We LOVE PNR Lemon! No team like them for my baby girl. Can never leave Tampa because Lucy's second family is now here! Fur-ever grateful for them

I am giving 5 stars with a caveat. Currently, you can not your or enter the facility due to the pandemic. I understand this and will amend after I can tour ( I all positive I won't have too, though) Have a furry bff? Take them hear! I realize when you look at the pricing it looks exorbitant, it isn't. To get started, head to the website. They not only do day care they are also, a hotel. Yup, your bestie can have a staycation, too!! You will need to send in copies of shot records, etc. They want all their guests to be healthy and happy!! Want proof of all the joy and happiness? Head over to their Facebook or Instagram! After all your documentation and what not, your bestie is brought in for a test play date. They want to make sure everyone can play nice and there aren't any crocodile tears! Now, while your baby is there and your anxiously biting your nails, check out their Instagram and their your pooch id, gloriously happy and playing with all their new frens without you. Hold the sob, they are happy!! Pick up is around the side, similar to drop off. It's easy and while there does tend to be a line around 5ish, your furry baby will be joyously ecstatic to see you and gloriously tired. (Except my baby, she was all full of the energy). Don't forget to check for their report card!!

Josie's big smile at daycare

Paws N Rec is the best thing that's ever happened to me and my pup, Josie. She absolutely loves going to daycare each day and seems to have so many friends. The staff are beyond caring and get so excited to see Josie each morning. I absolutely love getting to see Josie posted on their Instagram page every once in a while and getting a peek into all of the fun she's having. You can just see the smile on her face! Thanks for taking such great care of my baby and I, Paws N Rec!

This place is amazing! My pup had so much fun. From the behavioral assessment to his first overnight stay, my dog was well accommodated and the staff was very reassuring and kind. He didn't want to leave! I also like how open their boarding process is (unless they just aren't busy right now - he stayed at the Pearl location) but it seems as if they are available for boarding 95% of the time which is perfect for last minute trips. They also make sure to post tons of pictures via Instagram and Facebook for you to check on your pup. Thank you for taking care of my baby!

As the most anxious dog owner ever, I have never found a place that gives me as much comfort as Paws n Rec on Lemon St. Each and every time I call to check on my dog while he is away they are so kind and give me a very detailed report on how he is doing. I have also utilized their spa services and have always been so pleased with the outcome. Currently moving out of state and pray I can find something that even comes close to Paws and Rec!!

Don't do a full body hair cut under any circumstances, just a sanitary trim around the paws, ears and eyes. When I picked up my dog, they had shaved her underside, given her a full body cut and chopped off all her whiskers. If that were the only issue then I would walk away from this knowing that the groomers simply just don't know how to listen to what pet owners want. That was the least of my concerns. My dog has gone to the groomer every 4-6 weeks since she was adopted (that's 2 years of regular grooming and vet visits) and has never had any issues. This was my first visit to this groomer and they ripped off her entire toe nail. I had to take my dog to the vet and spend hundred of dollars on antibiotics and treatment for her toe, and she's now in a cone. When this occurred, rather than calling me or informing me as soon as I arrived, they charged me and flipped the screen around for a tip and took 10 minutes to bring out my dog and then told me what happened. They accused my dog of having a loose toe nail to begin with. No apology, no offer for anything, not even any acknowledgment that it could have been a result of their grooming practices. I guess in some scenario that could be possible. However, my dogs entire toe was covered in blood and a weird substance they used to stop the bleeding (didn't tell me what it was or what was in it or ask before applying it), so I'm not buying the "your dogs toe nail just fell off story." It seems like your staff was trying to absolve responsibility from themselves. Unfortunately, this groomer doesn't even do the due diligence of having clients sign a form acknowledging the potential of accidents like any other establishment I have been to that's worth anything, so I do in fact hold you fully responsible. I also asked my vet to describe a scenario in which a dog's nail would come off in its absolute entirety during grooming because I have never heard of that happening and was horrified. My vet said he had never heard of a dog's nail "just being loose and falling off." My vet said this would only occur if a dog was moving around and the groomer tried to force the service rather than stopping. That checks out to me, as one of the first things I said about my dog when I dropped her off is that she can be wiggly with her feet at first if she isn't able to inspect the tools that groomer is using and to just do the best you could. If she was too wiggly to have her nails safely cut, they should not have been touched. In that scenario, it is the groomer's responsibility to say they cannot safely do something at the moment and stop. I would rather my dog have overgrown nails any day than an entire missing one that will take months and months to grow back and requires soaking in antiseptics and antibiotics to avoid infection. I can trim nails at home. I cannot manufacture a new toe nail from the air. However, the staff insisted at the front that they had nothing to do with the accident and it must have been an issue with her whole nail to begin with. Perhaps the negligent staff here thinks they know more than a veterinarian. Perhaps they're delusional and genuinely believe it wasn't their fault. Perhaps they're just cruel to animals for people's money and then move on with their day. That's their business, not mine. But to the dog owners thinking of taking your dog here: Do not. Under any circumstances. They are irresponsible and they will hurt your pet and they will not own up to it.

Puppy Manor - This is NOT okay. This toxic material does NOT belong on the inside of the crates.

A Cautionary Experience - Please Visit Before You Commit…read more ["Dog recovering after eating toxic material at boarding facility" In the news, January 2025. See image in post for link] I rarely leave critical reviews, but as a devoted pet parent, I feel a responsibility to share my experience at Puppy Manor in hopes it helps others make an informed decision. While I was initially drawn in by the promise of open land and splash pads, what I observed in reality was quite different. Yes, there is a splash pad--but I also saw multiple dogs standing on a large, dry asphalt area as the afternoon heat began rising. I expressed concern and was reassured the staff wets the ground as it gets hotter. Still, it was concerning, especially in Florida's climate. There's also a significant grassy area where dogs play, which sounds ideal--until you're pulling burrs, burdock seeds, and foxtails out of your dog's fur every day. While I want my dog to have fun like anyone else's, I also believe daycare should be both safe and reasonably maintained. There was no sign that the dogs' time in muddy, debris-filled fields was limited, nor any clear effort to improve the space. Despite being told the facility was "under renovation," I saw little evidence of actual improvements. The outdoor drop-off and pickup has a very industrial and dated look to it. On one visit, I waited with another dog owner for nearly five minutes or longer--no one was at the front, and no one responded to us. We knocked on doors with no luck. Only after the other owner called the facility's phone number did a staff member (Vince) appear and tell us she (he) had been making dinner. Meanwhile, we knew the dogs were crated and ready to go--there is simply no excuse for no one being available to release pets to their owners. That experience alone left a lasting impression. The staff dynamic is inconsistent. Brianna, while sweet, often seemed distracted and disconnected in conversation. Vince, on the other hand, was kind, helpful, and clearly loves the animals in her care. I truly appreciated the adorable photos she sent me--it made me feel, at least for a moment, that my pup was happy and being looked after. The pictures were so cute. But even with those thoughtful touches, my gut just didn't feel right the longer I continued bringing my dog there. I never felt fully at ease leaving my dog here, and to me, that says everything. It reminded me of the uneasy feeling you get when leaving your child somewhere you're not fully confident in. I've taken my dog to several daycares across Tampa Bay and beyond--this one gave me the least peace of mind. Before enrolling, I strongly recommend stopping by unannounced, outside of the 1:00-3:00 PM "nap time." Ask yourself: are the dogs lounging calmly in the advertised "acres of land" with attentive staff, or is a single person sitting in a chair watching over ten or more dogs? My observations leaned heavily toward the latter. Also, be sure to ask detailed questions about pricing. While Puppy Manor does not offer grooming services, they charge $30 for a very basic bath--no brushing or extras. Even with that option, I still found myself bathing my dog almost every day because of how dirty she came home. Their prices are not significantly lower than other, far better-kept facilities. I even reinjured my back twice just trying to wash and rinse my medium-haired dog after daycare. She sleeps in bed with me, and I simply couldn't bring her in the house in the condition she was in after pickup. I truly admire pet parents who don't mind muddy paws on their carpets or furniture--but for me, home is a place of comfort and cleanliness. While I absolutely know she's a dog, I still expect her to come home somewhat clean. Lastly, I encourage potential clients to view online reviews and photos with a healthy dose of skepticism. My direct experience didn't align with what I saw online, and it made me question whether the glowing reviews were from verified pet owners. Puppy Manor looks nothing like the curated images on Google. If you love your pet as much as I do mine, I sincerely recommend exploring other options. Cost matters--but so does cleanliness, communication, and the peace of knowing your dog is truly cared for.
