We boarded our gentle and sometimes timid Schnoodle at Lupita's and now Kelly's Upscale Puppy a few time a year over the past 7 years and have been very pleased. Our dog happily trots to greet Kelly and Bill, and has even eagerly led the way into the house when we drop her off. She finds her own special place to sleep, has been known to play rounds of chase with an especially compatible playmate or hang out in her favorite part of their large, well-fenced play yard. I hate to be a voice in the wilderness here, but reading all of these glowing reviews, which are at odds with my own experience, and finding no echo of the troubles I have had, I feel that I need to be that voice, if only so that people who have experiences like mine can know that they are not imagining it and they are not alone! Lupita was recommended to me by a local dog professional whose opinion I value. The first time I left my dog here, however, i had a problem. I had left a specific instruction regarding my dog's care that Lupita did not follow. This resulted in a trip to the vet that cost over $100 as well as significant discomfort to my dog, caused both by the condition itself and by the treatment of it. Obvioiously I was not pleased. I have had a hard time, however, finding quality boarding in my area. After my first bad experience, I searched Upscale Puppy's online reviews. I was looking to see if anyone had had a similar negative experience. I found nothing but praise and love. So I figured it was a one-off fluke and/ or just me. I decided to try Lupita again. Before leaving my dog with Lupita the second time, I purchased a protective garment for my pup. This garment, when used properly, can prevent or minimize the sort of problem that happened when I left him with Lupita the first time. I should note here that my dog has been boarded many times,once for nearly two weeks. He has also been boarded, throughout his life, at 4 different facilities. But never has he been returned to me as disgusting as he was on this second occasion at Lupita's. He had been with her 4 nights and smelled as if he had slept in a puddle of pee the whole time. Even my husband, whose nose is not nearly as sensitive as mine, had a gag moment when our dog got in the car. When we got home we removed the garment that i mentioned. A good deal of the reek seemed to be coming from this, although even after removing it our pup was still very stinky and was rushed up to the bath. The garment itself had to be soaked twice @ 24 hours per soak then rinsed multiple times in hot water to get it stink-free. Even if Lupita were not the most expensive place in town, I would find this totally unacceptable. This is not even a regular level of care, let alone the particular attention that I was led to believe my extra dollars were purchasing. My guess is that Lupita is overwhelmed. Both times she had my dog, she sent me a photo of him in the yard. Each time there were about 10 total dogs. Who can attentively care for 10 dogs? The first time my pup stayed with her she mentioned that her assistant was temporarily not around. I don't know if this was the case for the second stay, but if her helper was there she didn't seem to help much. Anyway, it's not my job to hypothesize why my dog received substandard care both times he stayed with her. Needless to say I won't be back, and I felt like I should share my experience so that if in the future someone has an experience like mine, they can read this and get some validation that they're not imagining things, it's not just them, and they're not wrong to look elsewhere for attentive care for their pup. read more

This is the most amazing place! We needed a last minute place to board our Wheaten puppy when we spent a few days at Semiahmoo this week. We found Lupita's Upscale Puppy and it was wonderful! Finn loved his time there and we felt so comfortable knowing he was being well cared for. Lupita sent me multiple pictures and videos showing Finn playing with his new buddies, and when we picked him up he was happy and exhausted! Thank you Lupita!!! read more

Lupita's Upscale puppy as been a wonderful addition to our dog's life. He absolutely loves going there! Not only does Lupita have years of experience, but she truly takes the time to get to know each one of the spoiled puppies at her daycare. Now that we have Lupita we do not have to feel guilty for leaving for the weekend or on vacation because we know Bentley will be taken care of. This is Universal Studios for small dogs! The name says puppy, but its not age that determines who can come in, but its weight and size ... nobody over 40 pounds. First of all there are no crates here, each puppy has their own pillow for naps and overnight. Everybody outside every hour in a large exercise yard. But this is not just a big area to run around in, this place has sites! There is a teeter-totter or seesaw depending on where you come from and yes the puppies, one on each end, figure it out and make it work. There is a two story puppy-size saloon, a brothel, our Gussie's favorite hangout, and other "frontier style' buildings all built by Lupita's husband Ken. Talking about Lupita, you won't find a more dedicated, caring or energetic dog lover any where. When she is not with the puppies she is running marathon races. Check this out ... Lupita was committed to providing a safe, fun and special environment for our four legged family member. I was so impressed with the care she provided for our French bulldog. I have a high expectation for the type of care I wanted and that expectation was exceeded in every way. It was a perfect experience, no crates, no kennels; it was a wonderful upscale home environment. Lupita was very professional and accommodating. WHAT????? We are the Yorkies in charge when we visit Upscale Puppy! Our names are Augustus(Gus) & Dolce. We used to be 3 yorkies when our Boss Caesar was still alive & Lupita & Ken are our "mommy & daddy" when we're away from home. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ABUSED THERE! We are luved a bunch & along with others are "high priority" with great care& Mommy Lupita doesn't miss a thing! I'll add a footnote here to our pups testament. When we had to put Caesar down (almost 16 yrs old) we were devasted that our condo developer would not allow us to bury him there. I was so distraught I was at a loss since we've only been here 4 yrs & are still learning the "ins & outs" of this area. I called Lupita because I knew she & Ken would have a suggestion. They sure did... Ken went right out & made the first area of a CEMETERY at Upscale Puppy!!! These individuals that some disparage, are sent from above for us! Our Caesar resides peacefully there so we all can visit. I can't imagine leaving our little boys anywhere else when we have to leave without them. God bless them & their business! I have never heard an unkind word about ANY other business from them, my boys love them both as is obvious when they run up on the porch from the car, & we will be forever grateful for their care & kindness! read more

Lupita and her husband are remarkable dog lovers. My dog has never been left at a kennel and so I researched and found Upscale Puppy. What a relief, no cages just able to live in the house and have freedom in a large outdoor area. My Havanese is 1-1/2 years old and this enabled her to socialize with other dogs. When vacation was over and I picked up my dog she was brushed and ready to go. I could tell she had been having fun as Lupita sent me photos while I was gone which eased my mind considerably. I will start taking my dog for some daycare so she will continue to socialize and have some great playtime. Truly an awesome place! read more
