Awesome facility and staff. We have been taking our dogs here for years. Excellent care and attention is provided. One of my dogs was getting a bit elderly and they noted she was having some diarrhea, they took her to a local vet and also consulted my normal vet. When we moved to South Surrey we tried 3 different kennels before finding Hazelmere. Our vet recommended them. Our Boston's have stayed there on a few different occasions and we've pre-booked through 2020. The Kennel is clean and organized and the staff are knowledgeable, accommodating and genuinely friendly. We are thrilled to finally find a kennel we can trust and feel comfortable leaving our dogs there. read more

After picking up our dog at Hazelmere, it seemed quite traumatized, was completely frightened of the neighbour's dog with whom it used to play regularly. We don't know what may have happened there. Would not recommend Hazelmere. read more

I agree totally with poster "Francis U", my dog also was badly traumatized with her stay at Hazelmere. Done ALL correctly to ensure my dog would be taken care of. Despite bringing her in the year before to meet staff and see place (with exceptional references, utd medical records, her history, feed schedule, etc.) and upon 4 day advance reservation call to book boarding & mgr. repeated board cost, thought 'no problem' here. (Also, on designated day, no problem dropping my dog off with her possessions and food to the mgr. & staff) How wrong I was! My large once-rescued dog is very laid back, full of taught tricks, dog/cat social. Much like my previous Boxers and Labs temperament! Upon p.u. was told she was no longer welcome there because staff were young and not experienced enough because she was "too hyper"! I deduced they were AFRAID of her coz she RAN OUT UNATTENDED & NO COLLARS ON (she had 2, 1 with ID tags) from the back room in the entry area (could have easily ran out onto street if door was open)! They just released her from back cage/kennel I presume unescorted!!! I also presume she was left in kennel not even exercised. - Plus told boarding costs were near double of what was quoted prior! My dog came home noticeably fearful, out of sorts (sullen, staring blankly, not playful, listless), would not open screen door to come in house which she routinely + casually do, nor willingly walk thru gate to go into yard. Hazelmere is inconsistent with boarding costs quoted & DEFINITELY dog breed discriminatory. with misconception. They seem to cater to smaller breed dogs and 'some' known larger breeds. Would never ever recommend this inexperience, unprofessional boarding kennel. Camrose Kennels in Surrey is superb, the staff, owners (Simon & Terry") are terrific. No problem whatsoever with her multiple stays at this truly "ALL dog-friendly" establishment! So confident when I board her there, she comes home "safe & happy". My dog loves it there, but, they were booked solid, so unfortunately this 1 overnight stay was at further away Hazelmere. What an unpleasant and disheartening mistake. read more

I have had really good success with Hazelmere Kennels. One of my dogs suffers from Anxiety and the other can have territorial issues. After explaining my dogs issues the staff were very friendly. They spent the day with the dogs before I boarded them at no cost. They had some initial apprehensions about my dog with territorial issues (since she is a pitty) but after the initial assessment they felt they could handle her. I have now left my dogs in the care of Hazelmere kennels 5 times for vary periods of time. My dogs have always returned home healthy and happy. I know my dogs aren't the easiest to deal with but I have been very impressed with the patience and understanding that Hazelmere has shown. The dogs areas are clean and well kept with more than enough space for my medium sized dogs. I will definetly be bringing my two dogs back and will be recommending Hazelmere to my friends and family. read more

If your dog even remotely resembles any type of bully breed, steer clear of this place. In our search for a trustworthy kennel to board our 2 super-friendly, raised with little children, young, energetic dogs we went for a "free play day" which is a trial to see how the dogs do before boarding. When we originally went and checked out the facility a couple weeks prior, we were shown larger kennels in which our two dogs would be housed together. When I picked my girls up from their trial day the two younger girls working there, who are fantastic btw, brought them out from the back unleashed (because apparently that's what you do with "aggressive" dogs) and said they did well and showed no signs of aggression (which they never have, ever) and that they would be fine to stay while we're away on vacation. Then, the manager came up behind and says that they are only able to stay if they are in separate kennels, quoting her words "if they were labs it would be fine but because of their breed they must be separated." I voiced my concern about how I didn't think it was a good idea because one of my dogs is sensitive and was already nervous about being there and to separate her from her sister would make it even harder on her. Her reply was that my dog was very needy which is another reason why they should be separated. She kept going on about breed and how they have school-aged children coming in there all the time and if they're together then they will be aggressive toward them and she was also saying how her younger staff couldn't handle them together, that they were too much dog together, my 7 year-old daughter takes care of them and can walk them together lol! But way to belittle your staff there lady, I'm sure they love it when you talk about them like they're incapable. One of the other staff members was trying to tell her how well they did while they were there, but she didn't seem to care. It's too bad the manager doesn't consider her staffs' input, it's a lot more valuable an unbiased than her own. My dogs are a bully breed, not pitbulls (not that it should matter anyway), but a bully breed nonetheless. This lady should just put a big sign on the door saying "BULLY BREEDS NOT WELCOME" because that's exactly how it is at Hazelmere. At least if she had told us up front about her restrictions and rules about bullies then we wouldn't have wasted our time. I realize that every kennel has they're own rules and opinions about certain things but they should be up front and honest in the beginning instead of wasting people's time. read more

We've boarded our dog, Lady at a number of kennels over the years. Since moving into the South Surrey area we have been boarding her at Haselmere, and have always been very happy with the service and treatment Lady has received. I would have no hesitations in recommending them. read more
