Staff is always friendly and our dogs are always excited to go to camp. Our 2 dogs have been going since they were pups, about 6 years now. My dog I had prior to these two also went for several years and all was well. read more

I know this chain from Utah where we're originally from. We just moved to Springfield and the first day of moving we needed to board our 1 yr old dog. She was boarded for 3 nights. The first night she was there I received a phone call. They explain that she had a quarter size wound on her hip. They offered to take her to the vet. But at that time I told them to keep an eye on it and on her and to keep it clean. I called twice a day to make sure she's doing okay. They went through their footage and saw that she might have gotten the wound from one of their gates. They kept her wound clean and bandaged the whole stay. The day I picked her up I took her to the vet ER. I informed camp bow wow of this visit and said they can credit me the amount of the bill. They made sure that I was okay with the credit, which I am. The vet also agreed that this wound did look like a scrape against a hard or sharp object. We also noticed she had a little scrape on her shoulder as well. She ended up with 6 staples on her hip. ..Accidents happen. I loved how they kept in contact with me about her stay and how open they were about the whole situation. I will be using them again read more

I had an unsatisfactory experience at CAMP BOW WOW SPRINGFIELD WEST. Hard to know where to start. My dogs are the same dogs as the first time they went to this location. Today the district manager decided after numerous day camp visits and two multi day overnight stays that it would better to go somewhere else. All that has changed is the number of dogs, which is excessive. At least 117 on one day my dogs were there. This is another corporate chain hungry for profits. They DO NOT CARE that your dogs might be agitated by this number and the environment it creates. One of my dogs was bitten twice there on two separate visits. He did not bite either of the other dogs. I am sure he was totally stressed each time. Too many dogs!! Finally, nice trick of charging me for the day BEFORE telling me to go somewhere else. read more

ridiculous all the little things they charge extra for. snuggle time?? really? treats or small group play is extra??? if i leave my pet there, i would expect someone to love on him. $20 extra for a popsicle? your popsicle cost less than a dollar. i want to take my pet to a place that is trying hard to comfort them while they are away from home. just had to get that out. read more

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. the dogs are in the kennels for hours at the daycare. I expect the service I pay for which is daycare and for my dog to socialize and get exercise. Here we are, 31 dollars a day for my dog to be in a kennel when he could do that for free at home. I'm absolutely and utterly livid and disgusted by this daycare. I spoke to the front desk person and she didn't care AT ALL. But why would they? they keep the dogs in the kennels for hours. read more

We are very protective of our daschound Roman so finding a day care that gave us a peace of mind was critical. Roman has been going to Camp Bow Wow off and on for a few months. Your dog has to pass an interview process but really they have to pass mine!! They passed the test! He's about to become a regular camper 5 days a week. You can tell they love dogs. They know him by name and he's so excited to get in the door. If we say the word CAMP at home he starts jumping and spazzing wanting to go to the car. I love being able to check the webcam to check on him. I expect Roman to be going there for a long time. read more

We have used camp bow wow for about 2 years and unfortunately we will not be going back. We boarded them for 1 week (which we had done before) and after about two days they called us and said the dogs were running out of food. We have boarded them numerous times and know how much to pack, which means, over feeding, sharing food, or spilled. Secondly, we asked them to trim our dogs nails last time and they forgot to do it. This time, they remembered to do the nails, however, it was a botched job. Hardly could tell they were trimmed and had one that split and they left it. Lastly, we are not the type of owners who have problems with dogs being dogs. They fight every now and then and that's ok... but my dog came home with a dime sized puncture wound and no one could tell me how it happened or even knew that it happened. He's a big boy...about 100lbs, but none the less. Someone should have seen it happen or at least noticed it on his side and had it cleaned. No one there even knew it happened. Seems strange. Overall, it seems like the staff are maybe a bit overwhelmed and don't really spend too much time caring for the pets. Not going back. read more

This is one of two doggy daycares in town that we've tried and Woody definitely like this one better. How do we know, you ask? The other place we've taken him the dogs get to play with minimal supervision all day - which is fine if you have a dog-dog. Woody, on the other hand, is a people dog. He wants to play until he's tired (which isn't long, he's a lazy monster) and then wants to go sit adjacent to the humans. There is always a person out with the dogs and this makes him happy. He is always excited when we arrive and the girls who work there seem just as happy to see him. We've brought him in for daycare a few times (really just to let him play) and boarded him once. Every time it's gone smoothly. I loved spying on him using the webcams at the daycare we used to take him to in LA, so I'm really happy they offer the same service. They're open from 7-7 so dropping off and picking up around a long workday isn't an issue. They do require a temperament evaluation you have to schedule in advance as part of their first day and current vaccination records, so keep that all in mind when planning to bring your doggy in, but that's all pretty standard. They give you an adorable report card telling you how your pup did, including names of friends he played with. Is it ridiculous? Yes. Do I love it anyways? Absolutely. Yes, I understand my dog is not a child, but if I'm paying ~$20 for him to play all day, by all means, indulge me and tell me about naps on a cozy cot, how the play day went and who his new best friends are! While we definitely miss the Pooch Hotel in our old neighborhood, Woody thinks this is a more than acceptable substitute. read more

Camp Bow Wow is where I feel comfortable leaving my dogs for the day or for a week while on vacation. The staff there is very attentive and treat my dogs like their own. Being able to watch them on the camera is an added bonus, I can see my dogs playing and having fun with the other dogs and the staff. All three come home exhausted from their fun day at Camp Bow Wow! We are a Camp Bow Wow family for life! read more

I took my dog to Camp Bow Wow while I was away on vacation. My dog stayed for 10 nights and she LOVED it! Bella is an anxious dog, but I am so grateful to the Camp Bow Wow staff for having the patience and expertise to make Bella's stay comfortable. You can watch your pup all day on the cameras (so amazing), they send you occasional texts with updates, and they even called when something was wrong to let me know! I am so grateful to Camp Bow Wow for taking such great care of my girl! Bella and I can't wait to see you all again! read more

This location only deserves ONE star, but they did return my dog to me alive, so I guess that counts for something. I have used CBW's across the country during my vacation travels. My home CBW is in Westminister, Colorado, which is fantastic. However, this particular location in Springfield, MO was just TERRIBLE and I would not recommend it to anyone. The staff were surly and unfriendly. I never once saw them (via the online cams) checking on the dogs at any point during my pets overnight stay there. Every other location has at least 1-2 people constantly present monitoring the dogs during their play time to make sure that they don't get into a fight, that they have access to water, to clean up any accidents, etc. Not this location, for some reason. When I picked up my dog, he drank about a gallon of water as if he had not had access to any water during his entire overnight stay there. In addition, they lost my $40 retractable leash that I dropped off with my dog and then tried to say that I must have not dropped him off with one and basically called me a liar. Did they walk him to the back without a freaking leash? My dog is just about the most important thing to me. I wouldn't trust this place to take care of a freaking gold fish. I definitely wouldn't ever trust them again to take care of my dog, which I consider a member of my family. UPDATE: After posting this review, the staff did finally make an effort to locate my dog's leash, found it, and mailed it back to me. This was 2 weeks later and after I had already bought my dog a new $40 leash. Thanks, very helpful. read more

Love Camp Bow Wow! The staff is very friendly, you can tell they're well trained and equipped to handle all dogs, and the facility is very clean. I have used the daycare and hydrobath services and been extremely happy with both. Our fur-baby is always so excited to go to daycare and is worn out by the time we pick him up from playing all day. I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow. read more

Bri has been going to camp 2-4 times a week for about two years and every we make the turn onto the outer road to get to the building she starts wagging and whining. She absolutely loves it! We've used the boarding services twice before, and she is always ready to go back for Day Camp. When we first get inside she immediately barrels through the check-in door, and most of the counselors know her by name, which is an awesome feeling. Overall she has a blast, I can focus on work or running errands, and I get to bring home a tired but happy pup :) read more

I really hate writing this review. My dog has attended Camp Bow Wow for years, first in Ohio and then here in Springfield. She has always loved going there and been excited about her doggy friends. Unfortunately, the quality has really declined in the last 6 months. My first tip off to the change, occurred this July, when I dropped her off for a week. I had her updated Bordetella vaccine record and I thought it was odd that they did not know her previous vaccine was expired. If I had not been on it, then she would have attended without an updated vaccine. While she was there, another dog bit her on the ear. I was not too worried about it, these things happen, and Camp Bow Wow explained that they are not liable because this is a known risk. She ended up needing stitches and unfortunately started exhibiting startling symptoms (avoidance of water and foaming/drooling at the mouth, vomiting/diarrhea) several days later. My vet called Camp Bow Wow to get a copy of the other dog's shot records with all identifiable information redacted. Camp Bow Wow refused to provide the shot record citing privacy concerns (although all private info can be blocked out from the record). Considering my experience when dropping her off and their refusal to provide the vaccine record of the other dog, I feel that Camp Bow Wow is now lax when it comes to safety and vaccinations. Verbally they say that all dogs are vaccinated and will assure you that this is the case, my experience proves otherwise. Just a word of caution for those that decide to send their dogs here or that have had good experiences previously. Update: My dog, Shera, attended Camp Bow Wow from July 2nd to July 12th. She was perfectly healthy prior to attending Camp Bow Wow. She passed on July 23rd after several trips to the vet to repair her ear and to determine the cause of her unknown illness. I had previously given good written/verbal reviews and recommendations about this facility, but now I wish I had never taken her there. read more

We have used the day camp twice now while visiting from out of town. Both times have been good experiences and their staff is awesome!

If there was a 0 star option I would've picked it.... When we picked up our pets they were disgusting and drenched in pee. They were also not feed the morning we picked them up because "they didn't look hungry". I have tried to call and they were blaming it on me and that I should've took them to the other location. read more

I dropped my husky dog off for a half day of daycare and a bath. When I arrived to pick him up my dog was going crazy trying to get out of the place. He was slamming against the wooden doors trying to find a way out. The bath they supposedly give thick coated dogs is supposed to pull out the loose hair, but my dog was shedding like crazy after the bath. I guess they don't deshed with a furminator brush like Petsmart. What a mess! He was still wet when I picked him up. They trimmed his nails also. When I got him in the car I noticed he had blood on his left front paw. I thought at first they had trimmed his nails too short, but the blood was coming from the pad on his foot. It looked like they might have hit his pad with a trimmer. The thing that makes me mad is no one ever said anything about his paw and it was pretty noticeable. My dog has been to many dog daycare places before and never acted so scared before when I come to pick him up. I will never use this facility again. Beware of the 5 star reviews!! read more

My dog was starving when I picked her up. She was crying for a half hour on the road which was unusual. When stopped and checked her food bag most of the food wasn't given to her. So at a quick shop I got cheese and jerky and fed it to her and then she stopped crying and fell asleep. She was at camp bow wow for 5 days. If I left her there any longer I feel she that would have been severely under nourished . She reeked with urine and so did her bedding. This place may be fine for Day camp but I surely don't recommend it for boarding. So ....so....sad....for all the beloved family pets that do stay there longer a day now. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!! read more
