment. At 3:18, I received a call that the groomer found her in her cage with a purple tongue and having trouble breathing. They took her to the Banfield clinic where they gave her oxygen. After 20 minutes or so at Banfield, they called and indicated she was still having trouble breathing and asked us to rush her to an emergency vet 20 miles away. We arrived at the emergency vet and though they tried everything they could, Penny died. The store manager called that evening and offered her condolences indicating the groomers had bathed her at 2pm and placed her back in her cage where they found her unresponsive over an hour later. She also wanted a necropsy done, which I agreed to allow the next day. The necropsy results came back and indicated she had moderate kidney disease with some lung inflammation. The store used this diagnosis to wash their hands of the incident saying that she died of kidney disease. She was her normal active self, playing and eating normally prior to her grooming visit. The emergency vet where the necropsy was performed indicated the above were the underlying chronic cause of her death, but there was an acute stress while she was waiting to be groomed that caused her to pant excessively. She was unable to breathe and went into respiratory distress, which led to respiratory failure and ultimately heart failure. When the results were provided to the store, the store manager called back and left a voice message saying if I had any questions to just call the Banfield and while they were sorry, there was nothing they could have done to prevent Penny's death. I'm posting this to warn other pet owners who have pets that become stressed in a caged environment so they don't end up with a similar outcome. read more

BEWARE! My beautiful husky was completely shaved. I requested his undercoat to be raked and a trim, even carefully selecting the length and discussing my desire at length. I got a shaved, traumatized dog back with several patches going down to the skin and many more terribly uneven. And they had the nerve to try to blame my dog for being wiggly. He knew they were destroying him. I am only giving one star because I can't give less. ABSOLUTELY don't go here. read more
