We have a French bulldog and unfortunately can't book grooming online for his breed, so calling to schedule can be a bit frustrating. Since this location accepts walk-ins, that's usually what we do. Several times now I've come in with my pup (plus my baby who's under a year old) and was told the wait would only be a few minutes. The other time I ended up waiting almost an hour, and today I was told "a couple minutes" again but it's already been about 30 minutes with no update from anyone. A quick check-in would really go a long way. We come here because it's convenient and close to home, and we used to really enjoy bringing him. We've actually been getting nail trims here for years. Prices definitely aren't cheap and seem to keep going up, while the customer service unfortunately feels like it's slipping. I'm hoping communication and service improve because the convenience keeps us coming back, but a better customer experience would make a big difference. read more

We've been using PetSmart grooming for about 6 1/2 years, but this was our first time at the South Tampa location and it was very disappointing. I paid for a full haircut, and my Shih Tzu was shaved down extremely short, he barely looks like himself and honestly looks like a Chihuahua now and there was even a random long piece of hair left. I'm especially upset about an additional $40 charge for "dematting" that they said took an hour, which doesn't make sense if the coat was shaved down and no length was even kept. I also wasn't clearly informed of any additional cost associated before being asked to sign a form. The only resolution offered was a $10 coupon, which didn't feel appropriate given the situation. It definitely wasn't what we're used to after years with PetSmart. This felt like a rip-off for $40. read more

Decent place to get your dog groomed. There are quite a few places in the greater South Tampa area where you can get your dog groomed. However, there are places where there's no easy price transparency. Most local places do not offer online booking. Some are no longer accepting new larger doodles as clients. Many are classified as groomers but are really only bathers. While I generally prefer going to small businesses for services, I found it frustrating finding someone to groom my doodle puppy. PetSmart, being a big, national business, had online pricing and scheduling, and they were taking new doodles. I brought in my four month old, rambunctious pup in for his first trim. Everyone in the grooming room was very friendly, and they all fell in love with my (admittedly adorable) pup. I was told to give them 3-4 hours for the puppy trim, but I received a call after 2.75 hours that he was ready. Puppy had been washed, dried, brushed out (he has never been so fluffy!), and his nails were trimmed, and he received a facial and sanitary trim. He was a very handsome pup! Prices are not really a bargain, but given the amount of time they spent with my dog, they are reasonable. I may try out a couple of local businesses, but it's nice to know that in a pinch, PetSmart is a reasonable and easy place to get my dog trimmed and/or groomed. read more

As one who has 3 beloved cats, this is a great store to find almost everything for my babies. Pet smart has many different brands for dry and wet food for different house hold animals, toys and more. To my surprise, although my city is currently under mandatory orders to wear masks in public, few customers had no problem walking around without mask. There wasn't any sign at the entrance (like most stores these days) requesting customers to wear a mask. When I brought it up to the cashier she said she does not say anything... also there was an empty sanitizers at the store. For what? I must admit, this is really disappointing. read more

We moved into a new place, and needed new beds for the dogs. Also trying to walk one and carry another that is old, blind, and deaf is a little hard. So I bought a bag to carry the little one. She seems to really enjoy it and falls asleep most the time. This has worked great for me. The lady was really helpful with helping me find what I needed. She also reassured me that if my little one didn't adjust to the carrying bag then I could bring it back. The employees are always real helpful when I need assistance finding things. read more

Don't come here for grooming. Worst experience I've ever had. I had a 12:00PM appointment and got a phone call around 10:30AM saying I could come in early. I dropped my dog off around 11:15 and was told it would take about an hour so I waited in my car because driving home wouldn't make sense. I walked in at 12:30 and asked about my dog and they said "she's just getting started it will be about an hour give or take". I said I got a call to come early and the only excuse was that it got busy in the last hour. So now I'm sitting in my truck and my anxious dog is sitting in a crate and on a grooming table for almost 2.5 hours waiting around. Why have me come in almost an hour and a half early to not even get started until 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time? Definitely will not be coming back. read more

This PetSmart location has consistently been great in regards to products offered, cleanliness, and customer service. Nestled in the first floor of the popular Walter's Crossing shopping center with parking in the garage, this location gets its fair share of foot traffic. Parking can be somewhat difficult but I find that if you go early in the morning upon opening it isn't bad. PetSmart has sales and coupons available periodically and it behooves the pet owner to sign up for the PetPerks rewards card to optimize your thrifty experience. The location boats a Banfield Pet Hospital and a grooming salon. I have not personally brought my pet to Banfield but I have brought a friends pet, as that is the hospital she has selected for her dog. During our visit, the staff was personable and showed genuine care for the dog. It is unfortunate that there is not an individual page for the Grooming salon at this PetSmart. I fully endorse the Grooming salon and have experienced nothing but outstanding service there despite my dog's apprehensiveness to be groomed. Cindy, in particular, is quite caring, professional, and friendly. The staff has always been accommodating to me and mindful of my pet's individual needs. The groomers know how to handle the dogs that they groom and, from what I can tell, take pride in their work. Sophia never looks better than after I take her for a fresh cut at PetSmart. It's nice to have this pet superstore in my neck of the woods and I enjoy patronizing it. Thanks, PetSmart, and I apologize Sophia tries to lash out at nearly every dog she sees there. :-P read more

Absolutely ZERO stars. The WORST business I have ever dealt with. Have given them multiple opportunities to do better and every time it gets worse than before. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. They wait for you to show up then tell you they're overbooked for the day and you'll have to come back another day for 15% off WHEN YOU'RE ALREADY THERE, or they call you at 9 pm on the night before your appointment to cancel and "rebook it" but then when you show up for your "appointment" they say it doesn't exist, or they tell you it'll take 2 hours then they keep your dog for 4 hours. Management does nothing to make up for any of these inconvenience's either. Terrible customer service. read more

This review is for the the PetSmart dog trainer, Katie. She's so awesome, funny, positive, patient and helpful. She gives you confidence and tools that can help you train your unruly dog. In November, we adopted a 19 month old basset hound who jumps on people, is super hyper, chews everything, counter and table surfs, on people, pulls on the leash, nips if tired, and has separation anxiety. All of these issues vastly improved with our weekly training class and practicing nightly at home. We still have to work with her, but we're so pleased with her progress. I plan to sign her up for an intermediate class as well. read more

I brought my dog in for an appointment. I was 5 minutes late. Couldn't leave my dog because groomer was on break. Had a lunch appointment and had to take my dog. Even more than this, my dog was just groomed 6 weeks ago here and her toe nails were so long they overlapped and she couldn't walk in last week. She can go 4 months if nails are clipped. This PetSmart is UNPROFESSIONAL & stinks!! I bought two guinea pigs two days ago and they missed their sister so I called the place at 3:30 to ask them to hold it for me and they tell me they cant reserve it. Okay so then i call them at 7 when im leaving work to go pick it up if its still in its cage. (Which it is) So can the manager watch it for me? Nope. When i get there at 7:15 there's a lady staring at it and when I tell them I came to pick up the Multi-colored Guinea Pig the lady says NO its hers. The manager then comes up and says yes the Guinea pig is hers without regards for the fact i had been calling all day about the Guinea pig because I want to reunite it with its Family who misses it. Even after my friend asked "what would jesus do" they still gave the guinea pig to a woman whos only good reason for getting it was "I want it, i got here first" Even after knowing I called HOURS before to come pickup the Guinea Pig... The store is basically the same as any other, but their grooming department is much better. Nicole is amazing with my nervous, timid dog. She takes the time to make my dog feel comfortable. She comes out from behind the desk to greet her and talk to me. She also is very detail oriented. I've never noticed anything missed when Nicole grooms. We had an appointment to have our do groomed at 930 am. It usually takes a few hours. When I hadn't heard back by 1 I called. I was told that she was "still drying" from a bath and it would take another 1.5 hours because she had not even had her hair cut yet. They essentially kept her in a cage for 4 hours and then wanted more time. This is totally unacceptable and inhumane. read more

This will have been my third time having a grooming appointment for my pug. The first two times no issues. However, today I went and it took 2 1/2 hours to give my 20 pound pug a BATH. No trimming of the fur or anything like that. I went by at about 2 hours thinking they had forgotten to call me and I saw my groomer working on another dog! When I asked if my dog was ready she said it would be another 20 minutes. Meanwhile he's just in the back waiting while my groomer works on another dog. Never again! I originally came here only with the intention to buying some dog food in bulk, which they did have at a good price, but browsing around was fun because I couldnt help but look at the birds and other stuff they have for sale here. Employees were more than attentive and the store doesnt have that bad animal smell that many pet stores are notorious for. PetSmart is on top of their game it appears. You will find food, collars, leashes, fish tank decoration, and all sorts of pet related stuff here. Parking was convenient but a kind of crowded. Visiting this place was kind of like visiting a super mini zoo. Would recommend as a pet store for anyone who lives nearby, and the prices seemed reasonable on the thigs I did see. read more

They used to be pretty good but the last few times I took my Mastiff in for a full groom they did not do what I paid for. I paid extra for her teeth to be brushed and upgraded shampoo and conditioner and it wasn't done. She was also very damp when I got her back. They called me 6 weeks later to schedule another grooming and I blasted the girl and said not to call me again. They lost 5 customers due to laziness. read more

I visit PetSmart on occasion, when in search of pet supplies and if they have good sales. I usually buy Wellness pet food and they always have this in stock. Service is usually friendly. And there is a good variety of pet supplies for all your pet needs. I typically buy Wellness however my babies also like Natural Balance sometimes and I did not find any Natural Balance in stock however you can order it online. You can bring your pets in! Beware though, this store is always hot inside and feels more like a warehouse! read more

The groomers did a good job with shaving my dog, but the staff don't seem very friendly at all.They made me nervous to leave my dog there. Like, they look unhappy and angry and they kept giving me strange looks and they don't greet me when I walk in. Even when I smile and say HI they don't respond. They just look kinda mad that I even walked in. And when I picked my dog up, I noticed he isn't normal. He hasn't eaten, he sleeps and hides all the time. Like, he isn't happy and I am really afraid. The selection at this store is great and it's never too busy. The cashiers are always friendly and helpful. The staff seem to know what they're doing and do not push products on you. They also keep this place very clean. I have witnessed a few untrained owners who's pets have had accidents here (poor staff..), but it is always cleaned up in seconds. The reason this is my favorite is because of their range of aquarium products. It is hard to find a large range of decor and substrate for different sized tanks, but this store has it all. Definitely recommend to all pet lovers! They unfortunately do not carry the brand of food I buy for my pets (Science Diet), so I order that from else where. But everything else is great. We adopted our kitten from here and they always have cats and kittens up for adoption! read more

The store itself is great, staff greeted me at the door and were super helpful. However the grooming staff were very unprofessional and seemed irritated to even be working there. I was not greeted and stood at the counter for about two minutes before anyone said anything. The staff was talking and complaining to each other. I took my bichon poodle to get groomed at this location. She received a wash, cut, teeth cleaning, nail trim and a very berry facial. When I picked Luna(my pup) up the groomer, Vanessa, told me she was squinting because she was sensitive to the light. She then changed her mind and said it was due to eye boogers. We noticed Luna could barely open her left eye and was in serious discomfort so we proceeded to take her to the Banfield right next to the groomer where they ran tests and said she had a scratched cornea. The groomer told me "it's not my fault I did my job it's not my fault you don't take care of your pet." Management was very rude to us as well. The only positive person (besides the vet) in this experience was the customer service representative who was very nice. The groomers and managers were EXTREMELY rude and kept us waiting for a long time. I do not recommend taking your pet to be groomed here! read more

I dont think I WANT TO GO BACK for the way the others associate and the male manager treat us they look at us like we are reptilians and ignore me and my kids the only lady who greeting us and ask us what she can help us was Jocelyn there. They others employees dont have nothing as a customer service including the male manager there.
