This store is very big! We were looking for one thing and ended up finding many other things! We were impressed with all of the dog toys--especially how many are available that are indestructible. We plan on testing that claim! We enjoyed seeing pet owners shopping with their animals, whether beside them or in their carts. The new woman in the fish department was extremely helpful. She has blue rings in her ears. Of course I get to register and got a bit confused. And, of course, at the register, it was the same Sarah, who was stupidly hateful about me buying fish the last time. It appears PetSmart made her some sort of supervisor. When I got confused, Sarah stated about the woman in the fish department "I'm going to smack her " and went to the fish department, holding up a line. I love PetSmart. there's this one worker who just is completely ignorant to fish safety and their life's. she reaches her whole hand in the net instead of putting the fish in the clear counter box that is hung on the side of the tank. it's there for a purpose not for you to choose against using it. she's unsafe with the fish the last one I bought she man handled it and it had a mark from where her big brawny and sharp nails cut its side a little and I'm pissed bc it died two days later and they didn't refund me. read more

I took my labradoodle (a happy, active dog with no known health problems) to Petsmart grooming salon on Glenstone in Springfield, MO on January 4, 2024 for a haircut. A few hours later I carried his limp body out of Petsmart's front doors and drove him directly to the emergency vet where despite all efforts, he passed away. The vet confirmed that he had internal bleeding. She didn't get as far as determining why before he passed. Petsmart used one of the emergency vet's unconfirmed hypotheses (she had more than one) about what she observed with him clinically to claim that my dog's sudden severe physical decline to death that began under the care of their groomers was totally a (previously undetected) health problem that coincidentally became deadly during his grooming session through no fault of their own. Obviously, I have my doubts. Nonetheless, they offered me $2967.45 to sign an extensive confidentiality agreement and never speak of what happened again. But I didn't sign it. I took my dog in shortly after 6 pm for a nail trim only to be told they were closing even though the sign on the door said 9 pm. then bought two bags of dog food had a coupon for $15 off $90 or more. I was 2 cents short of $90 and they would not honor coupon even after I asked them to override it since I was only 2 cents short! Really???!!! I have 2 large dogs that needed groomed. I have been using petsmart for a few years so I contacted them to schedule an appointment. The first available is a 9am on a Thursday. I explain to the young lady helping me I have to be at work at 9am. She explains the salon opens at 8am and I can bring my dogs early to drop them off so that I can still get to work on time. Hearing this I make the appointment and go over all of the specifics with her on what im wanting done to save time. She thanks me and I assume everything is set. I get there on the morning of my appointment between 830am and 845am and am told now that I have to wait until 9am for the groomers to check me in. I explain to this girl I have already gone over all this with her co-worker and was told I could bring them in early so Im not late for work. She still refuses to help me. I ask for a store manager explain it all to him and he also refuses to help me. So I cancel my appointments and leave for work with both of my dogs still with me and walk in late because Petsmart employees can't seem to agree on store policy and could care less about anyone's time or trouble in trying to be a loyal customer for their grooming services. I have spent a lot of money for pet supplies and grooming through the years at pet smart but I will never buy or give them any of my business ever again. read more

i have tried their grooming twice. the first time the groomer called me within 20 minutes and said my dog was awful and that he needed sedatives. we went to a different groomer, she told me he did great and there was no problems with him that weren't typical for his breed. i found this suspicious. so we took our other dog to petsmart to trial it again with a different gal, the groomer did amazing with him, but we witnessed another groomer yelling at one of the dogs she was grooming bc he wasn't holding still. i would say to watch who is grooming your dog here. read more

Wonderful service on grooming of our dog! We were traveling and visiting relatives and our dog needed a grooming after jumping in the lake. They were easy to schedule an appointment with and the people working in grooming were very nice and handled our large dog very well! I was very pleased and also noticed this location has a pet hotel as well as day care and even vet care! The stores in my area don't have any of that extra above grooming! The store also has a very large parking lot and we were able to park our RV easily. I would definitely recommend this store for grooming and they had the usual large variety of products as well. read more

Love the staff and the product selection. I always use the grooming service. Just make sure you request Bonnie. She is the only groomer and is ah-mazing! If you don't request a groomer, they will just schedule you with a grooming assistant with questionable results. They forgot to trim my dog's nails 2x and left a gash in his abdoment after what I assume was an unsuccessful sanitary trim. But Bonnie will always make sure that your pet looks and feels great and will also follow up with you regarding your pet. As long as you avoid the cluelessness at the grooming check in and out, you'll be just fine. read more

Get everything for your pet in one place. They have a wide variety of pet food and even have grooming and a vet hospital in the store. I've been using the vet (Banfield) for over 15 years and there are always dogs to pet walking around the store with their people. They don't sell dogs or cats, but do have some rodents and birds. On weekends the local no-kill shelters bring in animals that need adoption and that's better than contributing to the puppy mill problem anyway. read more

I brought my one year old pup here for a bath and nail trim. I was charged extra for a service my pup never received. I was told over the phone that the charge would be removed and upon pickup it wasn't removed. Other than that, the staff seemed pleasant. Every time I enter this pooch-palace it makes me want to buy an animal of some sort. For a while, I wanted a parrot. Then I thought, "Polly wanna cracker?" I realized that I probably couldn't handle it. There was a period of time that I wanted a salt water aquarium. Nah, too much trouble. I can't even give myself clean water, let alone a fish. I have owned a couple of dogs. That never turns out so well, I think by the end of potty training, I need a dis-temper shot. Snakes? -- Ew! So needless to say, I just go to Petsmart often. My mother's Shih Tzu, be careful of the spelling, let alone the pronunciation, needed a new treat, so we visited. I was pleased again. They hide the over the counter wormer and flea medicines. You can't just go in and look at them and price them based on your budget. You have to stand in line at a cashier and they bring out ONE overpriced option. It was super humiliating. They need to have the stuff out so you can look at it. Or at least a customer service counter so you don't hold up people trying to check out while they run in the back to get overpriced items. I found the same medicine for 1/4 the price on Amazon, so I feel like they also have ridiculous prices. Name brand flea tablets and dewormer on Amazon is $28.00 for both medicines, at this place they wanted over $100. And the check out girl was also really rude. read more

This place is awful. Just another chain store. Half the staff don't even seem to know or care anything about pets. All of their prices are higher than pets way. That's when you're paying the price that's on the tag. I went in to buy a pet palace for my cats. There was 4 of the same kind on the shelf next to a sign that read 47.99. All them were really 79.99. The staff made no attempt to fix the situation just told me that the sign was for a different product. Well clearly, but why did they put it in front of that? I found the college aged staff highly unhelpful and very unprofessional. I won't be returning. GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR PET SUPPLIES!!! The employee here we dealt with in the fish section was extremely rude, and incompetent in customer service. We asked her to get us two different fish out of the tank for us to buy. She practically refused to sell them to us. I guess because she knew everything about fish and we were just so stupid. Even though I have owned fish since I was five, or about as many years as she has been alive. She was not gently putting forth her opinion or expertise, even though we did not ask for her opinion. She just said with her nasty B-Face, "you don't want that" and then nothing else. I said, "We would still like it please." To which she said, "but you don't need it". My wife turned around and walked away. Knowing that she was about to kill her. I told her to just get us the fish we want out of the tank. She huffed and rolled her eyes like a spoiled teenager and finally did it as slow as humanly possible. The icing on the cake was that after she finally did her job, I asked her to get a snail out of the snail tank. Again she said, unbelievably, "you don't want that." All I said was "Wow", now I just turned and walked away. My poor four-year-old kept asking where the snail we told her we would get her was. But I was about to lose it on this girl, so we left. My mind was blown with the fact that she told me, a customer, that she, the company's employee, did not want to sell me something twice. She had no reason other than "you don't want that". I couldn't believe it. THAT IS HER ONLY JOB! To get the damn fish out of the damn tank. It was such a crappy shopping experience that when we got home I called the General Manager. He listened but did not seem to care much. Whether he will do something about it I will never know. But I have always had a good experience with PetsWay so I will be going there from now on. Oh...and one of the fish did not even make it an hour at home. My guess is that she did not like us not listening to her, and gave us a sick fish. This is a review about there Pet Training classes. I've taken two levels with my dog and was very pleased by the results. I took my puppy in a crazy, loud, ball of energy and left with a somewhat calmer, not as loud ball of energy who can now sit on command. I recommend the classes to anyone with a dog who needs more social time (ie, get used to other animals and people). We learned a lot of good things in class and it really helped to bring down the obnoxious level to my dog. I'm not sure if I will go thur the 3rd level of learning as they do more parlor tricks (bring me my slippers, etc) and not so much social conditioning. I don't give it 5 stars thought because of the cost (100.00!!!) per level. I'm a cheapskate and it hurt to pay that much for teaching a free dog. But in the end it was very much worth it. read more

Took my dog in for grooming. Was quoted 37 when I called for the appointment. When I went to pay, they tried to charge me 49. I refused to pay the higher amount and will not take my dog there again. I bought two hermit crabs and got maggot covered dead hermits, I brung them back within an hour and got two live crabs. They did ask me if I left them in a hot car like I murdered them and grew maggots in that short amount of time...also feel free to look up utube videos of the places that supply animals to petco, petsmart, or any pet store and you will be horrified. Only buy animals from local breeders or animal shelters!!! They do have quality products at competitive prices but have no business selling live animals. read more

Great store for fish supplies. Not a huge selection of fish, but they seem healthy. Make sure if you're getting fish that you find an employee that cares to help you. The reason why I put this as a 3 star is that when I got a cat here it was in really bad health not blaming them I think it's a good place to buy stuff for your pets and also if you do get a cat at this location make sure you get them a check up. I took my two Maltese dogs to PetsMart to have them groomed. I needed to get them in somewhere as soon as I could and they were able to get me an appointment quickly. They did an amazing job on their cut and even took the time to talk to me about things I could do to make them healthier. The staff in the grooming department were very friendly and answered any questions that I had. read more

I went in to get a fish and some basic fish supplies. There was a couple in front of us and the store representative was helping them. He saw us and said he would get someone else over here to finish up getting the couple their fish. He overheard my mother and I talking about my tank and heard its size and I stated that I wanted two black molly's and told me NO. Then proceeded to treat me like a child and say you can only have a beta and showed me to the beta area handed me a brochure and listed off three things I needed to care for it and walked away. Never in my life have I been treated like a child when I knew what I wanted. At the check out the checkout clerk looked at us and said you have a tank? Like all i wanted was to keep the fish in the cup like an idiot. We proceeded to tell her of our experience and all she did was shrug her shoulders and say it happens. I am disappointed in a company who takes pride in their company but can hire rude people. I will not be going back and will take my business elsewhere in the future. This is the PLACE to buy cat food! I know everyone spends many hours perusing the Internet, finding the best place to buy cat food, but this is it. You DO have to walk all the way to the back of the store (did the cats design this particular torture for their humans?) but the store is always interesting. There are toys for dogs, stuff for dogs, books about dogs, dogs on leashes (always entertaining) and sometimes even dog obedience classes. They should sell tickets for those!!! Lots of aquarium stuff, little animals, rats and stuff, too. But the prices are good, selection is good, and they have JUMBO sizes of the stuff that counts, the stuff that keeps our cats from eating us alive. If I were strong enough to carry out the huge buckets of kitty litter from the back of the store, I might buy it here instead of at Sam's. But I'm weak from spending all my money on cat food. Oh, and they have lots of toys for you to buy for your cats so they can ignore them. But they will eat the food. read more

I just bought a new cat litter box. I chose one with a deep shelf for obvious reasons. Also the front is hinged for easy access to cleaning. However, it is taking forever to peel off the stickers. I feel it is necessary to remove all of the glue, or the cat litter and cat mess will stick on the sides of the box. The bar code was easy to peel off, so I don't believe the stickiness of the other stickers and tape is the fault of PetSmart, but if you have ever taken off wallpaper that hasn't been sized, you will have an idea of what I am going through. I am trying my best by applying nail polish remover and I have spent almost an hour so far on this project. The frustration it is causing me is almost not worth the purchase. read more

I would give the store -500 if I could! They don't care about your pet's Health at all! I took my dog there to get flea pills he had been there exactly one year ago actually he's been on the 29th of July the veterinarian is closed on the 28th and 29th this year because it was a Saturday and Sunday or or I would have went then. But I wouldn't have Monday the 30th right after my own doctor appointment. They refused to sell me the flea pills unless they gave my dog an examination. My dog shots are up-to-date my dog's tags are up-to-date my dog is not sick my dog just needs flea pills. Yet they refuse because it's been a year and a day since I've seen that vet. Would not sell me the very expensive me the flea pills. Up to this point I've been doing all my dog food shopping and shopping for my pet at that store. Paying for very expensive dog food.
