Our dog Chance loves Puget Hound! He starts howling on Eldridge and can't wait until we pull in. He goes for daycare and loves to socialize there and it wears him out. My puppy has been here three times and will never go again. The first visit was daycare and everything seemed okay when he came home. The second visit was an overnight and he came home absolutely filthy! He was really lethargic and had bloody discharge coming from his penis. Took him to vet and fixed him up. I wasn't willing to bring him back but I went camping for the weekend and my husband bright him in for daycare. I returned home the following day and my puppy's front paws were hugely swollen and bright pink/red and peeling in between the toes. He was really lethargic, and is so uncomfortable. He stopped eating and now has bloody diarrhea. My husband said he was filthy again when we picked him up-not just dirty but crusty, filthy, stinky. So unless you enjoy going to the vet often, don't take your dog here! Nothing was reported or communicated to us either time and so our last 2 visits combined have costed us over $600 in medical/vet bills. This place is trash. read more

The only reason for 2 stars is because the owner talked to us and said that "heads will roll" with her staff... We also weren't charged. Our normal boarding facility-Hiline_-was booked so according to Google Reviews, this was the next best place. Boy, were we wrong. We dropped our two dogs off on Friday morning. I was very clear about our one dogs medicine and how/when they were to give it. Spoiler alert: It was never given. When I called 24 hours into their stay to check on them, the girl who answered the phone said that she didn't know who my dogs were, but when she came in, "all the dogs seemed fine". Obviously this threw me into a physical panic attack and I demanded she go back and look and make sure my dogs were ok. Fast forward to picking them up, our aussie was COVERED IN FECES- both dried and fresh!!! HOW? Both of my dogs are well trained and potty trained to boot. Their bedding was filthy and covered in feces, only one blanket had been washed. Our dogs have been boarded many times, and this has never been an issue. When I said that we needed to clean him up, the young girl at the counter handed me a tissue. A tissue. To clean up feces out of my dogs fur. The owner finally came in and helped us get him in the bath to get him cleaned up. Their excuse? The young, incredibly defensive girl at the counter said the lapse in care was DUE TO A DOG ESCAPING AND RUNNING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. Um..I wouldn't be 1) advertising this and 2) using it as an excuse for the beyond poor care our dogs received. The owner did try to make it right and said she would be terminating this employee, however, she also took the opportunity to talk badly about her competition (Hiline Hotel) and try to convince us that they were somehow better than them. Last I checked, Hiline wasn't losing their dogs and chasing them down the freeway. read more

I wanted to love this place as the reviews were pretty good. With the price of 50$/night I expected a great experience, but my experience fell short of even decent. My dog when dropped off was healthy but sadly pickles came home with a double paw infection, ear infection, kennel cough, a fever was puking and shivering. A very pricey vet bill later we can assume that it was contracted here @ puget hound. 250$ of boarding just to have an extremely ill dog. I understand these things happen but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go through what I have had to go through from boarding my dog at this place. read more

My dog Shadow can't wait to go to Puget Hound, I bring my dog here every single Tuesday from morning until night. She's not only started making friends with the other Tuesday regular dogs but some of the people there as well, the staff have all been kind and super helpful with taking care of my baby and giving her such a fun play day she will come home and just take a nice long nap. read more

Puget Hound is by far the best daycare I've found for my pup. She is a high energy gal and every time she comes home from daycare she is happy and pooped out. They also accommodated me during and emergency situation going above and beyond to make sure Blue was safe and well cared for. The employees are informative and kind. Please note that it is now 10:00am, the kennel opens at 6:30. Still no contact from Puget Hound. 5 days. NO IDEA how my dog is doing. I'm boarding a plane to come home in an hour or so. This has been an absolutely unbelievable, horrible, and stressful experience. Edit 2: the employees ended up lying to my face when I picked up my dog. It's been a few days now and he's presented the signs of having kennel cough! As if it couldn't get any worse. read more

My dog got pneumonia after boarding here, and we had to take her to to the local emergency Veterinary hospital after picking her up from a 3 day stay at Puget Hound. She began wheezing and coughing approximately 6 hours after picking her up, which was followed by a $2,000 two night stay at the animal hospital. A much more expensive vacation than we had anticipated. I should have been suspicious when their front desk attendant handed me paperwork regarding kennel cough going around the facility upon picking up my dog. Puget Hound's boarding agreement states that if your pet becomes ill or injured as a result of or in the course of their board, PH will pay up to $500 toward the vet bill. I called probably 4 times and emailed regarding this issue, and was ultimately ghosted by their management. For those interested in alternatives- I would recommend Kulshan Vet for boarding, as they have veterinarians on site if anything should happen to your pet during their stay (they can also prescribe medication if needed while you are away- with your permission of course). The last thing you want to worry about while on vacation is whether or not you will have your fur baby to come home to. It was touch and go for us for a frightening 48 hours, and due to the swift interventions at at our emergency veterinary clinic, we are fortunate to have our girl with us today. I will not send my dog or any future pets to board at puget hound again. read more

We were visiting the area and our dog was there for 24 hours and had a great time but when he left he was limping and by the end of the day he couldn't even stand up to go potty. We were told about sore feet being common because the play area is gravel but our boy's feet were rubbed raw and covered in pus. Did no one notice and check on him? We ended up having to cancel the remainder of our trip and go home to take him to the vet for antibiotics and pain meds. If sore feet are that common, then a change should be made to the play area. You can't expect dogs to limit how hard they play on their own. I would rather have had my dog in a kennel for part of his stay and have him be able to walk for the next few days than not. Aside from this, they were great. Sent updates and photos to us. read more

My two dogs used to love this facility with the prior owners, however within the first couple of trips to the facility with new owners, my Frenchie contacted highly contagious foot warts at Puget Hound. I called to let them know and they were completely clueless, I had to explain what it was and how quickly it can spread, their response was "wow, we had no idea". The staff is nice but didn't appear knowledgeable on sanitation or safety. I was promised a call back from the owner that never came. I've not been back. I called Puget Hound to discuss their boarding packages and discovered that the "premium lodging" options listed on their website are incredibly misleading. For $46 dollars a night, their "premium package", your dog is let out 4 times to potty (15 min each) and three times to play in the play yard (15-30 minutes each). That's a grand total of 2.5 hours outside. The rest of the time your dog is locked in their kennel, for 21.5 hours. And that's for their most expensive package. I've seen dog shelters give their pups more engagement and stimulation that this place offers. Avoid. read more

Our dogs loved puget hound. But the last time they were there, one of them was attacked by another dog. The staff didn't notify us of his injuries. He had puncture wounds and scratches on his face, neck, and sides. When we called to ask about it, they acted as if he only got a scratch or two. Definitely won't be returning. read more

I've use a lot of Doggy Daycare's being an active duty service member and now a veteran. This is above and beyond better than any dog daycare are used in San Diego. Of course the only downside is they're only open for daycare 12 hours a day the place I used in San Diego was open 24 hours a day but Puget hound treats Mr. Spock like royalty. He comes back super tired and very excited. I even occasionally run into employees at work here who know him by name and greet him like he's one of their friends. You cannot go wrong by going here don't listen to any bad reviews because they probably are just griping about something stupid. read more

I haven't actually been to Puget hound, but called them this week to see if they could watch my dogs for an upcoming vacation. The lady on the phone kindly explained how their business works and every option available. She spent time going over every question I had without any complaint about how long it took. Even when I told her my timeframe for pet sitting she kindly explained that the amount of time I would be gone wouldn't be good for the dogs to be at home alone even with a house sitter. She happy took more time to give me a few alternative options and even explained what she knew about their boarding options. And what she thought would best fit the timeframe I had. It meant a lot to me that puget hound put the mental welfare of my dogs above earning money. That alone will have me come back to them in the future. read more

These guys are great. They are open a solid 12 hours a day with no weird blocks of time reserved for drop off and pick up. They have a wide range of boarding and daycare options for your pups, including a slumber party option so they don't have to sleep in kennels. The staff is very friendly, professional, and laid back. They are just super easy peasy to deal with, conveniently located, and most importantly our dog loves going there. He sleeps for about 48 hours whenever he comes home so I know he's gotten a ton of activity, whereas some other places don't allow much interaction or playtime. Great place! read more

Initially they were great and conscientious however we had multiple issues with their billing where they were billing me for times that I did not use their services. There was another dog there with the same name. We have also been double billed on occasion and instead of trying to work with me to figure it out and admit they may have made a mistake........they demand payment. I have prepaid for daycare but now am told cannot go there until I pay other bill which is on a different system. Completely disorganized, a lot of staff changes and now they won't return my prepayments. Definitely won't use them again and will make a complaint to a Better Business Bureau. read more

Our super curly boy not only had a great day of play, but ended with a bath and trimming of the ear mats. He likes the groomer so well, apparently he took a nap at her feet in the office. Excellent customer service! The owner truly loves dogs, gave a tour of her facility, explained all her policies and met with my Dad's dog. We have yet to board our pets here, but the next time we go out of town, the dogs will go to the Puget Hound! After all the places we saw, this clearly was the winner. read more

There is no other place like Puget Hound! They have excellent customer service and amazing staff. Every time our dog gets a walk we receive a text with a short summary of how the walk went along with a photo. If something unusual happens, they are quick to let us know as well. They truly take their job seriously and with great care for our dogs. My parents trust them with their chocolate lab, my brother also trusts them with his puppy boxer and my husband and I with our Siberian Husky. All of the previously mentioned breads are different in temper and needs. Never once have we hesitated about their great work and continue to support what they do. My dog is the nervous type and he resisted entering the building on his first EVER day of daycare. About 15 minutes after I had dropped him off, I called to check how he was doing, I was told he immediately ran to the outside area and started playing with the other dogs. When I picked him up, at the end of my work day, his report card was glowing, I learned he had made a friend with a dog of a similar temperament, and he was a happy, friendly (not timid) little dude even with the lobby full of dog-parents. Thankfully, as we drive home, and for the rest of that evening, he was konked out. Job well done, Puget Hound -- this will be a perfect, regular hangout for my pup! read more

Love these guys because they love our dogs. Everyone is always so friendly and happy, and when they started offering grooming and bathing services I nearly cried tears of joy. Being able to drop the dogs off and know for a fact that they will have a good day and come home clean is pretty luxurious. We use daycare services regularly and have also boarded the dogs. Puget Hound is amazing! First of all, Haley (the owner) took us as last-minute clients when we went away a holiday weekend. Awesome. Then she came for a complimentary meet-and-greet at my house. I introduced her to our two dogs, showed her around, explained their routine. Again, awesome. She came to our house 3x a day to feed, potty, walk and play with our pups. AND even sent us daily text message updates with photos and a video! AMAZING. I recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter. We've used the Puget Hound for boarding our two dogs several times over the past two years. Their facility was very convenient to us, their rates were reasonable, and they were a no-kennel facility which our dogs loved. Unfortunately, the owners (Haley and Nick) moved back to Colorado and closed the Puget Hound at the end of September. At the time, they said Hyline Hotel for Dogs would be taking over, but the facility is still abandoned 3 months later. We've tried Hyline's main facility in Everson and it's OK, but not as convenient. read more

The Puget Hound is amazing. They were available on short notice (less than 48 hours) and you can tell that Haley absolutely loves dogs and her work. She went above and beyond with my English Bulldog puppy, telling me that she would spend extra time with Norman at no cost just because he's so darn sweet and adorable. She sent me text messages during and after both of her visits and took beautiful pictures of Norman that she shared with me and those who follow their Facebook page. If I ever need anyone to watch Norman in the future when I'm in Bellingham I will be calling Haley at The Puget Hound 100 percent of the time, every time. Thanks for everything, Haley! read more

Before I even went in this place was the most highly recommended place that people suggested at the dog park I go to. BUT still I shopped around. I ended up really going to Puget Hound because of the price, the recommendations, and the tour (facilities are very clean). So I took my extremely outgoing dog (Australian shepherd 9months) into their lobby for his first day and he began to cower between my legs in fear, super unusual. But then the staff there was so... lovely, happy, patient, all the words to describe just overall pleasant and helpful. They assured me of how normal that reaction was and the man that came to get my dog was just the most charismatic person ever. He saw that my dog had become attached to another dog in the lobby and offered to take them back together so mine didn't have to be alone. I called halfway through his first day and was told my pup was doing great (they have never failed to answer the phones). When I picked him up he was the same dog I remember, so happy and outgoing. They told me he was awesome and assured me that they wanted him back again. The report card they gave me was so sweet and thoroughly filled out, and funny too. I will absolutely be taking my pup back here! read more
