We were looking for some help with our dog and his on-leash reactivity. We've taken a class before…read morebut found that we couldn't transfer the skills we learned there, to the real world. Ryan came and met with us at our house and talked with us, then went out on a training walk in our neighbourhood. A lot of the advice was what we had already learned (which was actually reassuring, because we prefer the positive reinforcement model) but he gave us some helpful tips about how to actually apply it outside. He also gave us some really useful insight into why our dog was behaving the way he does, plus he gave us a better idea on where we had been going wrong in the past (basically moving ahead too quickly without really perfecting the good behaviours). We've seen some improvements in our dog, though I admit that any delays are always due to our lack of consistency. I do wish Ryan could just magically transfer his cool and calm demeanour to us on our walks -- as soon as our dog was in his hands, he calmed right down and followed all of his commands. Of course our dog was so perfectly behaved when someone else was around, but this actually proved a big point about our own body language affecting our dog. I would definitely recommend Ryan to anyone.

We used to have to chase my dog down to get into the car for a car ride. It could take minutes to…read moreget him to settle down. It wasn't that he didn't want to go. He just had the case of the sillies everytime it was time to get into the car. As well, this fussy old pom wouldn't listen to me, and would do the "sit-stay" thing - on his terms only. It's hard to be ruled by a 9 pound furball. The classes ended up changing him a lot! (Or was it me) Now we play the "sit - stay - down - heal" game and he's quite eager. I'd thoroughly recommend Canine College. I really appreciate the way that the leader breaks up the class in dog size (small and large) because my little guy is quite afraid of large dogs. It's really helped a lot. Now, instead of chasing him around the yard to get in the car, I just give him the hand movement for "SIT" and pick him up. Done deal! That alone is worth the price, but we've learned a lot more than that! Thanks Canine College :)

The owner/trainer hit my puppy on the nose with a doubled up leather leash causing extensive…read moredamage. During a private lesson she forced him to be near a child to help him "overcome" his fears. This scared the child and terrified my puppy at which point she lifted him up by his leash and held him in the air like a dead chicken. When asked for a receipt and letter of progression for my puppy (that I had paid for) she never sent them. This trainer has not had a dog in over 12 years and told me that she hated having to teach beginner classes. I was also informed that if I did not attend her graduation (we have to supply the food) I would not receive a trophy, even if my puppy deserved one. Her private lessons consisted of walking my puppy around the neighbourhood and staying for dinner and taking him through the woods on a walk. Her methods are old and she does not have any notion about how to train a pup with fear or aggression problems. The owner is living in dream land. This place is a waste of time and money.

I had hired Drew based on a recommendation from a friend and x-coworker and I am glad that I did…read more In May 2014. I had met a women from of craigslist and bought a crazy dog named Luna. Luna was any where between 5-8 months and I would now be her 4th owner. Luna was an extra large puppy about 75lbs a shepherd, boarder collie, retriever cross and facing many health problems as well as behaviour issues that were unfolding by the day. Luna is now between 98-100lbs. Luna was hyperactive, barely knew to sit, would chronically whine, stress bark/scream became reactive (barking and lunging) at dogs, buses, large trucks and would lose complete control if she saw anyone with a ball of any kind. Luna could not focus at all was high stressed, high strung and a handful who is a super athletic dog who is strong. Luna wold turn her frustration to me and jump up and nip and mouth leaving me with busies and often in tears. Drew and I worked for the same company for many years knew of one another but didn't know one another well. Meeting drew on our first consultation I was so nervous I was trembling. My fear was that Drew would tell me that Luna should be put down or was hopeless to train, would have no dog friends and was aggressive. (Something another trainer advised me) I loved Luna and saw her struggles the moment she stepped out of the craigslist posters car and I knew I wouldn't give up on her. Drew is supportive and not once indicated that there was no hope for Luna. Drew tried all kinds of tactics to reach and connect with Luna. Drew helped me perfect my body language and increase my confidence working a strong, working breed. Drew helped me break down step by step every challenge I was facing (and there were many) Every time I needed Drew a solution was provided. It was a struggle and Drew's commitment to Luna was an inspiration and motivation to keep going. Today Luna has peace a gift Drew helped me create with Luna. Luna knows well over 50 commands well, Luna is obedient has learned to ignore all dogs, has actually made dog friends and can be trusted with puppies as young at 9 weeks old with no issues. Luna now walks with young puppies and adolescent dogs giving them confidence and lesson their fear of large dogs. With Drew, you will see immediate improvement and come out of the experience with a plan and confidence to take on any situation. Luna is my best friend and continues to help other dogs that were just like she was in the beginning because of Drew's gift and dedication to dogs. I am forever grateful. Carey Bolduc

Our dog was also aggressive with visitors to the house, which was having impacts on our lives. Drew set up a training schedule for us, was extremely knowledgeable and great to work with. He was very patient in training us to be the best dog owners we could be. He also helped us with crate training, heeling and a number of other commands. We would have no qualms in recommending Drew's services and we are so happy with our well behaved pup.

I…read morecame from another facility and initially was quite nervous we wouldn't fit in as the initial application required a demonstration video but it was fine and more to make sure we were registered for the correct Agility skill level. During the pandemic they followed Public Health Orders and always ensured safety was maintained for dogs and trainers alike. My dog and I were made to feel very welcome and it has been really great training both privately and in group classes. The group class community is very positive and encouraging - people clap for each other, cheer each other on or even trade videos of each other's runs. We also laugh at the silly things our dogs do from time to time. The instructor I've been primarily working with is Elisha and she has an incredible sense of humour, is an encouraging coach and is quick to identify errors and recommend adjustments. All the dogs love her as she often has the best treats for the most challenging obstacles. They have a good registration system in place where if you already have a spot in the class then you have a reserved space for the next series. Private lessons are popular also. Staff are very communicative and kind with questions. Bonus is that their payment system is through a business version of PayPal so I feel my credit card information is safe. I'd highly recommend this place if you're thinking about taking your dog here for training.
